On Sunday January 15, 2023, Dcns. Sandra Akuley preached on the topic: *REPOSITIONING FOR HIGHER HEIGHT* The main text was from 2 Kings 2: 9-12.

Speaking based on 1 kings 19:1-21 where Elijah and Elisha met and God told him to anoint Elisha, she indicated that Elijah handed his mantle to Elisha who wanted to bid his family bye first before following him. With no response, Elisha killed all the yoke of oxen he had and shared it. To reposition for higher heights one must lay a proper foundation for the call of God.

Secondly, in 1 Kings 19, an angel of the Lord visited Elijah under the juniper tree to give him food twice because the journey was too long after which he fasted for 40 days and he did not complain in anyway. So, we should be ready to pay the price for the heights and when we do, God will also deliver.

As they journeyed, the prophets told Elisha to go back because God was going to take Elijah away and that following him will be meaningless but he did not give up. Thus, if we want to go higher we must ignore the voices of reasoning and fact.

Lastly Elijah told Elisha that when he sees him go he would get what he desired. We must always be alert in the spirit because God can move within a second.

On Sunday January 8, 2023, Eld. Sampson Oppong Danso preached on the topic: Repositioning the Local church for Maximum Impact in the Nations. Quoting from Col 2:6-7 and 1 Thess 2:19-20, he focused on the sub-theme: the mission of the church based on Matthew 16:13-19, 18:15-20.

He indicated that the church which means the Ecclesia in Greek is a group of people appointed or selected or called out to execute the mind or the dictates of a king in a territory. They are supposed to manifest the King’s idea in his territory.

The original purpose and plan of God was the extension of his kingdom on earth through mankind and the purpose of God’s redemption plan is to restore mankind back to God’s original through the church. But the only way to represent God is to have a relationship with him.

Since the mission of the church is to represent God on earth, as Christians, we are the church and not the buildings and we are to be God’s agency on earth. A governing influence to bring the mind of God in our work place, in our home, in our school and in our marriage.

It is important in the Bible since it is the mind of God and His will. We communicate with God through our prayers to know his plans and understand his purpose and his direction.

“I will proclaim your name to my brothers and sisters. I will praise you among your assembled people”‭‭(Psalms‬ ‭22‬:‭22‬ ‭NLT‬‬).

Today was dedicated for testimonies for the goodness of God throughout the year. Following the weekly public reading of the Bible by the children’s ministry, we took turns to testify of the goodness of God in our lives.

To God be all the glory for the great things He has done and continues to do.

On Sunday December 11, 2022, Dcns. Ama Duah preached on the topic: “A Heart of Gratitude” with main text from 1 Chronicles 16:34.

She indicated that thanksgiving is a command because everything you are and what you have belongs to God, thus, giving thanks to God acknowledges that He owns it all.

Dcns. Duah explained that the author of Chronicles wanted the Jews who had returned from Babylon and were in despair to know what their ancestor David had done in time past and for them to be grateful to God. she encouraged the church to take a cue and be in the presence of God since it is a prerequisite for surviving turbulent times and always have a heart of gratitude, thanking God and testifying about His goodness.

Dcns. Duah then led the church in powerful songs and prayers of gratitude.

Preceding the sermon was the Sunday Bible reading powerfully done by Emelda of the Children Ministry.

On Communion Sunday December 4, 2022, Eld. Oppong Danso preached on the topic: Significance of the Lord’s Supper based on Matthew 26:26-28 and 1 Corinthians 11:20-28.

He explained a couple of terms used to describe the Lord’s Supper: sacrament, Eucharist and communion. Sacrament is a Latin term used by the military to show loyalty to the commander this we take an oath to be loyal to it Commander in chief Jesus Christ when we take communion. Eucharist is Greek meaning giving thanks. Communion comes from Greek word Koinonia meaning intimate relationship with Christ.

He added that Jesus Christ asked us to do this in remembrance of Him and remembrance, whichis the opposite of dismember, means bringing the body of Jesus Christ back ie re-membering Him.

The Lord’s Supper is also a new covenant Jesus Christ established with believers.

He ended by saying that when we take communion, Jesus Christ gives us the right to be called the children of God and joint heirs with Christ. Every blessing of the Lord is ours, His glory, His righteousness, His holiness, His riches, His power and the Holy Spirit are all ours by virtue of our oneness with Him.
