FEAR NOT
( Isaiah 41:10 )
"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
Fear is a common human emotion. We all face moments when we feel afraid—afraid of the future, afraid of failure, afraid of sickness, or even afraid of the unknown. But throughout the Bible, God consistently tells His people "Fear not." Why? Because His presence, His power, and His promises are always with us.
1. God’s Presence Removes Fear
Isaiah 41:10 - "Fear not, for I am with you…"
The greatest comfort we can have in life is knowing that God is with us.
God did not promise a life without challenges, but He promised to walk with us through every trial.
When we remember that we are not alone, our fears begin to lose their power.
Just as a child feels safe when holding the hand of a parent, we can feel secure when we hold on to God.
2. God’s Power Gives Us Strength
"I will strengthen you, I will help you…"
God provides divine strength that surpasses human ability.
He gives us the courage to face situations that seem impossible.
In times of weakness, God is our source of power.
2 Timothy 1:7 - "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
Fear weakens, but God strengthens.
3. God’s Promises Bring Assurance
"I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
God’s promises are reliable and unchanging.
He will uphold us—not with a weak hand—but with His righteous right hand, symbolizing power and justice.
When fear arises, we must remind ourselves of God’s faithful promises.
God promised Joshua, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." (Joshua 1:9)
4. Fear Not in Every Situation
In times of trouble: Psalm 46:1 - "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble."
In times of need: Philippians 4:19 - "And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus."
In times of uncertainty: Proverbs 3:5-6 - "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight."
God's repeated message throughout Scripture is clear: Do not fear.
Why?
Because He is with you.
Because He will strengthen you.
Because He will uphold you.
Let us choose faith over fear.
Let us walk in boldness, trusting the God who never fails.
Whatever fear you are facing today—whether it is fear of the future, fear of failure, or fear of what others may think—surrender it to God. Stand firm on His word and trust in His presence.
( Say This Prayer With Me )
Lord, I thank You that You are always with me. I choose to trust You instead of giving in to fear. Strengthen me, uphold me, and help me to walk in Your peace. In Jesus' name, Amen.
