TEXT: Isaiah 43:18-19
[18] “Remember not the former things,
nor consider the things of old.
[19] Behold, I am doing a new thing;
now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
and rivers in the desert.
REFLECTION
Dear Beloved, I wish to welcome you to the month of July. Today marks the first day of the second half of the year 2024.
Like in a football match the second half gives opportunity to teams to regroup, re-strategize, bring in new ideas, new players, new tactics and formations to ensure victory at the end of the match. These new strategies and formations are either targeted at securing a win,maintaining their lead, or coming back into the game from a position of losing or sometimes to defending a goal.
Just as managers try to do their best to ensure victory, our God, the captain and savior of our lives is assuring us of newness and victory.
Maybe, the first half of this year has been tough and rough, all the plans and new year’s resolutions you set out to achieve has not seen the light of day and it appears there is no more hope, it looks like you’re losing the game. The difficult situation we find ourselves in as a country may have shattered your plans in business or career, the targets you set to achieve in the area of Spiritual growth is still not been achieved; your marital goals are still in the mix and your plans are in disarray.
I come with good news; God is doing something new, he is paving a new, he is giving you new ideas, he is re- strategizing, he is putting the lines in goodly places, making way in the sea, the desert places and in the wilderness,in that turmoil he is showing you a new path; Don’t be afraid, He is calling us to forget about the past and put aside the old and begin to perceive the new things he doing.
May the Lord cause this newness to spring forth and may the Holy one of Isreal deliver and grant you victory on every side as you step into the second half in Jesus Christ. Amen
