WHEN FOLLOWING THE SUNNAH BECOMES CONTROVERSIAL…

Love for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is not measured by how loudly we celebrate him, but by how faithfully we follow him.

Allah says:

“Say, [O Muhammad], ‘If you truly love Allah, then follow me; Allah will love you and forgive your sins.’”
— Qur’an 3:31

Sheikh Sudais has spoken. People may agree or disagree, but one question remains:

What did the Prophet ﷺ himself teach and practice?

Our love for him ﷺ should always lead us back to his Sunnah.

Love is a claim. Following is its proof.

قال الإمام سفيان الثوري رحمه الله:

«الْبِدْعَةُ أَحَبُّ إِلَى إِبْلِيسَ مِنَ الْمَعْصِيَةِ؛ الْمَعْصِيَةُ يُتَابُ مِنْهَا، وَالْبِدْعَةُ لَا يُتَابُ مِنْهَا».

Imam Sufyān Ath-Thawrī (رحمه الله) ya ce:

“Bid’a ta fi soyuwa ga Iblis fiye da saɓo; domin ana tuba daga saɓo, amma bid’a ba a tuba daga gare ta.”
