AHANTAMO KESE CHURCH BUILDING DEDICATED
The Area Head of the Goaso Area of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Otu Appiah, has officiated a spirit-filled service for the dedication of the Ahantamo Kese church building in the Akrodie District.
Pastor Gyapong Gideon delivered a thought-provoking message on the theme, “You Are the Temple of God.” Drawing lessons from Exodus 25:8-9 and 1 Corinthians 3:16-19, he emphasized God's enduring desire to dwell among His people and the responsibility believers carry as God's living temple.
In his sermon, Pastor Gideon explained that from the very beginning, God desired intimate fellowship with humanity. Although sin created a separation between God and mankind, God's purpose of dwelling among His people remained unchanged. He recounted how God instructed Moses to construct the tabernacle, a sacred dwelling place that symbolized God's presence among the Israelites.
Expounding on the structure of the tabernacle, he highlighted its three sections: the Outer Court, the Holy Place, and the Holy of Holies. He noted that the Holy of Holies represented the dwelling place of God's presence and was accessible only to the High Priest. As Israel progressed through history, the temporary tabernacle eventually gave way to the magnificent temple built by King Solomon, where God's glory visibly filled the sanctuary during its dedication.
The preacher further explained that the coming of Jesus Christ ushered in a new era of worship. Through His death and resurrection, believers have become the dwelling place of God. Quoting 1 Corinthians 6:19, he reminded the congregation that their bodies are now temples of the Holy Spirit, making every Christian a carrier of God's presence.
Pastor Gideon challenged the congregation to live lives that reflect God's holiness, stressing that believers must consciously honour God with their thoughts, words, and actions. Referring to Romans 12:1, he encouraged members to present themselves as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to God, which constitutes true worship.
He concluded by reminding the church that Christianity is not merely about attending a place of worship but about living daily as God's consecrated temple. He urged believers to continually reflect the character and glory of Christ wherever they find themselves, recognizing that God now dwells in the hearts of His people rather than in buildings made by human hands.
The service was graced by the presence of Dr. Mrs. Gifty Dansoah Appiah, wife of the Area Head; Nana Ofori Gyamfi II, Chief of Ahantamo Kese, together with his elders; pastors and their wives; as well as numerous church members and well-wishers who participated in the uplifting gathering.
