FAITH ON FIRE: ASSEMBLIES OF GOD EASTERN REGION ’A’ CHRISTMAS CONVENTION CONCLUDES WITH SPIRITUAL REVIVAL:
Koforidua, Ghana - The Assemblies of God Eastern Region ’A’ Christmas Convention has drawn to a close, leaving a trail of spiritual renewal and inspiration among pastors and members. The four-day event, held at Riis Presby Model School Park in Koforidua, was a veritable feast of faith, with powerful sermons, fervent prayers, and jubilant worship.
The convention kicked off on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, with a stirring call to believers to cultivate a lifestyle of unwavering prayer, themed "Pray Without Ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5:17). The inaugural sermon, delivered by Rev. Dr. Arbert Anane, Eastern Region ‘A’ Superintendent, unveiled the 2026 theme for Assemblies of God: "The Faith of Our Fathers" (Hebrews 11:1). He powerfully expounded that faith is anchored on conviction, commitment, and trust, rather than comfort or sight, declaring, "Our God is able to turn our situation around for good."
On the second night, Rev. Emmanuel Ghartey, District Pastor of Okorase, preached a heart-stirring message on "The Love of Christ in this Christmas Season" (John 3:16-18), unveiling the boundless love of the Messiah and calling believers to deeper devotion.
The third night, Friday, December 19, 2025, featured Rev. Albert Anane delivering a transformative sermon on "The Prayer of Faith" (James 5:13-15, Hebrews 11:4, 5, 8, 13, 17). He highlighted four key aspects of prayer:
- The prayer of faith releases might
- The prayer of faith brings healing
- The prayer of faith releases from suffering
- The prayer of faith saves from sin
On Saturday, the Regional Superintendent preached on "The Faith of Our Fathers and the Power of Prayer" (Hebrews 11:1, Mark 11:24), highlighting:
1. The faith of our fathers was transferred through prayer (2 Timothy 1:5)
2. The faith of our fathers was sustained by prayer (Hebrews 11:13)
The climax of the convention, on Sunday, December 21, 2025, featured Rev. Dr. Albert Anane preaching on "The Faith Exploits" (Hebrews 11:29-31). He emphasized faith's transformative power, citing examples from biblical heroes:
- Faith enables exploits, as seen in the Israelites crossing the Red Sea and Jericho's walls falling
- Faith defies logic, producing tangible results and supernatural power
- Faith manifests in visible actions, impacting lives and releasing redemptive grace
Rev. Anane encouraged attendees to cultivate unwavering faith, declaring, "By faith, you will do exploits," and, "The walls of Jericho shall fall – just walk around it."
The convention was marked by jubilant worship, fervent prayers, and a sense of spiritual renewal among attendees. Retired ministers, pastors, and members from local churches in Koforidua and beyond attended the event, with many expressing gratitude for the spiritual feast.
Assemblies of God Eastern Region ’A’ Christmas Convention has left a lasting impact on the spiritual landscape of Koforidua and beyond. As believers return to their homes and churches, they carry with them a fresh flame of faith, hope, and determination to pray without ceasing and do exploits in the name of Jesus Christ.
