📢 From 7 to 11 September 2026, Ghana's capital, Accra, will host the first edition of the West Africa Youth Days, a historic gathering promoted by the Regional Episcopal Conference of West Africa (Recowa CERAO).
📌 The initiative, whose structure follows the recent World Youth Day in Lisbon, was born out of the desire of the region's Bishops to offer young Catholics a shared space of faith, encounter, and formation. 🤝

Preparations for the first-ever West African Youth Day (WAYD) scheduled for September 7–11 in Ghana are at an advanced stage, with organizers unveiling protocols that will ensure the success of the event.

Good morning dearly beloved.
To love is willing the good of the other. Remember that it is your obligation to love the other. Since love wills the good of the other, there are moments that it may cause temporal sort of pain/hurt which is meant for the good of the other later on. For instance reprimanding your child now may cause them pain but it will surely prepare them for the future. Love does not destroy but it brings the best out of the other. May you continue to love knowing that you owe to the other ( Romans 13:8-10).

🙏🏾 SAFE JOURNEY MESSAGE TO CCADYC YOUTH🇬🇭✈️

My dear young people of the Cape Coast Archdiocese,

As you prepare to journey and participate in the *West Africa Youth Days*, I extend my heartfelt greetings and prayerful best wishes to each one of you.

I sincerely appreciate our *Metropolitan Archbishop, Most Rev. Charles Gabriel Palmer-Buckle*, for his paternal love and continued support for the youth apostolate. I also thank our priests, religious, youth leaders, chaplains, parents, sponsors and everyone who has contributed to making your participation possible.

You are not only attending an event; you are representing the Cape Coast Archdiocese, your parishes and the Catholic Church.
Carry this responsibility with pride and humility. Let your conduct, unity, faith and love for one another reflect the values of Christ.

Whether you sponsored yourself or received support from your parish or others, remember that someone has invested in you and placed their trust in you. Make that trust count.

As you travel, remain prayerful, disciplined and respectful. Participate fully, build meaningful friendships, learn from others and return home with renewed faith and a stronger commitment to the mission of the Church.

May Mother Mary, our Mother and Model of Faith, accompany you throughout the journey. May the Lord grant you a safe journey, a fruitful encounter and a successful RECOWA Youth Days experience.

Go forth in faith. Represent us well. Return transformed.
