PASTORAL HANDING AND TAKING-OVER CEREMONY
["The old order changeth, yielding place to new."]

"I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. (1 Corinthians 3:6|NIV)

Today, Sunday August 30, 2026, the pastoral duties and responsibilities of GEC SSNIT Flats - Bethel Chapel, Ho officially moved from our very own Rev. Raphael Mac Attih (out-going Parish Pastor) to Rev. Raphael Ledo (in-coming Parish Pastor) during a special ceremony.

The ceremony was held during the congregation's ministries Sunday service.

The out-going Pastor, Rev. Attih, encouraged the in-coming Pastor and the congregants to work together in love and unity in order to achieve the purpose of God for the church.

Rev. Raphael Ledo, on his part, expressed his appreciation to the out-going Pastor for the great work God used him to do in the life of the church. He pledged his commitment and dedication to the office.

The occasion was honoured by Rev. Dodzi Kofi Attimu, Rev. Edem Y. Ofori (Immediate-past Presbytery Chairman, Ho Presbytery), Rev. Bruno (GEC, Togo) and members of the congregation.

A special appreciation to Rev. R.M.K. Attih & Mrs. Ella Agnes Gonyoe Attih for their dedication and faithful service to God and the Bethel congregation. May God continue to bless you as you begin a ministry in retirement.

REV. RAPH ATTIH RETIRES AS AN ERA COMES TO END.

Thirty-five years ago today, 36 young men and women took a step of faith in obedience to God's call to shepherd the congregations that aligned with the E. P. Church of Ghana, following the split of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in 1991.

On 17th August 1991, we were commissioned at the Central Cafeteria of the University of Ghana Legon. Accepting the call to serve in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Ghana at that time meant stepping into a dangerous battle. The future was unknown. There were no guarantees of financial security, personal comfort, or even physical safety. It was a journey of faith. We knew only one thing: God had called us, and obedience was our only fitting response.

Looking back today, it is easy to speak of those days with confidence because we now know how the story unfolded. We have seen how God provided for His people, sustained His Church, and opened doors that once seemed permanently closed.

Yesterday, 16th August 2026, Rev. Raph Mac Attih the immediate past Synod Clerk of the Global Evangelical Church, became the last of the 36 candidates commissioned in 1991 to formally retire from active pastoral service of the Church.

The Retirement and Thanksgiving Service marked the close of a remarkable chapter in the life of the Global Evangelical Church.

An Era has ended but God's purpose has not. May we Remember the Faithfulness of God, Remain in His Word and Rest in His Promises.
