SLAVERY BEFORE VICTORY
Genesis 15:13-14

Then the Lord said to Abram, “You can be sure that your descendants will be strangers in a foreign land, where they will be oppressed as slaves for 400 years.
But I will punish the nation that enslaves them, and in the end they will come away with great wealth.

REFLECTION: Suffering is part of our Christian journey. God intentionally allows His people to pass through difficult situations as a way of training for tomorrow's victory. The Jews lived as slaves for 400 years but at the end they came out with great wealth. Whatever suffering you are going through will not last forever. God will surely bring you out with great wealth tomorrow. Don't give up on Jesus Christ, but rather continue to believe and put your trust in Him and you will surely be victorious at the end.

LET PEACE PREVAIL
Genesis 13:7-8

So disputes broke out between the herdsmen of Abram and Lot. At that time Canaanites and Perizzites were also living in the land.
Finally Abram said to Lot, “Let’s not allow this conflict to come between us or our herdsmen. After all, we are close relatives!

Reflection: We must strive to pursue peace wherever we find ourselves; in the family, workplace, community, church, home, country etc. Do your best to live in peace with all people, for a servant today can become your master tomorrow. Therefore, let peace be your banner wherever you find yourself. We serve the God of peace.

THE POWER OF GOD
Genesis 18:13-14; Jeremiah 32:17

God promised Abraham and Sarah they would have a son through whose offspring the world would be blessed. After this promise, Abraham and Sarah were growing older and Sarah was still barren. When told she
would be the mother of Abraham's child, the child of promise, Sarah laughed. In response to her laughter, God spoke these words to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I surely bear a child, since l am old?" ls anything too hard for the LORD? At the appointed time l will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son."
One of the attributes of God is that He is 'Omnipotent which means 'All Powerful. We see the power of God demonstrated rignt from creation till today. The power of God knows no bounds. The Omnipotence of God
means that God's power is unlimited and He can do anything that is
consistent with His nature, character and purpose. This is the God that we serve. He is the owner of all power. Trust in Him for He can do anything that He has purposed and promised to do for you.

PRAYER GUIDE:
Dear Faithful God, I trust you for all your promises concerning my life. Let them come to pass. Amen!

WHO IS GOD?
Exodus 14:1; Exodus 3:14

Who is God? This question has been asked by many while several others have attempted to give answers. We shall
learn about God and some of His attributes such as omnipotence, His sovereignty, His love, His faithfulness, His holiness and His mercy. God is eternal, infinite, perfect and incomprehensible
Being. He is the creator of all things, who preserves and governs
all by His almighty power and wisdom. In the Old Testament, the existence of God is self-evident. All the things around us, both animate and inanimate, prove that there is the existence of a
Supreme Being. God has revealed himself to mankind through His
names.The names of God, therefore reveal, in part, some aspects
of His nature, character and His involvement in human affairs. One of the attributes of God is 'Omnipotence' which means 'All Powerful'. We see the power of God demonstrated right from
creation till today. The power of God knows no bounds. The Omnipotence of God means that God's power is unlimited and He
can do anything that is consistent with His nature, character and
purpose. Much as our God is all powerful, He is also a sovereign
God. By His Sovereignty we mean that God makes His plans and carries them out in His own time and way and according to His own purpose. That is, the will of God is in His own hands. He rules over
all creation and does not lend Himself to the full knowledge and understanding of mankind. He is transcendent and greater than any human being can imagine or conceive.
Again, God is love. Love is the essential, self-giving nature of
God. God's love is demonstrated in His goodness to all people,
both His saints and even to unbelievers. God's love to mankind is
unconditional. God is also a faithful God. The faithfulness of God
means that He will always do what He has said and He wil fulfil what He has promised. God is not a man, that He should lie, neither
is He a son of man, that He should repent. The faithfulness of God means that He is a reliable Being to be trusted and relied upon.
Human beings always disappoint but God never disappoints. Holiness implies purity, soundness and that which is set apart. God in His holiness is separated from or exalted above other things.
Holiness refers to God's moral excellence and perfection. Holiness
is a virtue which inspires awe and goodness. The mercy of God means His pity, compassion, and kindness toward people. It is God extending patience to those who deserve to be punished. Mercy is not something God owes to us, but is something God extends in kindness to those who do not deserve it.
In the New Testament, the ultimate existence of God is revealed in Jesus Christ. (John 1:1,14). God is alive so worship Him with your
entire being.

GRIEVING AND INSENSITIVITY TO THE HOLY SPIRIT

Ephesians 4:30-32;Galatians 5:16-18

Grieving the Holy Spirit is making Him sad or sorrowful by sinning after the Holy Spirit has cautioned you of it. The born-again Christian on the day of salvation was convicted by the Holy Spirit and sealed for the day of redemption. As a friend who helps you to overcome sin, He will continuously draw your attention to the sins that will come your way.
He will speak and direct you on what to do. When you reject His counsel, He will become sorrowful and with time remain silent or withdraw from
you. When this happens, you will become insensitive to Him and will not hear Him. The devil will then take advantage of your insensitivity to the Holy Spirit, and gradually take you back to your old life (the flesh) thereby injecting doubt and unbelief concerning your salvation.
Put in much effort to yield and walk in the Spirit through prayer and
obedience to the word of God. Be attentive to the quiet voice you hear
speaking to you to do what is right. You have an obligation not to live
according to the dictates of the flesh.

Dear Holy Spirit, please draw me nearer to you. Amen!

EVIL ASSOCIATION, A HINDRANCE

Proverbs 4:14;1 Corinthians 15:33

The new life you have now in Christ requires that you disassociate yourself from unbelieving friends who are capable of influencing you negatively. Proverbs 4:14 admonishes you not to go where evil people do go. To maintain your new life in Christ you need to watch out for your previous friends who had a negative influence on you. Bad company
corrupts good character. The best you can do for such friends is to share
your newfound faith in Christ with them, and pray that they come to the saving knowledge of Christ Jesus. If they do not repent, then you have to stay away from them. However, keep praying constantly to God for them, hoping that they will one day give their lives to Christ.

PRAYER GUIDE:
Dear Lord Jesus, please ground my feet so I may not get swayed away. Amen!

CHILDREN BY ADOPTION

John 1:12-13;Romans 8:14-17

One of the greatest privileges we have as born-again Christians
is the adoption as children. Once you welcome Jesus as Lord
of your life, you become born again. To be born makes you physically alive and places you in your parents' family (John 1:13).
Likewise, being born of God also makes you spiritually alive and puts
you into God's family (John 1:12). Thus, since you have accepted Jesus
Christ as Lord and Saviour, you have become a child of God by default.
In the Roman culture, an adopted child lost all rights in his or her old
family and gained all the rights of a legitimate child in his or her new family. Such a child becomes a full heir to his or her new father's estate (Romans 8:14-15). Likewise, when a person becomes a Christian, he
or she gains all the privileges and responsibilities of a child in God's family.

PRAYER GUIDE:
I believe that Jesus Christ died and resurrected to pay for all my sins. I hereby accept Him as the Lord and personal Saviour of my life today. I will live for Him all the days of my life. Amen!

NO CONDEMNATION FOR THOSE IN CHRIST.

Romans 8:1;2 Corinthians 5:17-21

The Bible is so explicit about the position of believers immediately they accept Jesus as Lord and Personal Saviour - “Therefore, thereis now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Rom.8:1), but unfortunately, some people after accepting Jesus Christ, still don't believe that their sins are forgiven. The enemy as a result of their ignorance dwells on their past lives to create doubt and uncertainties to take them back to the world. You need to understand that, as a born again Christian, you can only have assurance of salvation when you believe that salvation is not your doing, but God's act of redemption in Jesus Christ conceived before the foundation of the world and carried out by God through the ministries of His providence in real-time.
Apostle Paul in his letter to the church in Corinth disclosed that when someone genuinely repents and comes to Christ he is a new creation. The old life of sin is gone and forgiven, all this is from God who reconciled us to Himself through Christ. He does not count your sins against you anymore. This is good news.

PRAYER GUIDE:
Dear Living God, thank you for saving me through your son Jesus Christ. Please equip me for every good work. Amen!

YOU HAVE BEEN SAVED

2Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 5:1

When a person accepts Jesus as Lord and personal Saviour, he/she is saved. This means that the person is fully delivered from sin and its penalty. You are no more under the devil's
control. The devil, however, will do his best to ensure that you lose
sight of the fact that you have been saved.
Thankfully, God wants you to be continually assured of the fact that
you are saved and completely saved. He wants to keep you convinced of the fact that He has truly saved you. If you truly accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour, then you are made new, saved, delivered, and redeemed from sin. You become holy in God's sight, no more a sinner, liberated from the power of the devil.
He further assures us in Galatians 5:1 that we have been given freedom
in Christ and so we should not allow anyone or anything to enslave us.

PRAYER GUIDE:
Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I believe that you died to pay for all my sins, I invite you into my life today as my Lord and personal Saviour of my life. Amen!

TAKING OVER YOUR PROFESSIONAL FIELD

Mathew 5:13-16

It is difficult to separate a professsional lifestyle from one's belief. What Every Christian does in his or her workplace is paramount in the kingdom of God here on earth as it is in heaven. In the passage above, Jesus commands us to make our faith evident to everyone around us. "You are the light of the world. A city on the hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and pit it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven".
But did Jesus really mean at work? The answer is yes. One cannot possess two lifestyles, one for work and another for church. Every Christian should not struggle to show forth virtue such as integrity, trustworthy and and must be a high definition of transparent life in the secular workplace. Living transparent and authentic life means allowing your relationship with God illuminate every environment you enter including your workplace. The place to workout your faith isn't just at church. What you do at the workplace is your ministry, just as much as singing in the choir is, at church.
Ask yourself the questions below and sincerely answer them in your heart.
1. Do your actions at work reflects your Christian principles?
2. Are your pursuing as excelence, as working for the Lord, not for men?
3. Do you see your workplace as a mission field?
Do you see yourself as a light in your workplace?
In the verse 16 of the passage we read, the Bile says, In the same way, let your light which represents your good deeds at work shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven".

PRAYER GUIDE:
Pray that God will give you courage to show forth good deeds at your workplace. Amen!

DARE TO STAND OUT

Daniel 3:1-18, 25-30

The Hebrew youth were faithful in their business with God, heaven took cognizance of them. They stood before kings not mere men because they stood out among their fellow countrymen who were also captives in the land of Babylon. Their bold step opened the window of opportunity where God manifested His Supreme authority over matter, space and time.
Before you can take over, there is a place where separation from the multitude is required, the world as we know it is characterized with the " *If you can't beat them join them".* You and I will be the most miserable people on earth if we accept that. In order to take over, you need to really understand why you are not yet standing out. It could be because of:

1. Lost vision: We have forgotten our first love.
2. Compromise : we are still eager to always take the easy way out.
3. Equally yoked with unbelievers: We are still holding fast unto the world.
4. Pursuit of illusions: we are still playing by the devil's rule.

We have to come back to the Word of God which is our compass, secondly, it needs to be fully adhered to without reservations.
This is possible by determination, commitment and help from the Holy Spirit because His presence in your life will show forth His fruits (Galatians 5:22-23) making you an exceptional individual, who is ready to take over towns, cities and countries for Christ. To the devil strategically presents us with enticing illusions that gradually shifts our focus from the real target. Nebuchadnezzar the king, willingly repeated the order just so the Hebrew youths would see an opportunity to rethink of saving themselves. Likewise, the devil will present a scene that makes us feel we have no other option than to give up. Why not take a stand, be different so that Christ would have a reason to manifest His power in your case.

PRAYER GUIDE:
My Lord Jesus, forgive my ignorance. I am weak and lost, please grant me the sight, courage and strength to be a good ambassador of you. Amen!
