THE DEDICATION OF ST. THOMAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, AGONA NSABA
On Saturday, 8th August 2026, , the Metropolitan Archbishop of Cape Coast, Most Rev. Charles Gabriel Palmer-Buckle, paid his solemn visit to the paramount Chief and the Council of the Nsaba Traditional Area.
After a brief exchange of pleasantries, he returned to the St. Thomas Catholic Church premises. The solemn Mass of the consecration of the Altar and the rite of Dedication of the Church began.
The Mass began with the people of God gathered outside the Chapel with the Archbishop and Priests present. Rt. Rev. Christopher Nyarko Andam and Rt. Rev. Richardson Aboagye Andam, Diocesan Bishops of the Methodist Church, Ghana were also present.
With the First Reading proclaimed outside and a brief reflection shared, the faithful were sprinkled with Holy Water as well as the church building. With everything needed to be done outside duly fulfilled, the entrance to the Church building was opened by the Archbishop and the procession was made into the Church.
After the Homily was given, the litany of the Saints was chanted and then the Altar was consecrated with Chrism oil and the walls were anointed as well as the podium and the Tabernacle after which it was incensed. With the Altar cloth laid, the Liturgy of the Eucharist continued.
After the recession, the plaque was unveiled which reads:
