BRETHREN, PRAY FOR US!
When the Word of God is preached, it meets so many responses and reactions. Some may receive it as the very word of God. Others will not. Some will believe it while others will doubt it. There are those who will support it and there are those who will resist it. One thing you as a member of a church can do for your pastor is to pray that whenever your Pastor stands to proclaim the word of God, it will run swiftly, it will be glorified, spread rapidly, run its course, accomplish its purpose and will triumph in what it is intended to achieve.
You also have to make sure that you pray against both physical and spiritual resistance against the preaching and teaching ministry of your pastor. Indeed, a good message will not achieve much if it is not backed by much prayer. This responsibility is not solely for the pastor but all who believe in his ministry. As a member of a church, you should also ensure that your posture, attitude and reactions when the word is being preached will not demotivate the preacher, distract other members or hinder what God wants to do.
So, don't just go to church. Pray for yourself that as you go, you will receive all that God has prepared for you. Most importantly, pray for your Pastor that the word of God that will be preached/ taught by him/her will have free course and accomplish God's purpose. Pray against demonic forces that fight against your pastor's preaching of the word with the intention of making sure it does not accomplish its purpose. Pray that the Word of God will triumph in you, in those who come to church and in the service. There are so many things that fight against the preaching of God's Word. Brethren, PRAY FOR YOUR PASTOR!
_"Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you' 2 Thessalonians 3:1 (NKJV)_
Shalom!
