Catholics honor Mary, but do not worship her. Worship belongs to God alone. Mary is honored because God chose her to be the mother of Jesus, the Son of God. Scripture itself says, “All generations will call me blessed” (Luke 1:48), and Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, called her “blessed among women” and “the mother of my Lord” (Luke 1:42–43).

Honoring Mary does not take us away from Jesus—it points us toward Him, just as Mary said at Cana: “Do whatever he tells you” (John 2:5).
