St. Mary Parish Youth Visits Nsawam Female Prison for Annual Charity Work
On Saturday 30th May 2026, the Youth of St. Mary Parish Youth - Asamankese undertook their annual charity outreach at the Nsawam Female Prison. The visit formed part of the youth group’s commitment to showing love, compassion, and support to the less privileged in society.
With generous support from the parish and members of the church, the youth donated various items to the inmates and spent time interacting with them, sharing words of encouragement, hope, and faith. The outreach served as a reminder that every person deserves dignity, care, and an opportunity for transformation.
The delegation was led by their Youth Chaplain, Rev. Fr. David Matey, who offered spiritual guidance throughout the visit. He encouraged both the youth and the inmates to remain steadfast in faith, emphasizing God’s love, mercy, and the importance of supporting one another as a Christian community.
The annual charity work continues to be a significant activity of the St. Mary Parish Youth, reflecting the Church’s mission of service and its call to reach out to those in need. The visit was a meaningful experience for all involved and reinforced the values of charity, compassion, and Christian fellowship.
