YOUTH & STUDENTS WEEK CELEBRATION DAY1
EXPOSITION MESSAGE ON THE THEME "EMBRACING OUR MISSIONARY LEGACY AS YOUTH"
Bible verse
2 TIMOTHY 4:5
BY: Bro.Gideon Tetteh(General Sec.)
*INTRODUCTION*
Dear colleagues youth, today we gather as a community of young people who are passionate about our faith and committed to making a difference in our world. As we reflect on our theme, *"Embracing Our Missionary Legacy as Youth,"* I want to ask you: *What does it mean to be a missionary?* Is it only about traveling to far-off lands to preach the gospel? Or is it something more?
*The Missionary Mandate*
Our scripture for today, *2 Timothy 4:5, says, "But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry."* Here, the Apostle Paul is charging Timothy, a young leader, to remain focused and committed to his ministry, despite the challenges he may face.
As youth, we are also called to be missionaries, to spread the gospel and make disciples of all nations. But what does this look like in our daily lives?
*Embracing Our Missionary Legacy*
To embrace our missionary legacy as youth, we must first understand that *being a missionary is not just about what we do, but about who we are.* It's about living a life that reflects the values of the kingdom of God: love, compassion, justice, and mercy.
As Presbyterian youth, we stand on the shoulders of giants who have gone before us, pioneers who have sacrificed and served to spread the gospel in our communities. We must honor their legacy by continuing their work, by being the hands and feet of Jesus in our world today.
*So, what can we do to embrace our missionary legacy?*
1. *Share the gospel*: We must be bold and unashamed to share the good news of Jesus Christ with our friends, family, and community.
2. *Serve others*: We must look for opportunities to serve others, to demonstrate the love of Christ in practical ways.
3. *Live with integrity*: We must strive to live lives that reflect the values of the kingdom, lives that are characterized by honesty, kindness, and compassion.
*Conclusion*
Embracing our missionary legacy is not just about what we do, but about who we are. It's about living a life that reflects the values of the kingdom of God. As we go forth from this gathering, let us remember that *we are called to be missionaries,* to spread the gospel and make disciples of all nations. Let us be bold, let us be courageous, and let us be faithful to the call.
God bless you 🙏
