HUM KOFORIDUA SECTOR ORGANIZES VACATION SCHOOL FOR VULNERABLE KIDS CLUB AT DENSUANO

«“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”
— Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV)»

As part of its efforts to minister to children within its target groups, particularly vulnerable children, the Home and Urban Missions (HUM) Koforidua Sector organized a vacation school session for children and teenagers of the Densuano Kids Club on 13th August 2026.

The programme was led by the Koforidua Sector Pastor, Ps James Amoah-Mensah, together with a team of HUM workers. The initiative seeks to use the long vacation period to provide the children with spiritual nourishment, mentorship, education, and practical guidance for their personal development.

The session, held at the Densuano MA Basic School, formed part of a three-day vacation school programme designed specifically for members of the Densuano Kids Club.

Approximately 65 children and 20 teenagers participated in the opening session. They were taken through Bible lessons, action songs, mentorship sessions, and other interactive activities aimed at nurturing their faith and equipping them for responsible living.

The three-day programme focuses on relevant topics such as career guidance, drug addiction awareness and prevention, academic excellence, personal development, and biblical principles for Christian living. Through these sessions, HUM seeks to empower the children to make positive choices and develop a strong foundation for their future.

Among those present were Mrs Emma Serwaa Amoah-Mensah, wife of the HUM Pastor; Mrs Fatima Owusu Kissi, NEC Member, HUM; Hon. Appiah, Assembly Member for the Densuano Electoral Area; and other HUM workers.

The vacation school programme will continue on 19th and 20th August 2026 at the Densuano MA Basic School. It will also be extended to other Areas in the Sector.

The initiative demonstrates HUM Koforidua Sector’s commitment to reaching vulnerable children with the Gospel while providing holistic support that contributes to their spiritual, educational, social, and personal development.

HUM KOFORIDUA SECTOR ORGANIZES MAIDEN HOME MISSIONS CONFERENCE

Home and Urban Missions (HUM) Koforidua Sector with the Support of Eastern Regional RCC successfully organized the maiden Home Missions Conference for Pentecost International Worship Centres (PIWCs) and HUM Area Leaders at PIWC Koforidua on June 6th 2026.

The conference forms part of the Church's Vision 2028 agenda, "Possessing the nations." with focus to intentionally evangelize and disciple expatriates and other migrant groups living in Ghana. The initiative, spearheaded by HUM, aims to foster strategic collaboration with all PIWCs in the region to effectively reach these target groups with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The conference was chaired by Apostle Dr. Philip Osei-Korsah, Nkawkaw Area Head, Executive Council Member, and RCC Coordinator for the Eastern Region. A total of about 72 participants attended the conference, including Pastor James Amoah-Mensah (HUM Pastor, Koforidua Sector), Mrs. Fatima Owusu Kissi (HUM National Executive Committee Member), PIWC Ministers, Area HUM Coordinators, Home Missions Committee members and some HUM workers from across the region.

Speaking at the conference, Pastor James Amoah-Mensah delivered a presentation on "Understanding Home Missions," where he highlighted the definition, vision and practical approaches to reaching expatriates and migrants with the gospel.

Dr. Mrs. Pauline Settles also shared insights on "How to Share the Gospel with Expatriates," with special emphasis on engaging Chinese and American expatriates. She encouraged participants to be culturally sensitive, intentional, and making our churches attractive to the expatriates.

In his opening address, Apostle Dr. Philip Osei-Korsah spoke from Jude 1:22–23, urging participants to demonstrate compassion toward the unsaved and to make every effort to rescue those who are perishing without Christ. He emphasized that God, in His providence, has brought many nations into Ghana, presenting the Church with a unique opportunity to fulfill the Great Commission without crossing international borders.

The conference provided a platform for strategic discussions, networking, and capacity building, equipping participants to effectively engage expatriates and migrants within their various communities. Participants left challenged and inspired to take deliberate steps toward advancing the Home Missions mandate in the Eastern Region and beyond.

"And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire..." (Jude 1:22–23).
