Ghanaians have recently been introduced to a new voice in gospel music in the person of Kofi Owusu Peprah, whose vibrant approach to gospel music leaves many yearning for more.
Born to the legendary gospel musician and Pastor, Rev. George Owusu Mensah of βMatwen Awurade Animβ fame, Kofi has grown his craft over the years under the direct tutelage and blessing of his father and other anointed musical icons of our time.
It is therefore not surprising to see him on the rise to deliver something unique and refreshing to Ghana gospel music and beyond.
To his credit, he released his maiden record βYesu Nyame Baβ in 2018, a uniquely stitched contemporary worship song that exposes the person of Jesus Christ as well as draw the listerner into the deep place of worship.
This was soon followed by the βre-fixβ of βMatwen Awurade Animβ (Matwen 2020), in March 2020, which is arguably the most common household worship song in Ghana.
This song also brings a renewed sense of worship and inspiration to many listeners who continuously enjoy the song which is culled directly from scripture (Psalm 91).
To further establish his versatility as a composer, musical director and praise and worship leader, Kofi introduced the world to his latest song βBIG GODβ on 7th August 2020.
This is a very groovy song that exalts the place of GOD in the daily lives of everyday people, coupled with a visual spectacle of a music video.
BIG GOD is that song which connects listeners across every aspect of the society through its simple and easy to learn lyrical content and danceable African rhythms.
It has since enjoyed good airplay in the media landscape; both traditional and online. Readers can download Kofiβs songs via all digital stores as well as YouTube.
