Chief Apostle Helge Mutschler – Biography
Chief Apostle Helge Mutschler, born on 8 August 1974 in Tübingen, Germany, is the current Chief Apostle of the New Apostolic Church, having been ordained during the Pentecost Divine Service held in Cape Town, South Africa, at the Tafelsig Congregation. His appointment marks a historic moment in the worldwide Church as he succeeded Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider.
He grew up in Freudenstadt in the Black Forest as the fourth child and first son in his family. Alongside his spiritual calling, he pursued a professional career in law, studying in Hanover, earning a Doctorate in Law (Dr. iur.), and being admitted as a lawyer in 2003. He is married, blessed with two children, and lives in Hannover, Germany.
His ministry in the New Apostolic Church spans more than three decades of faithful service:
1994: Ordained as a Sub-Deacon
1996: Ordained as a Deacon
2008: Ordained as a Priest and later Evangelist
2010: Appointed District Evangelist
2012: Appointed District Elder
2015: Ordained as Apostle for Lower Saxony
2021: Appointed District Apostle Helper for Northern and Eastern Germany, later expanding responsibilities in Berlin-Brandenburg
2025: Appointed Chief Apostle Helper during the Pentecost Divine Service in Wiesbaden, Germany
2026: Ordained as Chief Apostle in Cape Town, South Africa
Chief Apostle Mutschler is widely respected for his humble, compassionate, and Christ-centered leadership. His ministry strongly emphasizes pastoral care, unity, dialogue, and helping believers grow closer to Jesus Christ. He is known for encouraging ministers and members alike to serve with sincerity, love, and spiritual devotion.
As Chief Apostle, he now leads the worldwide New Apostolic Church into a new chapter of faith, unity, and service, guiding the international apostolate with wisdom, humility, and dedication to Christ.

Christ, the Bright and Morning Star

On Sunday 21st December 2025, Lead Apostle Benjamin Ohene Saffo conducted a divine service in Kumasi congregation. He was accompanied by Apostle Amos Osei-Du and District Rectors from Kumasi District.

The Lead Apostle read a Bible text from Revelation 22:16b

“I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.”

After celebration of Holy Communion, the Lead Apostle blessed the marriage of Priest Alex Tuffour and our dear sister Anita Obeng.

And it ended in praise! 🙌✨ What a glorious conclusion to our youth camp at Ejisuman SHS! 🌟 Our Sunday Service was powerful, officiated by Apostle Amos Osei-Du, with a theme that challenged us to take responsibility 🙏 ‘He administers justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the stranger, giving him food and clothing.’ Deuteronomy 10:18-19 (NKJV) 💡 Let’s carry this fire into our communities! 🔥

Our youth service led by Shepherd Bernard O. Owusu and assisted by Priests Philip Andzie and Alexander T. Antwi, explored this powerful question, reminding us that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God. 🙌 Let’s accept Him and hold Him close, building our futures on His love and guidance. 💡
