I have come across many people who were deadly enemies but later became dearest lovers as time passed by. Some of these were once inseparable friends, partners, lovers etc. but the turn of events of the seasons turned them against each other. Others met for the first time in their lives as hostile enemies and therefore had no intentions of becoming one people one day.
Again, I have come across many others who are living in regret of quitting their marriage, jobs or businesses, schools, plans, churches, friendship etc.
Such is life, one important thing that many of us don't know is that, TIME is one of the greatest healers of emotional failures, emotional torture, emotional breakdown and emotional breakup etc. TIME works as a healer by
1. Allowing tempers to cool down
2. Allowing enough deliberations or analysis
3. Allowing diverse opinions to be heard
4. Allowing the opposing side to be heard
5. Allowing recollection or remembrance
6. Allowing opportunities to overcome effects of offences
7. Allowing affections and relevance in relationships revive.
For instance, after Jacob, took advantage of Esau"s weak moments of hunger to sn**ch his birthday right as the first son and later impersonating him to steal his blessing from Isaac, their father, Esau threatened to kill Jacob. This threat chased Jacob away for twenty years. After these years of self-imposed exile, God told Jacob to return home despite Esau's threat. Jacob feared for his life and the lives of his family and properties, surprisingly, in Genesis 33:3-4 NIV, He(Jacob) himself went on ahead and bowed down to the ground seven times as he approached his brother (Esau). [4] But Esau ran to meet Jacob and embraced him; he threw his arms around his neck and kissed him. And they wept.
Obviously, time has healed Esau of the pains Jacob gave him;
1. The anger had gone
2. The death threat was gone
3. The pain and anguish were gone
4. Esau missed his twin , Jacob
5. Esau's love for Jacob had revived
Know that all these happened without Jacob approaching Esau to seek reconciliation. Time had already thought Esau to forgive Jacob long before Jacob decided to talk to Esau for forgiveness.That is the power of time; an irresistible natural involuntary remedy to the deadliest human relationships.
That is why it is very necessary to respect time and give time a chance during crisis or conflicts. Key to this TIME factor are patience, self-control, endurance and perseverance during challenging seasons.

Few weeks ago, one of our brothers in Dwinim in the Bono region of Ghana, posted a video of a woman who had been killed by the son over an amount of cashew, which is the dominant farm product in that area. Many of such cases have been recorded in recent times where people kill their parents for money rituals, over inheritance, witchcraft suspicion etc.
To discourage and show the gravity of this molestations against parents, the scripture says that "Whoever strikes his father or his mother must surely be put to death."
Exodus 21:15 NET

♦️What does it mean to strike your parents?
To strike your parents means:
1. To physically assault your parents
2. To emotionally abuse or torture your parents
3. To verbally assault your parents
4. To spiritually assault your parents
5. To psychologically abuse your parents
6. To hate your parent
7. To deny your parents your support
This discourage this, Proverbs 23:22 NIV says that listen to your father, who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old.
♦️What causes striking of parents?
Children may strike the parents as a result of:
1. Provocations
2. Bitterness
3. Disagreement
6. Foolishness
7. Arrogance
8. Spiritism
Some people have sacrificed their parents for money and power rituals due to greed.
♦️Effects of striking your parents on parent.
If you u strike your parents, it may give them:
1. Disappointment and regret
2. Brokenheart
3. Mental and psychological problems
4. Bitterness and pain
5. Hardship and afflictions
6. Su***de and early death
When these happens, they breath deadly consequences.
♦️Effects of striking your parents on you
The consequences of striking your parents include:
1. Social stigmatisation
2. Loss of parental blessings and support
3. Parental curses
4. Loss of inheritance
5. Divine curses and
6. Death
For instance, Deuteronomy 27:16 says that “Cursed is anyone who dishonors their father or mother.” Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
♦️How to avoid striking your parents
Ephesians 6:2 NIV say that “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise—
1. Choose to obey the word of God ahead of your interests or wishes
2. Know that as a son or daughter, you may be giving them or may give them numerous reasons by actions, inactions and reactions to strike you
3. Know that it is your duty to protect your parents and not to punish them.
4. Know that, just as you can't strike your boss or head in your workplace, you can't strike your parents
5. Kill your pride and anger in the midst of provocations by parents
♦️How parents can prevent striking by children
Ephesians 6:4 NIV indicates that fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
1. Respect the rights and privileges of your children
2. Know that there is a divine command to avoid provoking the children
3. Be a responsible parent to the children
4. Be open to the children
5. Be a decent parent
Colossians 3:21 NIV admonishes that, fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.
How you treat your parents is an indicator of how people will treat in your age of parenthood.
