Today marks a deeply special day for the pastors, leadership, members, partners, and friends of True God Chapel International as we celebrate the birthday of our beloved founder, Apostle Sylvester Azubire. We honour and appreciate the life of a true father, a selfless leader, a devoted mentor, and a faithful shepherd after God’s own heart. On this blessed day, we lift him up in prayer, asking God to pour upon him greater grace, overflowing blessings, divine strength, and an ever-increasing, unmatched anointing. May his life continue to be a blessing to generations.

In Matthew 16:24, Jesus calls His disciples to a life of self-denial, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment, emphasizing that true discipleship requires taking up one's cross and following Him. A faithful follower of Christ is marked by deep love for the Lord and His kingdom work (John 21:15-17, Mark 12:30), demonstrating obedience by walking in His ways (John 14:15). Such a believer endures suffering and trials with perseverance (2 Timothy 3:12, 1 Peter 4:12-14, Romans 5:3-5), recognizing that challenges refine faith. Bearing spiritual fruit is another sign of true discipleship (John 15:8), as is maintaining an eternal perspective, setting one's heart on heavenly things (Colossians 3:1-3). Above all, a faithful Christian strives daily to be conformed to Christ’s image (Romans 8:29, 1 Corinthians 11:1), living a life that reflects His love, humility, and righteousness.
