The Light 🕯️

Mat 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

Exposition
Jesus is telling us we are the light of this world, come to think of it. What are the characteristics of light?

Light is something that gives of life when connected to its source of energy, so your light will continuously shine as long as you abide in Christ Jesus. No matter how bright a light shines it would not turn things around it to ablaze when it goes of without lighting one of its kind, so will a believer find himself in the darkest when he/she disconnect himself from God without seeing any glimpse of light in anyone around him if he/she fail to preach the gospel to one another. The presence of light is felt most when it's turned off, so a believers essence is felt most when he is no longer doing the good things Christ expects from him to be doing. Many will use light to create many things profitable but would not appropriate its important if it put out so is the fate of a follower of Christ.

Remark
Tell a friend to tell a friend that Jesus Christ Love you. Maybe that friend of yours you are giving attention much is what God is going to use as the light to uplift you when you find yourself in the valley of shadow of death. Remember Jesus Christ Love you 💞 abide in him and he in you so that your light may never run out.

_Parable of the weeds_

Mat 13:24b-25 The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

_Exposition_
The field here represent we humanity [Ref Isa 32:15, Jude 2:28] and the good seed represent the word of God while the tare represent the knowledge of the devil.

*So the big question is which of the two seeds do you allow to grow in you?*
I was watching a friends status and the holy spirit intuitively drew my attention to something about one of the dominating strategies the devil uses to plant his seeds in us i.e memes, comedy, motivation etc.

One of the dominating means which the devil uses to garnish and plant his seeds in us is through funny ways. This is because when something seems funny we laugh while taking the knowledge of it content into mind without considering it properly. Also when something seems funny our sense of analytics is being shattered by the adrenaline that triggered us to laugh. Making it educating us without hurting our conscience.

_Masking as the gift of God (Mimicking the gift of God)_
When we look into the bible the only fruit that makes us happy is the fruit of *Joy* and the devil cannot give us that but could only fake something similar which is through Comedy, memes, jokes, etc. Mind you I'm not saying comedy, funny memes, etc is bad but the devil is using it as a Vail to cover his seeds to present it to you. So that your sense your sense organs (which the brain) could not detect the kind of seed you are allowing into your life. Example of some of this demonic seed is "never be there for those who wouldn't be there for you(tit for tac)", " never love too much(slowing poisoning your soul with rage and hatred)", never do this or that etc. Remember if you are for Christ you must give off fruit of Christ which is the light that glows around you that darkness could not comprehend and if darkness could not comprehend you. Which means you should not allow darkness to set boundaries(out space the glow) for you (educate you) but rather let the good in you drive the darkness (bad seed in others) out. This is the time that your eyes be open and your spiritual understanding be awakened [2 Cor 4:4].

Therefore live a life having in mind that you and darkness cannot live together and give no room for the evil seed of the devil to shatter the good in you by allowing tare to grow in you.

_Affirmation_
• I give off the light of God everywhere I go.

• My eyes is open and my spiritual understanding is awakened.

_Prayer_
• I pray may you receive an answer to that request you have have been praying about all this while in Jesus name.

2Ki 3:27 Then he took his eldest son that should have reigned in his stead, and offered him [for] a burnt offering upon the wall. And there was great indignation against Israel: and they departed from him, and returned to [their own] land.

_Exposition_
The story talk about the Moabites who rebelled against Jehoram the son of Ahab after the death of their father. For they use to pay a yearly tribute of 100,000 rams and wool of 100,000 rams which the king(Mesha) decided not to pay again.

_Summary(2 kings 3:1-27_
This provoke the king of Israel(Jehoram) and he decided to war against the Moabites(descendants of Lot). So Jehoram united with the king of Judah(Jehoshaphat [kingdom split after Solomon allowed worship of foreign God's]) and the king of Edom. Afterwards Jehoshaphat enquired of the lord about the outcome of the battle, which God promised victory.

The leader of this battle here is Jehoram who is the second son of Ahab and Jezebel. In his reign because of politics he put away Baal worship and introduce false worship(worship of God through golden calf as Jeroboam did in his reign) to become allies with King of Judah. So in the actual sense he did not do evil as his parents but he had his own motives that is why he never enquired of the Lord the outcome of the battle but Jehoshaphat did. Which proves his heart wasn't with God. So the battle field even though God did promised victory they only got half the victory and when king Mesha of Moab saw that the chances to survive was slim. He had to to sacrifice his son which was to rule in his stead and there was a great indignation (madness befall) upon the Israelites and they all depart from to their house. Without finishing the war.
_Lesson_
• The kind of leader you have determine how far you can achieve in life.

• Because the king of Israel heart wasn't with God, the sacrifice of Mesha could prevail against them. So therefore how can you defeat your enemy completely if you and the enemy belongs to one master(the devil)? Give your life to Christ today and be separated from the darkness.

• Even though King Jehoshaphat was in right standing with God because of the company he involved himself in he couldn't achieve complete victory.{Psalm 1:1}
