GRACE TO DEAL WITH LIFE CRISIS – BETRAYAL AND BROKEN TRUST

Matthew 10:21 (NIV) says: “Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death.”

Betrayal is not something new, it has existed even within the closest human relationships like family. Betrayal is one of life’s deepest wounds because it comes from those we trust the most. When someone you love and rely upon breaks that trust, the pain is hard to explain.

Today we are starting a series on how to deal with different crises in life. The first crisis that God placed in my heart is betrayal and broken promises. Betrayal is a psychosocial crisis because it disrupts both social relationships and psychological well being. It attacks our emotions and destroys our ability to relate with others freely. Without the help of God, it is very hard for a normal human being to handle this kind of crisis.

Jesus said in Matthew 10:16 (NIV): “I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.” This means that betrayal is part of our life’s journey, but with wisdom and innocence we can overcome it. Many ask, “Why did God allow it?” Even prayerful people have been betrayed. One woman once told me her husband betrayed her and left her, even though she believed God gave her a sign he was the right man.

You must know betrayal is not always because you made a mistake. It doesn’t mean you are a bad person. Sometimes God allows it for a greater reason. Many times betrayal removes the wrong people from our lives. A right person will not betray you. Those who betray you are only showing their true selves.

The secret is to let go and forgive. Do not hold bitterness; it limits God from lifting you higher. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you strength, heal your heart, and wash away the pain with the blood of Jesus. Forgiveness is freedom. Do not allow the memory of betrayal to live rent-free in your heart. Instead, trust God’s plan, for in the end, His plans are always good.

Prayer: Lord, give me strength to forgive, heal my heart, and guide me through betrayal into your perfect will.

TOPIC: HE KEEPS FROM FALLING.

BIBLE TEXT: Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy.(Jude 1:24).

MESSAGE:
Our triumph in all sphere of life is only possible by the sustaining power of God, as we seek and leverages on His strength.

One move you shouldn't make is to face those forces coarsing you to sin and failure in the energy of the flesh.
..For by strength shall no man prevail.(1 Samuel 2:9).

I have learnt that our ability, efforts or smartness are not sufficient to give us victory from the influential powers of sin, failure and defeat, except His hands will sustain us.

Therefore, bear in mind as you look ahead this year that falling is eminent where His keeping grace is absence.,

Bible said,

Except the Lord build a house, the builder built in vain...( 127:1).

Those resolutions is not too strong to empower you over the forces that hold sway in the affairs of men, only as God uphold you will it be actualize.

I don't know the fear the devil has breed within you on the possibility of failing again as it where last year.

Hold on, His everlasting arms is always there to uphold you from sliding.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.(Psalms 46:1).

No matter the schemes, you will not fall.

“Look up…and count the stars…That’s how many descendants you will have!” Ge 15:5 NLT



Vision is the God-given ability to see the invisible. Without it, “people…stumble all over themselves” (Pr 29:18 MSG). When God told Abraham he would be the father of many nations, he and Sarah were old and childless. Naturally speaking, it looked impossible. So God “took Abram outside and said…‘Look up…and count the stars…That’s how many descendants you will have!’” It wasn’t enough to hear what God said: Abraham needed to see it in his mind’s eye. And although the promise wasn’t fulfilled for twenty years, every night when Abraham looked up at the heavens, the stars were a constant reminder of God’s faithfulness. Woodrow Wilson said, “No man that does not see visions will ever realize any high hope or undertake any high enterprise.” To give birth to something, you must first conceive it by seeing it through the eyes of faith and burning the image on the canvas of your mind. Jesus said, “If your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness” (Mt 6:22-23 NAS). Legend has it, when Michelangelo looked at a chunk of marble the owner told him was worthless, Michelangelo said, “It’s priceless to me. There is an angel locked inside, and I must set it free.” What you “see” will change the direction of your life. Like a thermostat, it dictates how high you rise or how low you fall. And the good news is, no matter how dark things look on the outside, today God can give you a fresh vision and a new future.
