History of the Komenda Cong. of the Presbyterian Church

The desire to established the church was conceived by Mr. M. K. Awudza a Presbyterian who relocated to Komenda because of work. On May 16, 1970, a meeting was convened at “Clinic” D/C B School to consider the formation of a Presbyterian Church in Komenda Town. At the meeting were seven persons, namely, Mr. M. K. Awudza, Ms. Shaddy Ladipoo, Mr. Oscar Bukari, Mr. Theophilus Obeng, Mr. John K. Asare, Mr. Kenneth Boah, and Mr. Emmanuel Ampadu. The first divine worship service was held on Sunday 17th May, 1970 at 9.30am. The Congregation was officially inaugurated on Sunday August 16, 1970 by Rev. George A. Budu, the then Cape Coast District Minister.
