Grace Revealed

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14

God chose to reveal His grace towards humanity in the person of Christ.

Jesus Christ is thus grace personified.

Christ is revealed to us as full of grace and truth.

Every grace needed for salvation and living is found in Christ.

Christ is full of God’s grace because His grace is available in abundance to everyone.

The grace of God found in Christ never runs out. It is available for all time.

In Christ, God reveals and makes His grace available to all who avail themselves by faith. Shalom.

Prayer: Pray for faith to receive God’s grace revealed in Christ.

The Obedience of Faith

By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that is in keeping with faith. Hebrews 11:7

God commanded Noah to build an ark for his family and two of every living thing.

Noah, moved with holy reverence, obeyed God even when he hadn't seen anything like a flood of such magnitude.

Noah obeyed God even when the words of God contradicted with what he knew at that moment. Because he heard from God, he obeyed.

By Noah's obedience, his entire household was saved and many animals were preserved.

Noah believed and obeyed because he heard God for himself.

Hearing God's word for ourselves builds up faith in us to obey.

Obedience, in turn, brings deliverance to us and those close to us.

Obedience attracts favour before God.

Wherever there is faith, obedience is not difficult. Shalom.

Prayer: Pray for the ability to hear and obey God in faith.

Faith Only Believes

Overhearing what they said, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.” Mark 5:36

Jairus, a ruler of the synagogue, came to Jesus pleading for his daughter, who was at the point of death. While on the way, news came to Jairus that his daughter was dead. Jesus, overhearing the news, told Jairus, "Don't be afraid; just believe" (Mk 5:36).

Faith gives no room for doubt; only believe.

No matter the news that comes to us, we have to believe that Jesus is able to make something good out of the bad situations.

In all situations, faith sees possibilities and potentials. Faith tells us that with God, all things are possible.

Every dead thing will rise because Faith sees that death is not the end.

Don't be afraid, just believe. Shalom

Prayer: Pray for the faith to believe God for the impossible.

Faith Motivation

I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20

Galatians 2:20 captures perfectly what happens to anyone who has accepted Christ and how their lives should be lived as a result.

In Christ, we have been crucified. Faith in Christ enables us to also participate in His crucifixion. For Christ, His body died, but for us, the self, ego, and sinful life have been crucified.

Dying with Christ means dying to selfishness and ego. The breeding ground for every sin is selfishness and ego.

Having been crucified with Christ, we now have the life of Christ in us, which is selfless and God-dependent.

Living this Christlike life requires faith to depend and trust God every day and in every situation. The life of Christ is a life of faith.

The life of faith is motivated by the love of Christ. Christ demonstrated His love for us by dying on the cross for our sins.

We look at how Christ demonstrated His love towards us , and we are motivated to do likewise.

We are able to live out our new identity in Christ when we are awed by the love of Christ.

Christ loved us so much that He came to die for us to give us new life. We live this life by faith on a daily basis. Our daily motivation for living like Christ is the love He showed on the cross.

I live like Christ every day because He died for me. Shalom.

Prayer: Pray that you will be motivated to live like Christ every day.

Live by Faith

For we live by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7

Faith is the confidence that God exists and He is faithful to fulfill His promises.

In 2 Corinthians 5, Paul writes about the wearing down of the body, which results in death. Based on God’s word, when the body gives way through death, God will give us a more glorious permanent body, and we will be with the Lord forever.

Knowing that we will be with the Lord forever determines how we live in the present.

In the midst of the challenges and disappointments, we aren't perturbed. The temporary will soon give way to the permanent.

Thus, we are motivated not by the present realities but by the promise made by God about the glorious future that awaits us.

Faith thus lives in the present based on God’s promises.

Faith isn't a one-time act, but a continuous lifestyle that holds on to God’s promises.

Faith is a lifestyle founded on God’s promises and His faithfulness to do what He has promised. Shalom.

Victory Through Jesus Christ

But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:57

In 1 Corinthians 15, the resurrection of Christ is proven. Christ revealed Himself to over 500 people, some of whom were still alive at the time Paul wrote this letter.

By the resurrection of Christ, the sting of death was destroyed.

In verse 56, the sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.

That is, sin gives power to death. Without sin, death has no power. The law also gave power to sin. For without the law, sin has no power.

Jesus came and completely atoned for all our sin. In this act of Christ, the penalty of sin was fully paid for.

By His resurrection, Jesus also conquered death.

Thus, both death and sin were decisively defeated by Christ.

This victory won by Christ is also the victory of all who believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

God gave us victory over sin and death through Christ.

We have victory because Christ won the victory on our behalf.

Sin has no hold over us, just as death has also been conquered.

Jesus gave us victory over sin and death by truimphing over death. Shalom.

Prayer: Pray and claim the victory won for you by Christ.

God on Your Side

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31

In Romans 8, Paul explains the life of the Spirit in great detail.

The life of the Spirit frees us from all condemnation (Romans 8:1).

Through the Spirit, we have been adopted into Sonship as heirs together with Christ (Romans 8:17).

The Spirit helps us in our weakness (Romans 8:26-27)

God is always working in all things for our good (Romans 8:28).

These and many more reveal that God is indeed for us. God has dealt with our past of sin, brought us into a new relationship with Him as His children, and continues to work His purposes in our lives.

If God is doing all these in our lives, then who can rise against us.

The Almighty God has proven beyond all reasonable doubts that He is for us. If He is for us, then anyone who stands against us has already lost.

That's what makes you a winner. God is on your side, and because He is mighty, anyone who rises against you is already defeated.

With God on your side, victory is assured. Shalom.

Prayer: Thank God for the victories He gives you and for being on your side.

Winning by Grace

It was not by their sword that they won the land, nor did their arm bring them victory; it was your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face, for you loved them.Psalms 44:3

In Psalm 44, the Psalmist recounts the victories that Israel won when they were about to occupy the promised land.

They were reminded that they didn't win the battles by the size or strength of their army.

They won because God favoured them. Israel's victory was by grace, not by military might.

In the same way, our achievements in this life are by God’s favour. It is God who gives the ideas, enables us to deploy strategies, and sends helpers on our way to success.

It is God who gave us life to be able to accomplish all that we have chalked in this life.

God does that for us because He loves us, not because of anything we have done.

We win life's battles because God is gracious.

We are able to achieve so much success because God is there to help us along the way.

We win only by God’s grace. Shalom.

Prayer: Pray that God will empower you with His grace so you achieve more for His glory.

Maximum Effect

One of you routs a thousand because the Lord your God fights for you, just as he promised. Joshua 23:10

Joshua was ending his journey as leader of Israel after God had settled Israel in the promised land. He reminded the people that in the battles, one of them could fight 1,000 people because it was God who was actually fighting.

The people were able to achieve more because God was fighting through them.

God fighting for us doesn't mean we fold our arms and do nothing.

Rather, God uses our efforts to maximum effect.

Thus, when God helps you in the battles of life, He makes you productive so you can do more with little.

God will enable you to do more than your normal strength can do.

His strength is perfected in our weak bodies, so we can do beyond our normal capacity.

With God, our little efforts would have maximum effect. Shalom.

Prayer: Pray that God will use the little in your hand for great impact.

Assurance before the Battle

For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.” Deuteronomy 20:4

Before Israel went into battle, the priest was to address the army not to be afraid, panic, or be terrified because the Lord would go with them to fight for them.

God still goes with us and fights for us in the battles of life.

The spiritual, health, marital, financial, and other battles are best fought with the help of God.

God's presence goes with us and actively fights the issues we are confronted with.

Since God fights for us, we need not panic, be afraid, or be terrified.

We are at peace when the battles of life rage on because we know whom we have believed.

The Lord Most High is with us and fights for us.

In the course of the battle, be assured of victory because God is with you to fight for you.

Instead of fear and panic, trust in God who goes with you.

You'll soon see God's hand fighting on your behalf. Shalom.

Prayer: Pray that God will fight your battles for you.

Trust in Silence

The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:14

Israel had been delivered from Egypt, and on their way to the promised land they were confronted with the Red Sea in front them and the Egyptian army behind them.

Israel thought that was their end, but Moses assured them that God would fight for them. They were just to be still and hold their peace.

When God fights for us, we only need to hold our peace or be still.

To be still is to be silent and not react to the threats that face us.

When we know that God is fighting for us, we need to trust Him enough to remain silent and leave Him to bring victory.

When we are still, we place our total trust in God and watch Him in silence as He fights for us.

When faced with life's battles, we silently trust God to fight them for us.

Silence in the midst of battle is a show of trust in the Almighty God. Shalom.

Prayer: Pray that God will fight your battles for you.
