*Psalm 145:14-16*
_14 The Lord upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down. 15 The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time. 16 You open Your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing._

It is common to hear scientists and futurists talk about the future and warn about the possibility of the earth’s resources getting depleted. They use empirical statistics, and make projections on their computers and then come up with some threatening proposals. Sometimes with these they hold everyone at ransom, and create panic in the hearts of many.

We can understand them. They are just making use of the limited knowledge they have acquired. The truth still remains unchanged, that the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness of it. God knew how long this earth will last before He recreates the new heaven and earth that is clearly established in the biblical scriptures. He has not left the earth exclusively in the hands of man. Man is struggling to preserve God’s creation, but God still has the future of the earth under His control. This means for as long as the earth remains, there will be enough resources for humanity. That is how come He satisfies the desires of every living thing, including His highest creation – man.

God knows all we will need for the next 30 years if Jesus tarries. There are resources that we have not yet discovered. We do not know or understand the process God has set in place to replenish the earth’s resource we deplete by the activities we engage in. God owns all things and He certainly will continue to be our Provider for as long as the earth lasts. That is guaranteed.

*Prayer*
1. Celebrate the God of all creation, the source of every good thing that man needs to survive and live on this planet.
2. Ask for faith and obedience, and the ability to walk in His ways which are higher than our ways.
3. Father, our knowledge and understanding is limited. Please help us take your word and run with it.

*Declarations*
I acknowledge my heavenly Father, the creator and the guaranteed Source of all things I will ever need while I live on this earth. I know Elohim never fails and so I shall not want. He knows my needs and will supply them according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Therefore, I shall never lack as long as I put my confidence in Him in the name of Jesus.

*THURSDAY AUGUST 8*

*WAIT FOR THE FULLNESS OF TIME*

*Habakkuk 2:1-3*
_I will take my stand at my watch post and station myself on the tower, and look out to see what He will say to me, and what I will answer concerning my complaint. 2 And the LORD answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. 3 For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay._

Anyone who has truly walked with God for years knows one thing about God; He does things in His time. God’s time often differs from ours and that becomes a challenge for us. We are humans, knowing next to nothing about what happens the next 30 minutes from reading what you are reading now; yet we often behave like we know everything.

God says we should write the vision down. That is the first things to do. Writing it down helps keep you focused. It provides opportunity for you to see it before you go to bed and when you wake up in the morning, it will always be before your eyes. So, you see that the leadership behavior that says the leader should make the vision clear and communicate it in the most passionate and appealing way comes from the Bible. God knows the power of a well-communicated vision on followers.

The other reality is that God’s purposes for our lives are for an appointed time. That is why we should wait for the appointed time. Waiting has never been fun for humanity, but with God all things are possible. He who placed the vision in your heart has what it takes to make it materialize in due season. Simply trust Him to bring it to come to pass in the fullness of time.

*Prayer*
1. Thank God for His faithfulness in committing to what He promises to do in your life and with you.
2. Ask for patient endurance in the midst of all the circumstances till the fullness of time comes.
3. Father, please help me wait in absolute trust on You to bring to pass Your purposes for my life.

*Declarations*
I declare that my time will come. Though it tarries, I know there is a Kairos moment for me and that moment is not far. Faithful is He who has promised, and He will certainly bring it to pass. I will wait patiently on God until my change comes. Elohim is faithful. His promises are yeah and amen and He will show Himself mighty on my behalf in the name of Jesus.

*WEDNESDAY AUGUST 7*

*POSSESS YOUR TERRITORIES*

*Joshua 1:1-4*
_After the death of Moses the servant of the LORD, the LORD said to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' assistant, 2 “Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, into the land that I am giving to them, to the people of Israel. 3 Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you, just as I promised to Moses. 4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun shall be your territory._

There is a proverb in my country that says that “if you sit in the same place, you sit on your good things”. It actually means that if you do not make a move in your life, all the good things you dream about become only dreams. Today’s passage is simply God telling Joshua never to sit in one place but move on. That is the only way to take territories. Remember it was the same thing He told Abraham, that as far as he could see, God would give to him as an inheritance. This time God said wherever the sole of your feet shall tread.

There is the seeing first, and then there is the possessing. The seeing gives the scope and the stepping gives the actual possession of what was promised. Now God speaks once and it is done; then it takes our obedience for the full manifestation of what God said.
If you were today’s Joshua, what would you do? Keep walking and letting your feet tread many territories, and they are all yours. Child of God, never be satisfied that you are born again and doing nothing for God. Get up and take territories for the kingdom.

*Prayer*
1. Thank God for the assurance of possession based on what you do as His child.
2. Ask for the faith and boldness to extend your boundaries and take new territories for God’s kingdom.
3. Father, please help me play my role in getting the kingdoms of this world to become Your kingdom.

*Declarations*
I declare today that I am a kingdom worker and a territory taker. I take God’s word and activate the power of God within me and make bold moves to take territories for His kingdom. Nothing shall stand in my way because the greater One is with me and has gone ahead of me. I declare that I am a territory-taker for life in the name of Jesus!

*THE LAMP DEVOTION*

*TUESDAY AUGUST 6*

*IT IS TIME TO SHINE*

*Isaiah 60:1-3*
_Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you. 2 For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the LORD will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you. 3 And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising._

I do not know for how many years you seem to be living in the dark, overwhelmed by one trouble after the other, with no hope in sight. But there is one thing I know. When God smiles upon you and places His glory upon you in spite of everything, you have only one choice – to arise and shine. That is all it takes!

Very often it is not even the situations and circumstances we go through that makes us depressed but our responses to the situations. Sometimes our responses make the situations more unbearable, and therefore dashes our hopes for the future. None of these have the power to halt the glory of the Lord that He places over you. When God shines His glory upon you, His glory dispels all the darkness that has prevailed over the period.

When the glory of the Lord rises upon you, it has little to do with you. It is actually because God is taking you out of some situation that He shines His glory upon you. It means that victory is assured. When His glory shines around you, it will draw the nations around you. They will come to you for all kinds of assistance. The Lord then makes you like a well in a desert. What do you have to do? All you have to do is be still and know that Jehovah is God! Truly He will show Himself strong on your behalf.

*Prayer*
1. Worship the Lord in the glory He has caused to shine upon you; acknowledge His goodness and love for you.
2. Pray for humility to continue to honor the Lord in spite of what you are going through.
3. Father, please help me to honor You all the days of my life and walk in humility before men.

*Declarations*
I acknowledge that there is nothing compared with God’s glory revealed in my life. His glory is light shining darkness and dispelling all my darkness. I receive God’s intervention and I honor Him with all my heart. I walk in faith and humility for the glory of God to continually shine all over me in the name of Jesus.

*MONDAY AUGUST 5*

*DO NOT DESPISE YOUR FEEBLE STEPS*

*2 Kings 7:5-7*
_5 So they arose at twilight to go to the camp of the Syrians. But when they came to the edge of the camp of the Syrians, behold, there was no one there. 6 For the Lord had made the army of the Syrians hear the sound of chariots and of horses, the sound of a great army, so that they said to one another, “Behold, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites and the kings of Egypt to come against us.” 7 So they fled away in the twilight and abandoned their tents, their horses, and their donkeys, leaving the camp as it was, and fled for their lives._

Today’s story is the origin of the common statement from pastors today, namely, “tomorrow by this time” or “next year by this time”. Each time you hear this story or you hear a pastor make that declaration, take your focus off the pastor and focus on God. Then look at the small efforts you are making to survive whatever you are going through and remind yourself that you will not only survive; you will win and be on top. Is there reason for this? Absolutely!

God knows how to take feeble efforts and multiply them, like He did with the feeble footsteps of lepers who could not walk like soldiers walk. God’s multiplication of their footsteps was what eventually got the 24-hr declaration by Elijah to happen.
Stop looking at the siege you are in, stop looking at whatever bad conditions prevail around you. Do not feel helpless anymore. See God magnify your little steps and make you stand tall with the giants in the area you want to operate and fulfill your dreams and purpose for life. God is with you; He certainly is!

*Prayer*
1. Let your praise go up to the God who is the Multiplier of little, despised efforts of those who trust Him.
2. Ask for grace to enable you continue holding up your faith in God who brings you victory.
3. Father, in Your strength alone I fight this battle of my life and I thank You for victory.

*Declarations*
I declare that my God is able to bring me from the back to the front. He is able to turn every little step I take and make them giant leaps in my business, my marriage and my life. I therefore will not despise anything in my life as little. God is big and that is enough for me. I know that as long as l follow Him in faith His counsel for my life will be established in the name of Jesus.

READ: 1 Corinthians 6:9-20

“And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed” - Genesis 2:25

The only person you must be naked with is your wife. Not your girlfriend, fiancee, nurse or secretary. God does not endorse polygamy. A polygamous lifestyle encourages fornication.
In my country Ghana, many successful men have their lawful wives whom they take to official functions. There are also the unofficial women in the lives of these men whom they spend time with at special places. Yet, they have no intention of divorcing their wives. We must keep this culture of unofficial polygamy far from us, if we want to avoid fornication.
One of the ways to prevent fornication if you are married is to have s*x regularly. When you eat and are satisfied, you don’t feel like eating any more.
A man of God fell into sin; he impregnated one of his church members. I was so sad, as he wept and described the difficulties of s*x he had with his wife. She kept complaining that she was tired, or cold. As soon as her husband committed adultery, she became active. She realized her husband’s adultery was the result of what was going on at home. Some wives are just waiting for their husbands to commit adultery and then they will wake up! Women especially, should know that, when they have s*x regularly with their husbands, they prevent them from having extra-marital affairs.
“Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge” (Hebrews 13:4).

*GOD REVEALED IN CREATION*

*Romans 1:18-20*

_18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. 19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 20 For His invisible attributes, namely, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse._

The greatest difficulty humans have is acknowledging that there is a God who made all things. People talk about God one way or the other, but who God really is has not yet settled with many people on earth today. Just imagine how we relate to people on earth who happen to occupy some positions in life. If the President of the United States comes to your country today, many will cherish an opportunity to take a selfie with him or shake his hands. It is because we really believe that he is a great person.
Is that the same we accord God? So many times not! If you want to understand who God is, just take time to look critically again at creation; take the six days of creation and analyze them. Everyone of God’s creation points back to the kind of [Person] God He is.

Every creation of God is calculated to bring some blessing to man. When He was creating them, He had man in mind, and that explains it. The sun reveals God as light and power, the rivers reveal God’s power, the planets and the galaxies demonstrate great wisdom, beauty and purpose. No wonder the apostle Paul draws our attention to the fact that God has made Himself known through His creation.

*Prayer*

1. Spend time meditating on God’s creation and see if you will not catch God’s characteristics in the things He made.

2. Pray for your eyes to be opened to see God when you wake up; when the sun rises and when it sets.

3. Father, help me fall in love with you as I meditate on the beauty of Your creation.

*Declarations*

I accept that no man is without excuse if they do not know God. God is clearly revealed in creation and in human history. The mountains, valleys, rivers, sun, moon, stars, light, vegetation and all the animals show His wisdom and His love for mankind. I declare that God is great and He is worthy of my praise all day long!

*SUNDAY JULY 28*

*THERE IS NO ONE LIKE JESUS*

*Exodus 15:11-14*

_“Who is like you, O Lord, among the Gods? Who is like you, majestic in holiness, awesome in glorious deeds, doing wonders? 12 You stretched out your right hand; the earth swallowed them. 13 “You have led in your steadfast love the people whom You have redeemed; You have guided them by Your strength to Your holy abode. 14 The peoples have heard; they tremble; pangs have seized the inhabitants of Philistia._

When I was young, we used to sing a song that starts with these words, “there is no one like Jesus to me”. When later I became a Christian and drew closer to God, I found those were no mere words. These are not mere statements! If you want to verify the validity of this statement you can do a simple exercise. Take all the renowned men who have walked on this earth before and are gone, and include some popular ones today. Put all their qualities together and when you get a good composite of their profile compare that with Jesus.

There is no single person whose characteristics match the Man Jesus. His profile is enough, so we do not need just faith to believe and be committed to Him. He is all any man would like to be – in knowledge, in wisdom, in love, in power, in righteousness and in authority. Jesus stands above all. No man laid down his life and took it back except Jesus. That is why we have Christianity as the strongest body of faith in the world. It all centers around Jesus.

Jesus truly was God in the flesh when He walked the earth. Since He left over 2000 years ago, no one has risen like Him and there will be no one ever like Him.

*Prayer*

1. Thank God for giving us His Son, the express image of His person, standing out far above all.

2. Ask the Holy Spirit to do the greatest thing for you – make you exactly like Jesus.

3. Father, please take my life and let it be consecrated unto You: make me like Jesus.

*Declarations*

I declare by divine authority that there is no one like Jesus in the earth today, in sovereignty and in greatness. There is no man in human history that comes close to Him. There is no one yet to be born that can be compared with Him. This is why I bow to Him in worship and declare Him Lord of all.

*ARE WE IN THE DAYS OF NOAH?*

*Mathew 24:36-39*

_36 “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only. 37 For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, 39 and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man._

The world today is running fast. Everyone seems to be in a hurry to grab something before it is too late. People are going to all lengths to make themselves relevant in this life, and some will do anything to get everyone’s attention. Competition is the word that describes the state of the world today.

The question to ask is this: Are we in the days of Noah like Jesus said? People are busy doing all kinds of things. It is not just marrying and giving in marriage. People are consumed with making all the money they can make within a short time and some have specialized in extorting from people in ways that look legitimate – like very high rents and highly-priced properties, etc.

The serious thing in the whole equation is that in the midst of all these, people are moving away from Godly principles and following their opinions. The church which is God’s representative on earth itself is caught up in this web. Preachers do not talk about the Second Coming anymore. That was exactly the case in Noah’s days till the flood came. To the people it was sudden, but in reality, Noah warned them for several years. We have to be careful about what we focus on today.

*Prayer*

1. Thank God for His faithfulness in constantly reminding us of His word and alerting us to be ready before Jesus comes.

2. Ask God to help you see the sense of urgency concerning the Lord’s return to the earth to rapture the believers.

3. Father, please help us do better than Noah’s generation to earn our place with you in eternity.

*Declarations*

I declare that I am a candidate of heaven. I live in full consciousness of the return of the Lord Jesus Christ during the rapture. I will not behave like the Noah generation; I will pay heed to the word of God and live in accordance with t**s principles. I declare by the grace of God that I choose to live in constant expectation that Jesus Christ is coming again soon.

*THURSDAY JULY 4*

*RICH TOWARDS GOD*

*Luke 12:19-21*

_19 And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.”’ 20 But God said to him, ‘Fool!This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’ 21 So is the one who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.”_

The bible makes it clear that God is the One who gives us the power to get wealth. Never envy a rich man or develop negative feelings towards him. You may be envying someone God has given wealth. Tomorrow it may be you who have the wealth that person has. Each of us is a candidate of God’s material blessings. No one is excluded so your time will certainly come and you will be rich.

What is important is that when your time comes, you make sure that the riches do not get into your head. You know how it works. You have been hungry all your life so the moment you encounter plenty, you pounce on it with no principles, no regulations, no plan or pattern because you are not sure whether it will last. You have been consumed with a poverty mentality for too long.

Walk in humility when your riches come. The simple instruction and exhortation Jesus has for you this morning is that you must make sure that as you become rich in the things of this life, you are rich also towards God. The truth is that the material things of this life are temporal. They will not go beyond the grave. Only things that are done for eternity will outlive this age we are in.

Immerse yourself in the work of the ministry. You do not need a title before you evangelize and disciple people. Simply follow the instructions of the Great commission and you will be okay.

*Prayer*

1. Spend time thanking the God who gives you power to get wealth.

2. Ask for wisdom to help you not to focus on material things but make yourself rich towards God.

3. Father, please help me to keep my mind stayed on You as I get rich.

*Declarations*

I declare today that the God who gives me power to get wealth is far greater than the wealth He has given to me. Therefore, I make a quality decision to focus my heart and mind on Him. I declare by the grace of God that as I am blessed, my heart will pursue the things that will make me rich towards God as in the name of Jesus.
