Before assuming the caliphate, al-Ma'mun was in a council when a handsome, fragrant, and well-dressed Jew entered.

He spoke eloquently. When the council dispersed, al-Ma'mun called him over and asked, "Are you a Jew?"

He replied, "Yes."

Al-Ma'mun said, "Convert to Islam, and I will do great things for you."

He responded, "My religion is the religion of my forefathers, so do not question me."

So al-Ma'mun let him go. A year later, he returned, this time a Muslim. He spoke eloquently on jurisprudence. When the council dispersed, al-Ma'mun called him over and asked, "Aren't you the same man?"

He replied, "Yes."

Al-Ma'mun asked, "What led you to Islam, when I had previously offered it to you, and you refused?"

He replied, "I am skilled in calligraphy. I went and wrote three copies of the Torah, adding to and subtracting from them, and I took them to the synagogue, where I sold them and they were bought."

He continued, "And I wrote three copies of the Gospel, adding to and subtracting from them, and I took them to the church, where they were bought from me."

He said: “I took the Quran and wrote three copies, adding to and subtracting from it. I took them to the copyists, and whenever they examined them, they saw the additions and omissions and threw them away. I knew then that this book was preserved, and that was the reason for my conversion to Islam.”

In 2022, A World Cup was held in Qatar, and the law of that place was no alcohol. All the countries in the whole world respected and abided by it, including you mighty USA. Guess what? The event ended as the best World Cup ever held, why? Because alcohol is almost the root of all evil.

This painting shows a woman from Dagestan (Caucasus) standing without her head covering, (hijab) holding her scarf in her hand.
She is standing between two heavily armed rival groups of men. The men have turned their face away from the woman (Ghair-Mahram).
This was often the tradition in Caucasus (Qafqaz) in order to stop the bloodshed.
When a woman felt the danger of casualties amongst the different clans, she would often enter among the rival fighting crowd of men. Whilst entering she would take off her head-covering, out of respect for the woman, the men would turn their eyes downwards and move away. This would eventually cease the fight.

The concept of dignity, chivalry and the extreme respect for women stemmed from both religious and traditional values. Women utilised this to help save many lives as well as bloodshed in the past.

To God we belong and to Him we shall return. Awad bin Fahd Al-Juhani, father of Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al-Juhani, Imam of the Grand Mosque in Mecca, has passed away. We ask God to forgive him, have mercy on him, grant him Paradise, and give our Sheikh and all his family patience and solace.🙏🙏
