A memorial service has been held to serve as a precursor to the official opening of the 52nd Conference scheduled for tomorrow. The Memorial, Dedication, and Holy Communion Service was held at the St. Paul Methodist Cathedral in Tema.

During the memorial session, the names of selected deceased members were called out three times to symbolize all departed souls since the last conference in 2024.โ€œThese are those who have labored among us and have been called to glory,โ€ the Presiding Bishop stated during the solemn remembrance.

Delivering the sermon, the Most Rev Prof Johnson K. Asamoah-Gyadu, Presiding Bishop, emphasized the necessity of spiritual commitment, stating that walking in the Word is equivalent to walking in Christ Jesus. He urged believers to maintain a constant and incessant hunger and thirst for the Scriptures.

"To walk in the Word requires three things: effort, movement, and destination," the Presiding Bishop noted. "The Church of Christ has been called to the destination of good works."

The service concluded with the administration of Holy Communion to members of the congregation.
