MESSAGE FOR THE DAY:
EVERLASTING BLISS

Jn 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Everlasting life is everlasting bliss or glory.

That which continues to exist forever is everlasting. It's eternal, without end, timeless, deathless, never-ending and limitless.

Indeed, these are words that are used to describe God Almighty, who alone is infinite, unsearchable and incomprehensible. He’s the everlasting One!!

God is life, love and light and these are also everlasting.

Because of His breath i.e Spirit, in humankind, the soul of a man receives an everlasting status.

The conscious decision to live for either Jesus Christ or satan, determines where man will spend eternity.

An unrepented soul misses the eternal Father and His nature of life, light and love.

A person might live and boast in vain and meaningless things in the physical. If he dies in his sin, he graduates into a world of everlasting darkness, devoid of light, life, love, grace and mercy.

Death is a graduation to either eternal bliss or gloom. This is the rule of the Spirit of God!

Temporal beings can never mediate for everlasting beings. It takes One with an everlasting nature of love and life to redeem a sinful and condemned soul.

Hence, the coming of Jesus, the perfect, unblemished Lamb of God, to shed His blood. He died to make peace between God and man. No angel, man, spirit, blood of bulls or goats can everlastingly mediate for the sinful soul. He who receives Him, has everlasting life imputed into him.

When people attempt to substitute temporal things for the everlasting, it's a sure indication of their ignorance of the rule of the Spirit of God.

True Christians are always mindful of the everlasting One, who indwells them. Their daily activities are controlled by eternal things and they make eternal and enduring decisions.

God makes an eternal covenant with their souls and they shall be raised from the dead when they die physically. They live and die in hope!

John 6:40; And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

The gift of everlasting life should not be taken for granted, neither played down.

Receive grace to allow godly and eternal decisions to influence your life.

*MESSAGE FOR THE DAY: CHRIST: HEAVEN’S BUSINESSMAN ON EARTH*

*MAIN SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY:*
*Luk 2:48-50 And when they saw Him (Jesus), they were amazed: and his mother (Mary) said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing. And He (Jesus) said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business? And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.*

When Christ came to the earth, He came not as a vacationer or a tourist. He came as Heaven’s businessman to do business with humankind. A businessman? Yes, God’s businessman to die in order to change the conditions of man, so we can become like Him and fulfil same agenda on earth.

When we discover ourselves in Him by means of our death to sin, we also become “strangers” in a world of darkness to do Heaven’s business with the unsaved, that the Christ would reproduce Himself in as many as would believe.

*2 Co 5:17-20 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.*

Many still do not know and understand, that Jesus came to offer forgiveness, peace, healing, direction, provisions and victory for them. After carefully reading this devotional, meditating and praying seriously about it, things must begin to change.

Jesus did not die in vain. He must see the travail of His soul and be satisfied *(Isaiah 53:11)*

Jesus chose to suffer in our place, so we wouldn’t have to suffer.

*He went to Calvary not because He had done wrong, committed sin, disobeyed or displeased the Father. It was all because of us.*

There will never be another place, another time, another occasion, another person or another sacrifice, like that of Jesus Christ at Calvary.

--beauty has been created as a result of Christ going to Calvary, Calvary was not a place of beauty,

--rejoicing goes on around the world due to Calvary, the cross was certainly not a place of joy and

--comfort is derived from Calvary; Calvary was not a comfortable place.

*MESSAGE FOR THE DAY: GOD’S COVENANT WITH HUMANS*

*MAIN SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY:*
*Psa 89:34-35 My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.*

As we set our minds to rekindle our faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, it's important to note, that His revealed will for our lives is of utmost importance. *Easter should not be a time of just going through emotions and passions of His death, whilst our hearts still follow the dictates of this world. This grieves the Spirit of God!*

When God put His Lamb on the cross of Calvary as a sin sacrifice, to make peace with man and bring about a reconciliation between Heaven and Earth, He was set to enter into an everlasting covenant with as many as would believe and live for Him.

The mere mention of the word “covenant” produces all kinds of emotions from all kinds of people. A person’s understanding of “covenant” depends upon that one’s background, religious belief or previous teaching.

For many people, covenant means a mutual agreement between two or more parties. Good as that is, it could also apply to a “contract.”

There however is, a difference between a “covenant” and “contract.” *By nature, contracts are legal and binding. Covenants are spiritual and liberating. Contracts are sealed on paper whereas covenants are sealed in the heart. Contracts are enforced by law, whereas covenants are enforced by the Spirit.*

God is a God of covenant. On the cross, He allowed His Son –His Lamb- to die to establish a covenant relationship with as many as would truly believe with their hearts, that God raised Him from the dead and confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord. They become adopted sons. They have rights and privileges with God in the Kingdom.

*The word “covenant” is a relational as well as a redemptive word. It’s an eternal, everlasting covenant, ratified by the efficacy of the blood of the Lamb. It works both here and in the hereafter.*

Through covenant, God partners with His children so we may fulfil His eternal purposes on earth, as it is done in Heaven. Covenant people never wait to be told to do what is already revealed and expected of them. They never have to be reminded to be faithful. They are faithful as they have tasted of His love, mercy, grace and forgiveness of sin. Covenant involves one’s heart and not necessarily the emotion.

Covenant allows God to take care of His beloved children. In both their weaknesses and strength, He becomes their sufficiency.

Real covenant love with God will slay every shameful and embarrassing “Goliath” that lifts up his head.

*Covenant people are in tune with echoes from Calvary, and visions of rapture occasionally burst on their sight.*

*Psa 25:10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.*

*MESSAGE ON: THE MINISTRY OF THE BLOOD OF JESUS*

*MAIN SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY:*
*Joh 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.*

When Jesus died and gave us His life, He was Heaven’s treasure given to us. It takes the Spirit’s revelation to a believing heart to know and receive this truth. This is the work of grace and it’s more than having a form of religion.

The blood of Jesus is holy, pure, uncontaminated and undefiled. It has brought victory into every situation in heaven, on earth and under the earth.

*When we believe in the efficacy of the Blood of the Lamb of God- Jesus Christ- it touches the heart, mind, emotions, will, body, our past, present and future.*

There is tremendous power in the blood of Jesus. Whenever we open our hearts in believe and confess its power, it gradually builds the nature of God in us, which gives us victory over the love and spirit of the world and marks us for eternal glory after here.

The blood has forgiving and cleansing power; the penitent sinner loses all guilty stains and his consciousness of sin (1Jn 1:7-9).

The blood, which is the everlasting covenant between God and man, has justifying power that frees the believer from all condemnations in the sight of God (Rom 5:9).

It has reconciling power that destroys hostilities between God and man and our other relationships (Eph 2:13-15).

What a blessing the blood of the Lamb of God is! It has redeeming power (1 Pet 1:17-19).

Embedded in the blood of Jesus is a seal- breaking power, that destroys generational sins, curses and condemnations (Rev 5:1-5)

Victory over sin and the devil is invested in the blood of the Lamb of God-Jesus. (Rev 12:11)

What a blessing the blood of Jesus is! It gives us peace when we believe, (Eph 2:14) and serves as a protective covering (Ex12:12-13)

The hope of resurrection from the dead to forever be with the Lord is by identifying with the blood of Jesus (Heb13:20)

For life, the blood of Jesus is the answer (Lev 17:11). Mercy and covenanting power are all wrapped in the precious blood of the Lamb of God (Mat 26:27-28).

His blood has speaking powers (Heb12:22-24). It also has spiritual purchasing power (1 Cor 6:19-20)

The essence of Calvary was for the Lamb of God to die and shed His blood for as many as shall believe with their hearts and confess with their mouths.

The blood of Jesus is our inheritance. We are to speak it as revealed by the Word.

*MESSAGE FOR THE DAY: FAITH LEADS THE WAY*

*MAIN SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY:*

*Heb 11:8,10 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.*

The day we truly believed Jesus in our hearts and really got converted, the Spirit of God triumphantly entered into us. God our Father in His omnipotence and mercy, forgave us our sins. The condemnation and damnation seals upon our lives were destroyed by the efficacy of the blood of the everlasting covenant.

The spirit of this world and its dominance in our lives was removed. We changed paths. We were set on the path of light and it's a shining path that shines brighter until that perfect day. We live in a faith world.

The just, by grace, lives by faith. Faith graduates us from our human wisdom and way of thinking into a spiritual mindset.

We daily fight the good fight of faith to obtain the enviable and incorruptible crowns of life, rejoicing, glory and righteousness.

*Heb 13:14 For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.*

Because we live in this fallen world, the Holy Spirit tabernacles in us as our Helper, Comforter, Guide, Teacher and Truth. He never leaves us nor forsakes us. He is the most faithful, ever- cherished Life partner we have on earth. We need to cooperate with Him everyday, otherwise we will be swallowed up with bitter waters of life, drowned in pain and sorrows or wounded in our hearts.

We do not fear that we will fall from the grace as Christ in us is the hope of glory. If human frailties, frets and bumps of this life show up, we remember, that when sensations disappoint, faith in God rewards. When feelings fail, faith conquers. There will be times when
appearances deceive; faith in God assures us and when impressions fail, faith in God will enhance. When enthusiasm mislead, faith in God proves true.

When philosophy, secular humanism, reasoning and rationalism threaten to take the place of our faith in the redemptive work of Christ, we are to remember that we are in spiritual warfare. *Simple faith in the finished work of Jesus, should be enough to engage our attention and urge us on.*

Real life is a journey of faith that should lead us to the ultimate city of Faith - Heaven

When we choose God’s Word over satan’s pretence and lies, we repulse the shrewd suggestions and demeaning accusations of the devil, because the Spirit of God is in us, and we are not ignorant of the devil’s devices.

Satan deceives the un-believing world, by blinding the eyes of their understanding so they will not receive the Word of grace, which is light. His aim is to shift focus.

The daily pressures working against our faith are the fiery darts of the wicked. If we do not believe what the Bible says concerning us, especially what Christ accomplished for us on the cross of Calvary, we easily become vulnerable to the enticements and accusations of the deceiver. Our great inspiration and weapon is the Word of God!

*MESSAGE FOR THE DAY: FAMILY*

*MAIN SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY :*
*Pro 11:29 He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.*

The late Mother Teresa, a Catholic nun and missionary, once made a profound contribution to the peace of the world; centering her answer on the family. *“How can wars cease?” ‘Go home and love your family!’* How true was her Holy Spirit-inspired statement!! What a Mother!

You see, most family structures of today are in serious jeopardy and it is bad when the family doesn’t know what to do, It is even made worse, when they do know what to do, but don’t do it.

*The family is the basic household unit which provides a person’s central relationship, nurture and support.*

These days there are lots of talk on diverse issues. Unfortunately, the family is the least mentioned on these platforms, including the church.

Even though family issues are very sensitive ones which must be handled cautiously, it's very needful to talk about them.

When a family structure breaks down, it’s the society that suffers most. The devil specializes in breaking sound family structures.

*Marriage is a spirit entity, because God the Spirit instituted it. Fleshly lifestyles wound it.*

It’s heart-breaking to see many families that are rooted in spirits of strife, tension, envy, jealousy and comparison amongst themselves.

Many families have eliminated or played down the God factor, and have projected self-rule.

You see, when you eliminate God from your life and family, your heart becomes merciless and selfish.

The sound, God –given family structure is breaking down. We have to pause to consider the damages done to deeply re-think and consider our ways and to pay the price of walking in the fear of God and self - control.

We have to understand covenants, forgiveness and reconciliation, where necessary. Jesus paid the price for us when He bled, suffered and died for the restoration of our love, peace and compassion and so spouses could be reconciled to each other. The Spirit of God gives grace!

We have to respect and honour God by walking in love and showing compassion toward one another.

*If we deliberately or consciously trouble our family, we will inherit the “wind.” Time teaches that!!*

*Real life is not for easy thinkers and doers. The success of future family generations depends on the foundational structures laid. Everyone must be a generational thinker, for God is a generational God.*

*Receive manifold grace and multiple mercies to prayerfully respect, honour and love your family.*

*Sunday, 26th February, 2023.*

*MESSAGE FOR THE DAY: WEDDING*

*MAIN SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY:*
*Isaiah 54:5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.*

It’s always a thrilling time and a dream come true, when a man and a woman who are of age and prepared for marriage, stand face to face, especially before an Altar, ready to tie their marriage in holy matrimony. Families and friends of the couple become excited in their hearts, as they watch with keen interest.

Some wedding dresses are just fabulous, whilst others are very simple. Some weddings are quiet, others are for jubilant celebrations. I love to closely observe the bride as she comes in graciously, as music is played in the background. When they (the groom and the bride) leave the hall, it is a beautiful sight, not forgetting their embrace before the altar.

It’s worth noting that the wedding is not the marriage itself. It’s an event that opens one to the marriage. A wedding is different from a real marriage. Many miss this. No wonder after a few months or years, they break away for various reasons.

*The goal of marriage is not to think alike, but to think together.* To think together, they must first be joined together in the heart. Marriage is a heart thing, not an emotional one!

*The good news is that, our Maker takes the place of the Husband and Groom of the redeemed soul, here and hereafter, and that is a great comforting information to learn from the Bible.*

There is no physical marriage in Heaven.

One wonders how the wedding feast in Heaven shall be! Where Heaven’s Groom, our Lord Jesus Christ, will dine with His bride, the redeemed ones! After here, those that paid the price to love, surrender and ‘marry’ Christ, whilst on earth will enjoy the Marriage feast in Heaven. To “marry” Jesus, one must be identified with Him.

The Holy Spirit is joined together with the recreated spirit.

*Revelations 19:7-9 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.*

*MESSAGE FOR THE DAY: ECHOES OF CALVARY.*

*Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.*

Multitudes have died as a result of misrepresentation, hatred, anger, strife, starvation, wars, jealousy, bitterness, su***de, fear, resentment, accidents, ex*****on, disease, old age and numerous others. Never was there a death so recounted, so publicized and so celebrated like that of our Lord Jesus Christ. *The sound of Calvary is divine, gentle and refreshing to the heart and soul of anyone who believes. It’s the Spirit of Salvation!*

Jesus suffered and died, not because of what He was, but rather because of what we were. It was not that He ‘wanted’ to suffer and die, but He ‘chose’ to do that in our place. If He hadn’t, then we would have had to. Obviously, that would have been absolutely heavy and extremely difficult for the soul to bear. The weight and wages when one misses the Lord after here is heavy!

At Calvary, He who was precious, died for the worthless; He who was forgiving, died for the revengeful; the lowly, for the proud; the lovely for the hateful; the caring One, died for the careless; the righteous, for the corrupt and He Who was submissive, died for the rebellious.

At the cross, our debt was paid by Him, who owed nothing, yet paid everything, so that we, who had nothing and were nothing, could become somebody and enjoy everything. Christ in us, the hope of glory!

Calvary was necessary, so that no one would die and go to a place he or she wouldn’t like to go.

It’s the will of God that our:
--desire to know more about Calvary will increase,

--mindset of Calvary will be reprogrammed,

--perception of Calvary will be clear,

--passion for Calvary would be refreshed,

--understanding of Calvary would be enlightened,

-- will, will flow in its direction and our

--knowledge for the cross would be renewed.

The rich grace and multiple tender mercies of God are still available as long as we are in this life.

*Romans 6:1-2 What shall we say then? %Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?*

*Receive grace to remain steadfast in the Lord in a world that we know is passing away.*

*MESSAGE FOR THE DAY: BE IN COVENANT WITH GOD*

*MAIN SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY:*
*Psalm 89:34-35 My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.*

We have a wonderful God who delights in making covenants with His people. God is a covenant-keeping God!

*The greatest relationship one can ever have on planet earth, is to have a covenant relationship with God, his Maker, that is constant.*

In this covenant relationship, flows love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, faithfulness, meekness, self-control, strength, supplies and power.

*As our world is gradually getting uncertain and sour, those that are in covenant with God take rest in Him. They regard themselves as pilgrims here on earth. Their real home is after here!! They dream about it daily.*

If we humble ourselves, acknowledge that we are sinners, confess with our mouths the Lord Jesus, and believe in our hearts that God has raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved. *The Spirit of God then makes a triumphal entry into our recreated spirits. We are joined as one Spirit. God seals our lives unto eternal redemption and an eternal blood covenant with Him.*

Believing in the redemptive work of Christ Jesus introduces us to the covenant promises of God. If we would only be willing for God to have His way in our lives, many times God would speak to us through His Holy Spirit, as we stay in the Word.

Having a covenant with God guarantees hope and stability in our lives, regardless of the storms.

*Eph 2:12-13 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.*

The people with whom the Lord makes covenants, are known as the Lord’s “covenant people.” If we are obedient, we inherit the covenant blessings. *He that draws himself from obeying God, withdraws himself from the covenant grace of Jesus Christ.*

*Deut 29:9 Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do.*

Covenant goes with responsibilities. To remain in covenant with God, one has to:
--accept Jesus as Saviour and Lord,

-- allow God to cleanse one’s sins,

--be conscious of the indwelling Holy Spirit,

-- be spiritually-minded,

--respect and believe in the power of the shed blood of Jesus,

--abide in the Word of God,

--love one’s neighbour as oneself,

--reach out to the unsaved,

--diligently serve the Lord in the church,

--financially support the Kingdom as led and

--live with eternity in mind.

*Receive grace to be covenant-minded with God!*
