How Going to Church is Important โ And Why We Donโt Just Follow the Crowd?
1. Why Going to Church Is Important
Church is not just a building or Sunday routine. God designed it for us.
*Scripture:* _Hebrews 10:25_
โNot neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another...โ
3 Key Reasons:
1. For Growth: Ephesians 4:11-12
God gave pastors and teachers โto equip the saints for the work of ministry.โ
In church youโre taught, corrected, and built up so you donโt stay a baby Christian.
2. For Strength & Fellowship: Acts 2:42
The early church โdevoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship.โ
We need people who will pray with us, correct us in love, and remind us of Godโs Word when weโre weak.
3. For Worship & Encounter: _Psalm 122:1
โI was glad when they said to me, โLet us go to the house of the Lord!โโ_
Corporate worship invites Godโs presence. Thereโs power when believers come together.
Church is like a hospital, a school, and a family. You go to get healed, to learn, and to belong.
2. Not Following the Crowd
Just because โeveryone is doing itโ doesnโt make it right. God calls us to follow Him, not trends.
Exodus 23:2
โYou shall not follow a crowd to do evil..
Romans 12:2_
โDo not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind...โ
3 Dangers of Following the Crowd:
1. The crowd can lead you away from God Most people are chasing money, fame, or sin. _Matthew 7:13 โThe road is wide that leads to destruction.โ
2. The crowd has no convictionโ They change with every new trend. But _Isaiah 40:8_ says โThe word of our God will stand forever.โ
3. *The crowd wonโt stand with you at judgment* โ _Joshua 24:15_ โ โAs for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.โ Youโll give an account for your own choices.
The Balance
Go to church, not because everyone is going but because God commanded it.
Donโt follow the crowd ,even if everyone in church is doing it. Follow Christ.
Jesus did both:
He went to the synagogue regularly ,Luke 4:16_ but He also stood alone against the crowd when truth was at stake John 6:66.
