Title: Broad Is The Way

"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. Matthew 7:13

Most people are in the “broad” way. This is the way of the world, the way of sinners, the way of the worship of many gods, the way of living according to your sinful nature, the way of doing what pleases yourself without concern for what pleases God, the way of ignorance of the truth, the way of rejecting the Lord Jesus who is the true way.

There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death. Proverbs 14:12

The end of that way (broad way) is destruction. That means spiritual death, separation from God, and the lake of fire.

In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9

To know God is to choose the narrow way, which is Jesus Christ.

Prayer: Pray that God's grace will abound in your life, home, and country.

Topic: The Voice of the Shepherd

The third time he said to him,"Simon son of John, do you love me?"Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time,"Do you love me?"He said,"Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you."Jesus said, "Feed my sheep. John 21:17

Listen to the voice of your shepherd. God has delegated the destiny of the sheep to the shepherd. God will bless your life and lead you through the voice of your shepherd. Jesus is the overall shepherd, and He told Peter to look after the sheep. That means that He was delegating the care of His sheep to under-shepherds.

If you are a sheep, God will lead you through your shepherd. Once you become sheep-like, you can expect to receive direction from your shepherd. “My sheep know my voice, and they follow me.” Your shepherd will explain the Bible to you. Through the words of the shepherd, the Bible will come alive in your life.

One of the surest ways God can direct you is through the person who acts as your shepherd. This shepherd is your pastor. Be very careful with the words of your pastor. They are the anointed words of a shepherd to the sheep. They contain all the guidance that the sheep needs.

Prayer Point: Ask the LORD to intervene in Ghana's election come saturday, December 2024.

Topic: The Word Brings Understanding

And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding. Jeremiah 3:15

In the last days, God is giving pastors who will feed us with knowledge and understanding. Receive the knowledge and understanding that God is giving you.

Since the pastor speaks the Word of God, the voice of the pastor contains the light, the understanding, and the wisdom that you need.

Pastors are given by God. They are men, after God's own heart, that is why you need to listen to pastors.

Prayer Point: Ask God to give you the appetite for His Word.

Topic: The Word Is Instruction

He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. -Micah 6:8

God will also use men of God to give you instructions for your life. These instructions help you to become a better person. There are times your pastor will give a commandment to fast and pray. It is important to follow these instructions. The Bible teaches that we should obey those who have spiritual authority over us. Hebrews 13:17

God will minister His Word to you through pastors and shepherds. That is why it is important to have a good church and a pastor who teaches the Word of God. Whenever your pastor is preaching, be open to receive direction for your life.

Prayer Point: LORD, make me open to receive instructions from your servants as you led them.

Topic: The Word Is Wisdom

Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation. Psalms 119:98-99

The Word of God will make you wise in this life. Advice and direction for business are found in the Word of God.

When we obey and practice the Word of God, we become wise. Therefore keep them and do them; for this will be your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, who will hear all these statutes, and say, “Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people”. Deuteronomy 4:6

Wisdom is not to be found in learning and science, in education in the world, but in the school of God. True wisdom cannot be learned from a booklet, but we learn it in God’s practice school.

2 Timothy 3:15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures that are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
The Word of God is your wisdom. But it is not enough to have it in your home – it must be in your heart, at the center of an obedient life.

Prayer Point: Pray that the Spirit of Wisdom will rest upon you.

Topic: The Word Is a Light

…I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed.
Psalm 132:17

Use the Word of God as a light for your path. There is so much darkness in the world. We often do not know what to do, but God has provided a light for Christians. Psalm 119:105

God’s Word is a lamp and a light for us. It is only when you put on the light that you know where to go. It is only when you put on the light that you can prevent yourself from stumbling over furniture. John 8:12

You need light in this life! Jesus (the Word) is the light for your life. People who have tried to live their lives without Christ and the Word have discovered that it is painful to stumble around in the darkness.

Prayer: Ask God to deliver you from any form of deception.

Topic: The Word of God

The Word of God is given to us for direction in our lives. Everything we do must be done according to the Word of God. In a very general way, the Word of God is the perfect guidebook for our lives. The Bible is a unique book that contains instruction on every possible issue that may arise. There are many people who think that the Bible is not a practical and relevant book for today, but that's a lie from Satan.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2 Timothy 3:16

The Scripture is profitable, useful, relevant, and practical for every Christian today! There are many Christians who do not want you to open the Bible; they just want a prophecy or a word of knowledge. But you must first get to know the word of God, which is able to save your soul.

Prayer: Ask God to stir up your appetite for the Word of God.

Topic: How To Be Born Again

That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9 (NIV)

The Scripture explains how to be born again; in other words, it shows us the procedure to become a child of God. Any human being who wants to be born again must believe that Jesus is the son of God and that God raised him from the dead; in addition, he must confess with his mouth that Jesus is Lord of his life.

After believing and confessing the Lord Jesus Christ, you become born again and have received eternal life. Which saves you from eternal damnation. This is the good news that Jesus brought to mankind and committed this word of reconciliation to the church.

Every born again, Christian has the responsibility to share the good news that many more people can be saved.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, make me into a channel of blessing to others.

Topic: The Essence of The Word

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. John 1:1-2

The Lord Jesus is “the Word,” the Logos. That is: just as words express thoughts, so is He the perfect expression of who God is. Jesus is the eternal Word and the eternal Son of God.
Now, let's look at three characteristics or essence of the Word:

1. The eternal existence of the Word.
The words “in the beginning” refer back to everything that has a beginning, and then establish that the Word “was”. It, therefore, looks back beyond the first words of the Bible, where we read: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” Genesis 1:1. However far, we can think back, wherever we can think back at the beginning of something, we see that the Word “was” there, that it existed. The Word Itself is without a beginning. It is eternal.

2. The Word was “with God”.
That clearly indicates that the Word is a Person, that the Word had and has a personal existence. So Jesus is a person, and He can become your friend right away as you call on Him.

3. The Word Is God Himself.
In order to understand the representation of the Son in this Gospel, these three characteristics must be known and accepted by faith without reservation. John describes Him in his Gospel as the eternal Son who is truly God Himself. To underline the three characteristics, John says concisely once more: “This was in [the] beginning with God”, with God as the Eternal One. The Word was and is as Person as eternal as God.

When you make a decision to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, you have received God to rigen in your life forever.

Prayer: Pray that the power in the Word of God will thwart every evil attack on your life.

Topic: The One Place To Abide In
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. John 15:4

The word “abide ” (or “remain ”) means to stay, continue, and dwell in one place. The one place believers are to stay in is Christ.
When you came to Jesus and cast yourself on his great atonement and rested on his finished righteousness, you were born into Christ. now you have a duty to stay, continue, dwell, endure, be present, remain, stand, and tarry in Him forever.

How to Stay in Christ
1. Stay in Him as plants in the ground of His love. That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, Ephesians 3:17.

2. Stay in Him as members of His body.
For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.1 Corinthians 12:12-13

3. Stay in Him as stones in His temple.
And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit. Ephesians 2:20-22

4. Stay in Him as members of His household. But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. Hebrews 3:6

Remaining in Christ is something you are to do consciously and willingly.

Prayer: Ask God to save that friend who is not born-again.

Topic: The Trial Of Your Faith

That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: 1 Peter 1:7

The word "trial" means prove or test. Trials reveal whether we truly believe or only think or say we believe in God. When we go on believing through fiery trials and do not turn back to the world, this is strong evidence that our faith is real. So, the trial of your faith as a follower of Jesus Christ is a must and very important.

Men use fire to refine gold and prove it. God puts believers in fiery trials to prove our faith in Him. For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried. Psalms 66:10

No faith is so precious as that which lives and triumphs in adversity. Tried faith brings experience. You could not have believed your own weakness had you not been compelled to pass through the rivers; and you would never have known God’s strength had you not been supported amid the water-floods. Faith increases in solidity, assurance, and intensity, the more it is exercised with tribulation. Faith is precious, and its trial is precious, too.

Declaration: My faith shall remove mountains and conquer impossibilities in Jesus' name. Hallelujah!
