CARE CONNECT 2026
As part of the 2026 Drug Addiction Treatment, Management, and Education Campaign β CARE CONNECT 2026 β the Koforidua HUM Pastor, Ps. James Amoah-Mensah, together with a dedicated team of HUM workers, visited Pentecost Senior High School to educate students and create awareness on the dangers of substance abuse and addiction among the youth.
Also present at the programme were Ovr. Da-Rocha Ampofo, the School Chaplain, and Elder Charles Asante, Assistant Chaplain, who offered their support and encouragement throughout the outreach.
During the interactive educational session, students were taken through:
the major causes of substance abuse,
the progressive stages of addiction,
common myths associated with drug use,
inspiring stories of young people who have recovered from different forms of addiction, and
practical ways of seeking help and support.
The programme provided students with the opportunity to openly discuss challenges affecting young people today while receiving guidance, counselling, and hope for a better future.
At the end of the programme, 36 students surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ and expressed the desire to receive various forms of counselling, mentorship, and support.
To ensure continuous growth and transformation, the HUM team has begun a discipleship and follow-up programme to nurture and support the students in their newfound faith and personal development.
CARE CONNECT 2026 continues to stand as a beacon of hope, restoration, and transformation, reaching out to young people with the message that freedom, healing, and purpose are possible through proper support systems and the saving power of Jesus Christ.
