NEW YEAR 2026 MESSAGE BY MR ANTHONY GODSWAY TSRA, CHAIRMAN, ST AUGUSTINE PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL (PPC)
St Augustine - Abundant Grace
Dear Parishioners, the grace of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
Here we are saying goodbye to 2025 and joyfully ushering in 2026 with goodness, grace, joy, strength, good health, strength, love, peace, happiness and above all God's unlimited mercies into the year
The year, 2025 came with its own ups and downs, good and bad, joy and sadness and has been a wonderful and challenging year for some of us but we survived it.
We lost lovely mothers, hardworking fathers, cheerful siblings and promising children and we might take a very long time to forget the wonderful memories they left us with.
On this note, I humbly ask all of us to stand up and observe a minute of silence to remember our lovely Parishioners who have gone before us to the Lord in 2025. AFETOR NA NA DZUDZOR MA VOR WOβ¦.EYE KEKELI MAVOR NAKLE NA WO.
Dear Parishioners, St Augustine Church has done a lot in the year 2025 to grow in spirit and physically and this year, 2026 is not an exception.
The Church has completed projects initiated last year and has also advanced in some major projects that would face-lift the appearance of the Church.
Fellow Parishioners, the year 2026 has already shown us that it is full of good things for us. First of all, our ordained deacon, Reverend Edmund Elorm Ackuaku will be ordained a Priestβ¦Hip hip hipβ¦.Hurraayyyyy.
I humbly ask you all to continue praying for him for Godβs protection ahead of the big day.
Secondly, our Hohoe Deanery will for the first time host the 2026 Chrism Mass in March 2026.
Finally, I want to bring to our attention that 2026 will end the tenure of this current Local Pastoral Council (LPC) of the Church. This means that the current LPC and PPC administration will end by the close of 2026 and new administration will take over.
I therefore urge all societies and confraternities to start preparing those who will represent you at LPC.
Permit me to update you on some key successes chalked in 2025. We completed and dedicated our beautiful and magnificent Altar through the benevolence of all of you and I say God bless you all.
We also celebrated our Patron Feast Day where we honoured some deserving parishioners for their dedication to our worshipping community.
Dear Parishioners, we have also made progress on the building of our Parish Hall with the design of the Hall currently being studied by our Lord Bishop and the Committee for such projects and I urge all of us to be hopeful of good news very soon.
My only appeal is to you is that if we do not understand any issue concerning projects of the Church, let us get to those in authority and make enquiries and it will help us clear all doubts.
Last year, I stood before you, and I am here again to appreciate the continuous support of all of you, our Parishioners home and outside the Parish.
Parishioners in Diaspora especially, we cannot underestimate your support but call on you to do so in your numbers because to project our beautiful St Augustine.
It is my prayer that we will be in good health to initiate more projects to the success of our beloved Parish.
My sincere thank you goes to our Parish Priest, Very Rev. Fr. Paschal Afesi for his shepherd role he continues to execute with love and passion.
To his associates Rev. Fr. Daniel Tenu Yeboah and Rev. Fr. Michael Wonders Tsekpokumah for their able support in the administration of the Parish.
To my hardworking Parish and Local Pastoral Councils, Committees, Catechists, Choirs, Singing Groups, Societies and Confraternities, thank you all for not abandoning your duties.
Dear Parishioners, may we all with the help of almighty God, resolve to continue to do more and better for the development of St Augustine Roman Catholic Church, the Ho Catholic Diocese and Ghana, our beloved country.
Thank you, God bless us abundantly.
ST AUGUSTINE - ABUNDANT GRACE
