In the Bible we learn that, "except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God,"(John 3:5) and we also learn that baptism is "for the remission of sins."(Mark 1:4). The importance of baptism is clear in the Bible, yet, many people are still confused today on how baptism is to be performed.

However, Jesus Christ taught us in the Book of Mormon how baptism should be done. In 3 Nephi 11 starting in verse 23 He said,
"Behold, ye shall go down and stand in the water, and in my name shall ye baptize them.

24 And now behold, these are the words which ye shall say, calling them by name, saying:

25 Having authority given me of Jesus Christ, I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.

26 And then shall ye immerse them in the water, and come forth again out of the water.

27 And after this manner shall ye baptize in my name..."

How would knowing the correct way of baptism make you feel? How can you know if these words Christ spoke in the Book of Mormon are really true?

This Christmas let us all remember the real reason to why we celebrate this amazing holiday.

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder; and his name shall be called, Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace"
(2 Nephi 19:6)

Today let us remember the greater gift that ever was given, let us remember that unto us a Savior was born.

2022 years ago Mary and Joseph where confused on where to go after they were rejected a room in the inn. Little did they know that God had a different plan for them, and that plan was better then anything they could have thought of on their own.

Jesus Christ has promised to never leave us alone, even in our darkest and lowest moments. He promises to be there if we just seek Him and follow Him.

What has God blessed you with?

Take the time to thank God! He has given us so much - each breath we take, each smile, blooming flower and falling leaf, each setting sun. Expressing our gratitude connects us with Him, and helps us better appreciate all that we have. The greatest of all being the gift of Jesus Christ!

Matthew chapter 11 ends with Jesus extending a couple of invitations saying, "come unto me" and "learn of me". Learning of Jesus in the scriptures is one way we come unto Him.

We learn not only that He is the Savior of all men and women but also that He knows and loves each of us personally. That He redeems each of us personally. Learning that changes us forever.
