READINGS IN ORDINARY TIME WEEK 30 WEDNESDAY YEAR 1

29-OCT-2025 Readings

All stand. The Priest (May) approaches the Altar with the ministers and venerates it while the entrance Antiphon is Sung:
1ST READING: Romans 8:26-30

Brethren: The Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we
do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with
sighs too deep for words. And he who searches the hearts of men knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit
intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. We know that in
everything God works for good with those who love him, who are called according
to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed
to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the first-born among many
brethren. And those whom he predestined he also
called; and those whom he called he also justified; and those whom he justified
he also glorified.

The Word of The Lord!.

Responsorial Psalm Psalm 13

R. I trust in your merciful love, O Lord.

Look, answer me, Lord my God!

Give light to my eyes lest I fall asleep in death;

lest my enemy say, 'I have overcome him';

lest my foes rejoice when they see me fall.

R. I trust in your merciful love, O Lord.

As for me, I trust in your merciful love.

Let my heart rejoice in your salvation.

I will sing to the Lord who has been bountiful with me.

I will sing psalms to the name of the Lord Most High.

R. I trust in your merciful love, O Lord.

All stand to sing the Gospel Acclamation to welcome the gospel, and remain standing to honour/hear the Master Christ(Himself).

ACCLAMATION: 2 Thessalonians 2:14

R. ALLELUIA.
God has called us through the GOSPEL, to obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
R. ALLELUIA.

The Gospel ( All stand! )

GOSPEL Luke 13:22-30

At that time: Jesus went on his way through towns and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem. And someone said to him, " Lord, will those who are saved be few?" And he said to them, "Strive to enter by the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able. When once the householder has risen up and shut the door, you will begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ' Lord, open to us.' He will answer you, 'I do not know where you come from. Then you will begin to say, 'We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets. But he will say, 'I tell you, I do not know where you come from; depart from me, all you workers of iniquity! There you will weep and gnash your teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God and you yourselves thrust out. And men will come from

east and west, and from north and south, and

sit at table in the kingdom of God. And behold,

some are last who will be first, and some are

first who will be last."

The Gospel of The Lord!.

Reflection

Will only a few be saved? The man was interested in discussing salvation, whereas Jesus was interested in his soul. Rather than discussing the number to be saved, he ought to have been concerned if he would be part of that number. Hence Jesus exhorts him to strive to enter by the narrow door rather than engage in mere discussion. It is what we do that will count in the end, and not what we discuss. We will be judged, not according to the insight of our theology, but according to the depth of our charity. The Lord will identify us on the last day by our good deeds and not just by our fine talk or big degrees.

OCTOBER 28 SAINTS SIMON AND JUDE, APOSTLES

28-OCT-2025 Readings

All stand. The Priest (May) approaches the Altar with the ministers and venerates it while the entrance Antiphon is Sung:
READING I Ephesians 2:19-22

Brethren: You are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure is joined together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord; in whom you also are built into it for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

The Word of The Lord!.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM:
Psalm 19

R. Their sound goes forth through all the earth.

The heavens declare the glory of God,

and the firmament proclaims the work of his hands.

Day unto day conveys the message,

and night unto night imparts the knowledge.

R. Their sound goes forth through all the earth.

No speech, no word, whose voice goes unheeded;

their sound goes forth through all the earth,

their message to the utmost bounds of the world.

R. Their sound goes forth through all the earth.

All stand to sing the Gospel Acclamation to welcome the gospel, and remain standing to honour/hear the Master Christ(Himself).

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION

R. ALLELUIA.
We praise you, O God, we acclaim you as the Lord; the glorious band of apostles sing your praise, O Lord!
R. ALLELUIA.

The Gospel ( All stand! )

GOSPEL Luke 6:12-19

In these days Jesus went out into the hills to pray; and all night he continued in prayer to God. And when it was day, he called his disciples, and chose from them twelve, whom he named apostles; Simon, whom he named Peter, and Andrew his brother, and James and John, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon who was called the Zealot, and Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor. And he came down with them and stood on a level place, with a great crowd of his disciples and a great multitude of people from all Judea and Jerusalem and the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear him and to

be healed of their diseases, and those who were troubled with unclean spirits were cured. And all the crowd sought to touch him, for power came forth from him and healed them all.

The Gospel of The Lord!.

Reflection

Simon and Jude are two great apostles of Jesus. Known as the Zealot, Simon directed his political energy to the service of Christ and the GOSPEL, and Jude is the patron saint of impossible cases. These apostles formed the foundation of our faith. We are to imitate them in their zeal for the GOSPEL and follow their legacy of submission and commitment to jesus. We have been called and sent at baptism to share in the mission of bringing the good news to others. How are we responding to this task? Simon and Jude are examples to us, even in their death. Their life and witness continue to lead people to Jesus. Are we proud of our faith and are we willing to share it with others regardless of the obstacles we may encounter?

READINGS IN ORDINARY TIME WEEK 30 MONDAY YEAR 1

27-OCT-2025 Readings

All stand. The Priest (May) approaches the Altar with the ministers and venerates it while the entrance Antiphon is Sung:
1ST READING: Romans 8:12-17

Brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh-- for if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body you will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the spirit of sonship. When we cry, "Abba! Father!" it is the Spirit himself bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.

The Word of The Lord!.

Responsorial Psalm Psalm 68

R. This God of ours is a God who saves.

Let God arise; let his foes be scattered.

Let those who hate him flee from his face.

But the just shall rejoice at the presence of God;

they shall exult with glad rejoicing.

R. This God of ours is a God who saves.

Father of orphans, defender of widows:

such is God in his holy place.

God gives the desolate a home to dwell in;

he leads the prisoners forth into prosperity.

R. This God of ours is a God who saves.

Day after day, may the Lord be blest.

He bears our burdens; God is our saviour.

This God of ours is a God who saves.

The Lord our Lord provides an escape from death.

R. This God of ours is a God who saves.

All stand to sing the Gospel Acclamation to welcome the gospel, and remain standing to honour/hear the Master Christ(Himself).

ACCLAMATION: John 17:17

R. ALLELUIA.
Your word, O Lord, is truth; sanctify us in the truth.
R. ALLELUIA.

The Gospel ( All stand! )

GOSPEL Luke 13:10-17

At that time: Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath. And there was a woman who had had a spirit of infirmity for eighteen years; she was bent over and could not fully straighten herself. And en Jesus saw her, he called her and said to her, "Woman, you are freed from your infirmity." And he laid his hands upon her, and immediately she was made straight, and she praised God. But the ruler of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had healed on the sabbath, said to the people, "There are six days on which work ought to be

done; come on those days and be healed, and not on the sabbath day." Then the Lord answered him, "You hypocrites! Does not each of you on the sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the manger, and lead it away to water it? And ought not this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan bound for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?" As he said this, all his adversaries were put to shame; and all the people rejoiced at all the glorious things that were done by him.

The Gospel of The Lord!.

Reflection

Our God saves (Psalm 68:21), frees and heals us always! He is not conditioned by time, day or place. Paul tells us we have received a Spirit that frees us from fear, infirmity and hypocrisy. Fear cripples our faith; infirmity cripples our bodies, and hypocrisy cripples our spirituality. Many of us Christians are hypocrites. We have different values and judgments for different situations and persons. We have mastered wicked measures that keep people oppressed and some others free at the same time. We misinterpret the truth to blind us from seeing good. We manipulate the truth to accuse and hurt people and ostracise them from the community of God's children. Like the ruler of the synagogue, we abandon the good and complain about irrelevant details, laws and procedures. Many of us have become so wicked that we rejoice at the sufferings of others. We bind heavy burdens and lay them on people's shoulders giving unnecessary discomfort and trouble. We are called to do good always. Like Jesus, we are to bring comfort, truth, freedom to those who are oppressed, sick or heavy-laden.

READINGS IN ORDINARY TIME WEEK 30 SUNDAY YEAR C

26-OCT-2025 Readings

All stand. The Priest (May) approaches the Altar with the ministers and venerates it while the entrance Antiphon is Sung:
1ST READING: Sirach 35: 12-14.16-18

The Lord is the judge, and with him is no partiality. He will not show partiality in the case of a poor man; and he will listen to the prayer of one who is wronged. He will not ignore the supplication of the fatherless, nor the widow when she pours out her story. He whose service is pleasing to the Lord will be accepted, and his prayer will reach to the clouds. The prayer of the humble pierces the clouds, and he will not be consoled until it reaches the Lord; he will not desist until the Most High visits him, and does justice for the righteous, and executes judgment. And the Lord will not delay, neither will he be patient with them.

The Word of The Lord!.

Responsorial Psalm Psalm 34

R. The lowly one called, and the Lord heard him.

I will bless the Lord at all times,

praise of him is always in my mouth.

In the Lord my soul shall make its boast;

the humble shall hear and be glad.

R. The lowly one called, and the Lord heard him.

The Lord turns his face against the wicked

to destroy their remembrance from the earth.

The just cry out, the Lord hears,

and rescues them in all their distress.

R. The lowly one called, and the Lord heard him.

The Lord is close to the broken-hearted;

those whose spirit is crushed he will save.

The Lord ransoms the souls of his servants.

All who trust in him shall not be condemned.

R. The lowly one called, and the Lord heard him.

2ND READING:, 2 Timothy 4:6-8.16-18

Beloved: I am already on the point of being sacrificed; the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing. At my first defence no one took my part; all deserted me. May it not be charged against them! But the Lord stood by me and gave me strength to proclaim the message fully, that all the Gentiles might hear it. So I was rescued from the lion's mouth. The Lord will rescue me from every evil and save me for his heavenly kingdom. To him

be the glory for ever and ever. Amen.

The Word of The Lord!+

ACCLAMATION: 2 Corinthians 5:19

R. ALLELUIA.
God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.

R. ALLELUIA.

The Gospel ( All stand! )

GOSPEL Luke 18:9-14

At that time: Jesus told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous and despised others: "Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, 'God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week, I give tithes of all that I get. But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me a sinner! I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for every one who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted."

The Gospel of The Lord!.

Reflection

Today is Mission Sunday, when we are reminded of our responsibilities towards the mission of the Universal Church. Everyone is a missionary: a missionary in giving the love and care of Christ to all. Every little action done with love is a mission. When we do not know what mission activity we can be engaged in, the best mission work is to pray for others. The GOSPEL has placed before us two attitudes: pride and humility. When we are too much taken up with ourselves, it affects all our senses, including common sense. Then there will be no room for growth. Humility opens all our senses. A humble person does not have the fear of falling because s/he is already with feet firmly on the ground. A humble person will be able to see and meet the need of his/her neighbours; and that s the greatest missionary activity.

READINGS IN ORDINARY TIME WEEK 29 SATURDAY YEAR 1

25-OCT-2025 Readings

All stand. The Priest (May) approaches the Altar with the ministers and venerates it while the entrance Antiphon is Sung:
1ST READING: Romans 8:1-11

Brethren: There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do: sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the just requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God's law, indeed it cannot; and those who are in the flesh cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh, you are in the Spirit, if the Spirit of God really dwells in you. Any one who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. But if Christ is in you, although your bodies are dead because of sin, your spirits are alive because of righteousness. If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through his Spirit who dwells in you.

The Word of The Lord!.

Responsorial Psalm Psalm 24

R. These are the people who seek your face, O Lord.

The Lord's is the earth and its fullness,

the world, and all who dwell in it.

It is he who set it on the seas;

on the rivers he made it firm.

R. These are the people who seek your face, O Lord.

Who shall climb the mountain of the Lord?

Who shall stand in his holy place?

The clean of hands and pure of heart,

whose soul is not set in vain things.

R. These are the people who seek your face, O Lord.

Blessings from the Lord he shall receive,

and right reward from the God who saves him.

Such are the people who seek him,

who seek the face of the God of Jacob.

R. These are the people who seek your face, O Lord.

All stand to sing the Gospel Acclamation to welcome the gospel, and remain standing to honour/hear the Master Christ(Himself).

ACCLAMATION: Ezekiel 33:11

R. ALLELUIA.
I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, says the Lord, but that he turn from his way and live.

R. ALLELUIA.

The Gospel ( All stand! )

GOSPEL Luke 13:1-9

There were some present at that very time who told Jesus of the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. And he

answered them, "Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered thus? I tell you, No; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Or those eighteen upon whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse offenders than all the others who dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you, No; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish." And he told this parable: "A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. And he said to the vinedresser, 'Behold, these three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and I find none. Cut it down; why should it use up the ground?' And he answered him, 'Let it alone, sir, this year also, till I dig about it and put on manure. And if it bears fruit next year, well and

II good; but if not, you can cut it down."

The Gospel of The Lord!.

Reflection

The parable of the fig tree is an image of how the Lord relates to us. He is slow to give up on us even when the signs are not promising. He pours His grace into our lives and ensures that we bear the rich fruit of the Holy Spirit. We have a part to play, though; the Lord cannot work in our lives despite us. The parable assures us that the Lord's efforts on our behalf will always far exceed whatever efforts we might make. As Paul says, grace abounds and, even when sin abounds, grace abounds all the more.

READINGS IN ORDINARY TIME WEEK 29 FRIDAY YEAR 1

24-OCT-2025 Readings

All stand. The Priest (May) approaches the Altar with the ministers and venerates it while the entrance Antiphon is Sung:
1ST READING: Romans 7:18-25

Brethren: I know that nothing good dwells within me, that is, in my flesh. I can will what is right, but I cannot do it. For I do not do the good want, but the evil I do not want is what I do. Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I that do it, but sin which dwells within me. So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand. For I delight in the law of God, in my inmost self, but I see in my members another law at war with the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin which dwells in my members. Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!

The Word of The Lord!.

Responsorial Psalm Psalm 119

R. Teach me your statutes, O Lord.

Teach me good judgment and knowledge,

for I trust in your commands.

R. Teach me your statutes, O Lord.

You are good, and you do what is good;

teach me your statutes.

R. Teach me your statutes, O Lord.

Let your merciful love console me

by your promise to your servant.

R. Teach me your statutes, O Lord.

Show me compassion, that I may live,

for your law is my delight.

R. Teach me your statutes, O Lord.

I will never forget your precepts,

for with them you give me life.

R. Teach me your statutes, O Lord.

Save me, I am yours,

for I seek your precepts.

R. Teach me your statutes, O Lord.

All stand to sing the Gospel Acclamation to welcome the gospel, and remain standing to honour/hear the Master Christ(Himself).

ACCLAMATION: Matthew 11:25

R. ALLELUIA.
Blessed are you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have revealed to little ones the mysteries of the kingdom.

R. ALLELUIA.

The Gospel ( All stand! )

GOSPEL Luke 12:54-59

At that time: Jesus said to the multitudes, "When you see a cloud rising in the west, you say at once, 'A shower is coming'; and so it happens. And when you see the south wind blowing, you say, 'There will be scorching heat'; and it happens. You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of earth and sky; but why do you not know how to interpret the present time? "And why do you not judge for yourselves what is right? As you go with your accuser before the magistrate, make an effort to settle with him on the way, lest he drag you to the judge, and the judge hand you over to the officer, and the officer put you in prison. I tell you, you will never get out till you have paid the very last copper."

The Gospel of The Lord!.

Reflection

St Paul speaks of the tension in every human soul when he says that the soul on wallS I do he does not do, but the evil he does not want to do he finds himself doing. This is the tension between good and evil that lies in every human heart. Every one of us can easily relate with this very sincere confession of St Paul. He was very much aware of his sinfulness. As Christians, we need to be sincere before God because He knows us through and through. St John Paul II was aware of his weakness and sought in every way to please the Lord. Making efforts to please God and relying on His grace will help us overcome this tension between good and evil.

23-OCT-2025 Readings

All stand. The Priest (May) approaches the Altar with the ministers and venerates it while the entrance Antiphon is Sung:
1ST READING: Romans 6:19-23

Brethren: I am speaking in human terms, because of your natural limitations. For just as you once yield your members to impurity and to greater and greater iniquity, so now yield your members to righteousness for sanctification. When you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. But then what return did you get from the things of which you are now ashamed? The end of those things is death. But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the return you get is sanctification and its end, eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The Word of The Lord!.

Responsorial Psalm Psalm 1

R. Blessed the man who has placed his trust in the Lord.

Blessed indeed is the man

who follows not the counsel of the wicked,

nor stands in the path with sinners,

nor abides in the company of scorners,

but whose delight is the law of the Lord,

and who ponders his law day and night.

R. Blessed the man who has placed his trust in the Lord.

He is like a tree that is planted

beside the flowing waters, that yields its fruit in due season,

and whose leaves shall never fade;

and all that he does shall prosper.

R. Blessed the man who has placed his trust in the Lord.

Not so are the wicked, not so!

For they, like winnowed chaff,

shall be driven away by the wind.

For the Lord knows the way of the just,

but the way of the wicked will perish.

R. Blessed the man who has placed his trust in the Lord.

ACCLAMATION: Philippians 3:8-9

R. ALLELUIA.
I count everything as refuse, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him.

R. ALLELUIA.

The Gospel ( All stand! )

GOSPEL Luke 12:49-53

At that time: Jesus said to his disciples, "I came to cast fire upon the earth; and would that it were already kindled! I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how I am constrained until it is accomplished! Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division; for henceforth in one house there will be five divided, three against two and two against three; they will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against her mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and

daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law."

The Gospel of The Lord!.

Reflection

Jesus asserts that He has come not to bring 'peace' but 'division'. All who choose to follow His way will find themselves at odds with others, even with family members. Following Him and walking in His way will often mean saying 'no' to others' demands. Discipleship can be costly. Yet because of the Lord's own faithfulness unto death His Spirit has been poured into our hearts. The fire of that Spirit at work in our lives helps us to remain faithful and courageous in our following of the Lord.

22-OCT-2025 Readings

All stand. The Priest (May) approaches the Altar with the ministers and venerates it while the entrance Antiphon is Sung:
1ST READING: Romans 6:12-18

Brethren: Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal bodies, to make you obey their passions.

Do not yield your members to sin as instruments of wickedness, but yield yourselves to God as men who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments of righteousness. For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace. What then? Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! Do you not know that if you yield yourselves to any one as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness? But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed, and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness.

The Word of The Lord!.

Responsorial Psalm Psalm 124

R. Our help is in the name of the Lord.

'If the Lord had not been on our side, let Israel say -

"If the Lord had not been on our side

when men rose against us,

then would they have swallowed us alive

when their anger was kindled."

R. Our help is in the name of the Lord.

Then would the waters have engulfed us,

the torrent gone over us;

over our heads would have swept the raging waters.'

Blest be the Lord who did not give us

a prey to their teeth!

R. Our help is in the name of the Lord.

Our life, like a bird, has escaped

from the snare of the fowler.

Indeed, the snare has been broken,

and we have escaped.

Our help is in the name of the Lord,

who made heaven and earth.

R. Our help is in the name of the Lord.

All stand to sing the Gospel Acclamation to welcome the gospel, and remain standing to honour/hear the Master Christ(Himself).

ACCLAMATION: Matthew 24:42-44

R. ALLELUIA.
Watch, therefore, and be ready; the

Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

R. ALLELUIA.

The Gospel ( All stand! )

GOSPEL Luke 12:39-48

At that time: Jesus said to his disciples, Know this, that if the householder had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would have been awake and would not have left his house to be broken into. You also must be ready; for the Son of man is coming at an unexpected hour." Peter said, " Lord, are you telling this parable for us or for all?" And the Lord said, "Who then is the faithful and wise steward, whom his master will set over his household, to give them their portion of food at the proper time? Blessed is that servant whom his master when he comes will find so doing. Truly, I say to you, he will set him over all his possessions. But if that servant says to himself, 'My master is delayed in coming, and begins to beat the menservants and the maidservants, and to eat and drink and get drunk, the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know, and will punish him, and put him with the unfaithful. And that

servant who knew his master's will, but did not make ready or act according to his will, shall

receive a severe beating. But he who did not

know, and did what deserved a beating, shall

receive a light beating. Every one to whom much is given, of him will much be required; and

of him to whom men commit much they will

demand the more.

The Gospel of The Lord!.

Reflection

The price of eternal redemption is eternal vigilance. In the parable, Jesus reminds us of the importance of being always on guard. As servants of Christ it would be much too risky to assume that the Master is delayed and therefore there is enough time to "play". He has told us that He will come unexpectedly, when no one is thinking of His return. Are we going to be faithful and commit ourselves to His ways or remain unfaithful by neglecting His path? The Lord comes to us every time; He comes to us through the Word and the Eucharist. He is in our midst whenever we gather in His name. We are to take the presence of Christ in these different forms seriously because these comings' help us prepare adequately for the future final coming
