‭‭Joshua‬ ‭3:5‬ ‭NIV‬‬
[5] Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.

It was time the Israelites were supposed to cross the Jordan to Jericho, they had camped for 3 days at the other side of the Jordan.
These people had seen God split the Red Sea but for some reason, they was a little doubt how they would cross the Jordan.
Joshua, they're new leader had not been used by God to perform any miracle yet unlike Moses. It's only natural for them not to have much faith in Joshua as they did in Moses.
So God tells Joshua what he'll do. In confidence he gathered the Israelites and gave them a direct instruction on how they would cross the Jordan. The water receded as the crossed n a dry land. (Josh 3:15-17)

What does lesson(s) do we learn from this story? When you are at a cross road, not knowing where to turn; Trust in God. When life meets you with ups and downs, Trust in God. When all seem to be going right, Trust in God. This year, hold on to these words he said to Joshua and the Israelites "...the Lord will do amazing things among you," Amen

It's easy to find ourselves doing what today's verse is acknowledging us not to do. We see this more often when writing down our new year's resolution, Or even talking to friends and family what we will do the next day. Sometimes even when making appointments. Sounds familiar?

Today, we are being admonished to remember God's will first even before we make our plans. Why is this a serious matter?
James 4:16 says all such boasting is evil. Wouldn't we rather want to commit our plans to God first since he is our life giver rather that set things out on our own?

Child of God, remember to acknowledge God first in your plans and in all you do. It's another way of showing our humility to God and acknowledging that we are not in control of our lives. May God bless you as you continue to commit to him. 🙏

God told Moses to tell Aaron and his sons to bless the nation of Israel with the verses for Today.

This is known as the Priestly Blessing. As we start a new day, in a new week, end a the month of November, to begin a new Month in December, it is my prayer that “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” Child of God, go on walking in glory with the assurance of God's blessings over your life in Jesus name, AMEN🙏

Picture an Architect working on a building project. They start with the building plan, do the profiling, starts foundation and pillars and proceed with the plan on paper till finally get a perfect finished building.

At first glance, the plan may look complicated to someone who doesn't understand how to read architectural drawings. But the architect knows exactly what kind of building s/he wants to put up.

They factor in everything including plumbing, heating and the complete furnishing of the work. Though there may be price hikes in raw materials, some labourers or craftsmen may be sick or absent, bad weather etc, the Architect's concentration is on finishing the job and meeting perfection. This is how things fall in line for the Good of God's children.

There might be some unplanned and unpleasant incident in life along the way but trust and have faith that all things will work out for your Good as a child of God. This is because you have been called for God's purpose. In the verse 30 of this chapter explains that those He called... He also glorifies. This is our portion as children called for God's purpose. God Bless you 🙏

How do we behave when we see that a fellow believer is more successful in one a particular area in life than us? Do we congratulate them for the new job role while we are still unemployed, for getting a perfect score in an exam when we're close to failing, for having their third child while we are struggling to conceive, for getting a new car while we are struggling to keep up with the increasing bus fares?

What about when a fellow believer is making quick spiritual progress in church? Do we congratulate them or encourage them or we let anger, envy, resentment, hatred, jealousy, strife take the better half of us. These kinds of negative attitudes listed above is what prevents christians today from getting results. When we exhibit these negative attitudes, it's another way of showing we don't want to Submit to God and Don't trust that he's capable of providing our hearts desire.

Today's word shows why some christians do not have results in verse 2 - "...You do not have because you do not ask God." If we believe that the God we serve blessed our fellow believers with the same things we look forward to having, why should we spend time hating and backbiting instead of asking God?

It's not just about asking God but our motives as we ask is also important. Do we ask for these physical and spiritual things to show off or enjoy our own pleasure away from God's presence? Child of God always have faith that when we ask God anything according to His will He will hear us. May we take this word to heart to manifest the desires of our hearts for God's glory. God bless you 🙏

"How dare he wrong me, he'll pay for his actions!" "She thinks she'll get away, I'll show her where power lies!" These are some of the statements we hear people make when they have been wronged by others. We probably have said something similar before in the past.

If this is how we feel when someone wrongs us, think of how God felt when the very first man and woman he created wronged him. Read Genesis 3:1-13. Their action was not just a complete disregard to God's authority but they ended up blaming God. The man said "the woman You put here with me-she gave me some fruit from the tree and I ate it." The woman said "the serpent deceived me and I ate it". In other words it was God's fault they disobeyed him. Annoying right?

Yet, this is where we see God's love. In the mist of all this blame game, God makes arrangement for the future of their offspring in Gen 3:15 (Please Read). This is what has been emphasized in today at Romans 5:8. Adam and Eve didn't even ask for forgiveness but God demonstrated his love by sending the promised seed, Jesus Christ to die for us. Why? So we can reconcile with God. This is perfect love! May we continue to acknowledge this sacrifice as it the foundation of our christian faith and our walk with God. God bless you! 🙏
