Government Commends Church of Pentecost for Sheltering Ghanaians During South Africa Xenophobic Attacks

Accra, Ghana – The Government of Ghana has commended The Church of Pentecost for providing shelter and humanitarian support to Ghanaian nationals who fled their homes during the recent xenophobic attacks in South Africa, describing the Church's intervention as a remarkable demonstration of compassion and national solidarity.
The commendation was made by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, during the arrival of the second batch of Ghanaian evacuees who returned home under the Government's ongoing repatriation programme.
According to the Minister, congregations of The Church of Pentecost in Pretoria and Johannesburg opened their doors to stranded Ghanaians who had been forced to flee their homes following the attacks, offering them temporary shelter and support while arrangements were being made for their evacuation.
Hon. Ablakwa praised the Church for standing with vulnerable Ghanaians during one of the most difficult periods in their lives, noting that its intervention reflected the values of compassion, humanity and service to others.
