*THE METHODIST DAILY DEVOTIONAL*
*Date*: _Tuesday, 3rd February 2026_
*Theme*: _The Word that Revives Our Souls_

*Main Passage*: _Psalm 19:7–11_
*Key Verse*: _“The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul.”_ (Psalm 19:7, NIV)

*Message for the Day*
```Life often wears us down. The weight of challenges, sin and uncertainties can leave us weary and empty. Many times, we search for comfort in wealth, pleasure or human advice but these do not last. True refreshment comes only from God’s Word.
The Psalmist reminds us that “the law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul.” God’s Word is not just ink on paper—it is alive and powerful (Hebrews 4:12). It has the power to restore us, strengthen our faith and give hope when we feel like giving up. Just as David found strength in God’s promises, we too can be revived when we turn to Scripture with open hearts.```
*Thought for the Day*
```Return to the Word, read it, meditate on it and let it breathe life into you.```

*Prayer*
```Lord, thank You for Your Word that revives our weary souls. May it guide, comfort and renew us. Amen.```
191 – DAY WALK WITH THE LORD
TOPIC: DO NOT FIGHT BACK
BIBLE READING: LUKE 6: 27 – 29
Do not fight back. Do not fight back physically, for you do not know how to fight as a child of God. God can do it and He can do it better. ‘The Lord is a man of war: The Lord is His name’ (Ex 15:3 – KJV). ‘The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still’ (Ex. 14:14).
As a child of God or a good Christian, you don’t need to engage anyone, in as much as possible, in an open confrontation. For it is better to fight kneeling (in prayer) than to fight standing (physical fighting). This is the revolutionary words of Jesus Christ, our Saviour: "But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic’ (Luke 6:27-29).
It is difficult to abide by what the Master says, but those who are faithful to His Words, God will also show Himself strong and faithful to them. Let it go; the Lord Jesus will fight your battles for you. May the Lord help us to stay calm physically but violent spiritually.
PRAYER ASSIGNMENTS
1. Thank God for His word.
2. Pray for the grace to stay calm physically no matter the situation.
3. Pray and destroy every force of darkness that fight against you.
4. Give your life to Jesus
5. Pray on any other issue(s) bothering you.
God bless you.
