After many years of marriage, it was observed that a spouse has been thanking the partner three times a without any observable reasons. So one day, this thankful spouse was asked why the strange unceasing appreciation to the partner.

Now it came to pass after this, that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon died, and his son reigned in his stead. And David said I will shew kindness unto Hanun the son of Nahash because his father showed kindness to me. And David sent messengers to comfort him concerning his father. So the servants of David came into the land of the children of Ammon to Hanun, to comfort him. But the princes of the children of Ammon said to Hanun, Thinkest thou that David doth honour thy father, that he hath sent comforters unto thee? are not his servants come unto thee for to search, and to overthrow, and to spy out the land? Wherefore Hanun took David's servants, shaved them, cut off their garments in the midst hard by their buttocks, and sent them away.

Misinformation is a situation where an untrue message is delivered to someone. It may come from misconception, mishearing, misinterpretation, distortion, alteration etc., of the facts of the situation. In the verse above, Hanun was misinformed by the princes of the land. They either didn't understand David's actions ( misconception) or deliberately misinterpreted or distorted the facts to satisfy their selfish interest or pursue a negative agenda which could be to destabilise the throne of Hanun by provoking war with David. This means people may misinform us intentionally or unintentionally.
There are various avenues of misinformation: Ignorance or lack of knowledge, lack of Wisdom, fear of losses, laziness or excessive trust or reliance on people, and quick reactions to information etc., Hanun may have been a victim of any of these avenues, judging from the way he allowed himself to be manipulated by the princes. Know that we are always misinformed through our weaknesses that allow both negative people and unsuspecting individuals to access our intelligence quotient (IQ) to alter our common sense (CS).
Therefore, we should be very careful about who informs us, what information is carried to us, our reactions to the information and the likely consequences of the information. In our time, the princes of Amnon are the people who are always telling us negative things about others, who have exclusive news and who are over-defensive of our course of action. Misinformation can have disastrous consequences both in the spiritual and the physical realms. After being misinformed, Hanun reacted wrongly and invited war into his kingdom. Misinformation had led to murder, divorce, dismissal, imprisonment, and the collapse of friendships, partnerships, businesses, ministries etc., on many occasions.
In the prevention of misinformation in our lives, we must learn to be very knowledgeable about the situation and have the appropriate wisdom for implementation. Take time to study the character of the people who give you information. Don't be quick to react to volatile or flammable issues. Pray for the activation of your spiritual eyes, ears and mind to be able to handle information that is beyond your physical capabilities. After Hanun realised he had been misinformed, he should have been quick to carry out damage control; Retraction and apology, compensation to your victims and condemnation and sanctions against perpetrators.
As believers, we should be aware that misinformation is one of the powerful arsenals of the devil and his evil individuals. Even as you journey through the year, make sure you are not misinformed about anyone, a process or a system so that you don't lose direction in life. Therefore BE SAPIENT AS SERPENT AND SAGACIOUS AS SAGE. Those who have ears.........open them wide!

‘Build houses and settle down. Plant gardens and eat what they produce. Marry and have sons and daughters. Find wives for your sons and allow your daughters to get married so that they too can have sons and daughters. Grow in number; do not dwindle where I sent you as exiles enjoy peace and prosperity. Pray to the Lord for it. For as it prospers you will prosper.’

A serious-minded person is full of ambitions and aspirations in life. In the night, he thinks about how to offset the challenges ahead to gather resources to build his spiritual and physical life. In the day, the ex*****on of plans and programmes takes control of the strength and mentality of such persons. We go through these for many years so that there can be a fulfilled and meaningful life. The products of the successes and failures, tears and sweat, pains and anguish, acceptance and rejection are what God has confirmed in the verse above. He is expecting us to use the blessings and grace he gives to own our destiny and make his purpose for our lives a reality. He has categorically indicated to us that He expects us to express our capabilities in the areas of:
1. Homeownership: He told them to build houses and settle down: He expects us to own a home where we can settle down to fulfil the purpose of our lives. God wants to see his children being capable of managing their resources to own comfortable places of rest for the family. This means God does not endorse homelessness and continuous rentals. He has charged us to settle down in our own homes. My research indicates He is not a God of second or third-class life situations. He has promised to make us the head and not the tail. So work towards owning a befitting accommodation to honour His name. Never think that He is happy to see you renting everything in your life. That's not his promise.
2. Business ownership: He told them to plant gardens and eat what they produce. Meaning, God expects us to have reliable sources of funds to take care of our needs and wants in life. He commands us to own businesses and be financially independent. God does not endorse the situation of always working for others and being applicants instead of employers. He expects us to lend and not keep borrowing. From my research prior to this message, financial dependency is not a sign of healthy Christian life. No matter your resources available, learn to own your source of livelihood. God is waiting for you to generate more resources to be able to fulfil His principles of giving and helping the needy. He needs CEOs and directors who challenge the political, cultural and socioeconomic systems with their influence, wealth, power and authority
3. Family ownership: He indicated to them to marry and have sons and daughters. Meaning, to have a responsible family life. It also confirms that God does not endorse placing single life ahead of marriage. He prefers a family life to a single life. Again, He expects us to own children and take care of them. So sit down and own a husband or a wife to prevent promiscuity and the temptation of tempering with other people's families. Own a family so that you can have a reliable source of support in times of need and old age. He is not a God of miserable ends that can affect our relationship with him.
4. Responsibility ownership: He said that they should build families for their children. Responsible parenthood is what God require of us. He expects us to guide them to establish a continuous life and make sure they continue what we are doing. He wants us to build a future for our children so that when we are not capable, they will be capable of shouldering and protecting the destiny of the family. What we give to the children is what they repackage to give us in old incapable days. God wants us to successfully transfer the knowledge, wisdom and experiences we gather in life to the next generation. He is not a God of irresponsibility and recklessness
5. Growth ownership: He told them to grow in number, don't dwindle. God needs us to have a sense of progression and perpetuity. That is to multiply the seed of blessing he has given us into uncountable numbers. According to Him, retrogression is not an option for his children. We are required to own the growth of our lives. That's to aim at the topmost in our fields of endeavour. He is not a God of stagnation and unproductivity. He needs people who can have a story to tell the young ones and motivation for believers who lack the confidence to move higher in life.
6. Social ownership; they were told to work for the peace and prosperity of the city: God wants us to have a sense of social responsibility. He expects us to channel some of our resources into developing our communities, relationships and groups. Which means intentionally investing in the peace and prosperity of the land with both physical and spiritual resources ( prayer). The peace and prosperity of the land come back to us because we are beneficiaries of the prevailing conditions in our environment.
So you see, God is highly interested in how we spend our resources and our the development of our lives. Never think God is happy with a low standard of life where everything is by the hustle and you are always looking up to people for survival. Poverty and hardship, mediocrity and inferiority, lack of prominence, influence and fame and the like are not symbols of righteousness. They are never a blessing from God and therefore shouldn't be cherished. BE SAPIENT AS A SERPENT AND SAGACIOUS AS A SAGE. Those who have ears.......... Open them wide,!

🛑 HEED IN THE HEAT🛑

Even now siege ramps have been built up around the city to capture it. War, starvation, and disease are sure to make the city fall into the hands of the Babylonians who are attacking it. Lord, you threatened that this would happen. Now you can see that it is already taking place. The city is sure to fall into the hands of the Babylonians. Yet, despite this, you, Lord God, have said to me, “Buy that field with silver and have the transaction legally witnessed.”’ Jeremiah 32:24‭-‬25 NET

The condition of Jeremiah in the verse is typical of what many are going through as believers. Things are not favourable but still, God is demanding services from us as if He doesn't know our predicaments. That should tell us that in the kingdom business, challenges are not obstacles. He expects to keep the faith and the ministry in season and out of season (2 Timothy 4:2). Jeremiah was facing these heat waves.
1. Capture: the enemy was on the verge of taking custody of the city. This means loss of freedom, properties and possibly, lives. Probably, things are so weak on your side that, the collapse of ministry, businesses, marriage etc., has become a possibility. According to God, keep doing what you are supposed to do in the vineyard of Christ because He is aware of the situation
2. War: Jeremiah was an eminent combatant in his operational area. Jeremiah probably expected God to show him how to escape the war. God had something different for him; Jeremiah was told to keep working. The tension in and around the various aspects of your life has put fear in you, but that is not enough grounds to quit.
3. Starvation: Service on empty stomach is difficult to contain. A marriage hungry for love and affection, businesses in need of funds and supplies, the body calling for good health etc. are the various forms of starvation in our lives. According to God, these are not obstacles in his vineyard. No matter the level of emptiness, once, there is breath, keep moving.
4. Diseases: Diseases are conditions that alter the normal function of a system. Marriages, businesses, ministries, policies, programmes and plans can be sick at a point in time. This makes it difficult to procedures to achieve results. Once there is breath and the appropriate strength, diseases are also not considered obstacles in the ministry of Christ.
5. Threats from God: another serious situation is when you are under the sanctions of God. The city was facing the wrath of God but God was asking Jeremiah to keep working. It means even if you have problems with God as a person or as a ministry, that should not stop you from moving forward with the message and work of God.
So in our Christian journey, no matter the heat wave in and around us, we must heed the message of God for him to give us the crown of honour and glory. He knows when to ask you to stop or change direction. BE SAPIENT AS A SERPENT AND SAGACIOUS AS A SAGE. Those who have ears.........open them wide!

THE POWER OF OFFERING

Solomon went up to the bronze altar before the Lord which was at the meeting tent, and he offered up a thousand burnt sacrifices. That night God appeared to Solomon and said to him, “Tell me what I should give you.”

We have already established that there are three types of prayer in a believer's life: prayer by words, prayer by works and prayer by wealth. Depending on the situation at hand, one, two or all of the three may be required to activate God's response to your situation. This means that if you are not aware of what kind of prayer is needed for your situation, you may waste your resources. From our Bible verse, it appears Solomon knew that his situation needed prayer by wealth (offering). Solomon gave an offering and that particular night, he received divine visitation. The second aspect of Solomon's prayer is that, after identifying that offering was what was required, he prayed intensively by giving a very big offering which was also quality enough to touch God's heart. One thing about prayer by offering is that it has the power to summarise all forms of prayer expressions (supplication, request, command, declaration, petition) into a single figure. It also has the power to push all the energy or force of the prayer into a single figure. Prayer by wealth again saves the lengthened period we spend in expressing our words and giving services. So it is short, sharp and very penetrative in the spiritual realms. Just as it is, it has the power to quickly pull the presence of God just as God appeared that night and gave Solomon a blank cheque to fill with whatever he likes. Therefore, don't see giving and offerings as burden that benefit others without you. Again, if the situation wouldn't allow you to pray by works or words, talk to God and express yourself through offering. This is the reason many givers and helpers are wealthy than those who are only interested in praying by words and services. If they can't pray by words or works, they call it a quit. Learn to talk to God in figures with your wealth. Never think the poor or your church needs you to survive. You need them to survive from your poor health, financial crisis, bad marriage, singleness, legal problems etc.BE SAPIENT AS A SERPENT AND SAGACIOUS AS A SAGE.Those who have ears...... ECHOES FROM THE TEMPLE GATE

“Stand in the gate of the Lord’s temple and proclaim this message: ‘Listen, all you people of Judah who have passed through these gates to worship the Lord. Hear what the Lord has to say. The Lord God of Israel who rules over all says: Change the way you have been living and do what is right. If you do, I will allow you to continue to live on this land.
Jeremiah 7:2‭-‬3 NE

The temple of the Lord is a place where we go to seek strength and wisdom to change from our awkward ways. Again, we go to express our gratitude to God and to show Him how great He is.
At the temple, these three factors move together to make us worthy in the presence of God and to obtain his promises for our lives.
For this reason, any time there is a downward change in any of the factors, the presence of God is agitated to look for correction or to restore order. So Jeremiah was charged to get the people to right the wrongs and to ensure they don't lose the promise of God for them.
Today, you are the Jeremiah of the season, but we are not at the temple gate to warn ourselves and the others who are turning the table of faith upside down. When was the last time you stood at the gate of your family, friends, coworkers, co-tenants, church etc, to proclaim the will of God for the people? We are losing God's promises for our marriages, businesses, ministries, health, communities and the nation because there is no echo from our gates. Many of our problems don't need prayers and fasting or a spiritual direction. They need a change in our way of life for positive results to prevail. Look for the Jeremiah of the season. and listen to echoes from the gates of your life so that you don't lose God's promise to keep you in ministry and position in life. There is always an echo calling for a positive change in every aspect of our lives. BE SAPIENT AS A SERPENT AND SAGACIOUS AS A SAGE. Those who have ears.....
