EMPOWERING YOUTH THROUGH SKILLS AND CRAFT TRAINING.

The St. Dominic Catholic Church, Adweso-Koforidua with enthusiastic youth recently participated in skills and craft training session, where we learned the art of bread making, yoghurt production, and beads crafting. The training was designed to equip us the youth with practical skills, boost our confidence, and foster entrepreneurship. We were also privileged to have some parents present to also learn.

●BREAD MAKING
The youth learned how to make four different types of bread, including [Suger, Tea, Butter and chocolate bread]. Under the guidance of experienced instructor Mr. David Okai who is also a parishioner of the Church. We gained hands-on experience in mixing, kneading, and baking bread. This skill will enable us to bake delicious bread for our families and communities.

●YOGHURT MAKING
In addition to bread making, Mrs. Sarah Bawa, the youth president took us through the process of yoghurt production. We discovered how to create delicious and healthy yoghurt from scratch, including milk preparation, fermentation, and flavoring. This skill will provide us with a nutritious food option and potential business opportunity.

●BEADS CTAFTING
The beads crafting session was a fun and creative outlet for the youth as we were glad to have our dear Sister Judith to take us through the training. We learned various techniques for making beads and creating intricate designs on slippers and wrist as well as the waist and on our necks. This skill will allow us to express our creativity and potentially create handmade jewelry or decorative items.

●ENJOYMENT
After a hard day's work, we did not waste time but to enjoy our bread with our delicious yoghurt and some salad.

●APPRECIATION
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the trainers and organisers of this skills and craft training session. Your dedication and expertise have empowered us with valuable skills that will undoubtedly have a positive impact on our lives. We also appreciate the youth for their enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

●CONCLUSION
The skills training program was a resounding success, empowering we the youth with practical skills and confidence. We're confident that these skills will have a positive impact on our lives and communities. We look forward to seeing the innovative projects and businesses that will emerge from this initiative.
