Celebrating in Service: Very Rev. Fr. Maj. Daniel Yaw Ganu Marks Birthday with Children at Village of Hope Orphanage, Gomoa Fetteh

In thanksgiving to God for His Grace and in the spirit of Christian charity, Very Rev. Fr. Maj. Daniel Yaw Ganu, Cape Coast Grand Chaplain of the Knights and Ladies of St. John International (KSJI), celebrated his birthday with the children of the Village of Hope Orphanage, Gomoa Fetteh.

Rather than a private celebration, Rev. Fr. Maj. Ganu chose to mark his special day by giving back to society, recognizing that all he has is by God’s infinite goodness. The occasion was a joyful moment of fellowship, prayer, and generosity as he joined the children and caregivers of the Home.

The celebration featured prayers, words of encouragement, and the sharing of a birthday meal with the inmates. As part of his commitment to supporting the vulnerable, Rev. Fr. Maj. Ganu, accompanied by members of the Cape Coast Grand Commandery & Ladies’ Auxiliary, KSJI, also donated assorted items to the Home to support the upkeep and welfare of the children.

Speaking during the presentation, Fr. Ganu expressed profound gratitude to God for the gift of life and Priesthood. He noted that the true meaning of celebration is found in sharing God’s blessings with others, especially the less privileged. “Whatever we have received from God is meant to be given back in love and service,” he said.

The management and children of Village of Hope expressed heartfelt appreciation to Rev. Fr. Maj. Ganu and the KSJI for the visit and generous donations, offering prayers for God’s continued blessings upon his life and ministry.

The event underscored the KSJI core values of service to Church, Order, and Community, and served as a powerful witness of a shepherd celebrating his birthday not for himself, but with and for others.
