Happy Weekend😊

Acknowledging God’s Mighty Power
“God has spoken once, twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God.” (Psalm 62:11 NKJV)

Power belongs to God. This is confirmed throughout Scripture. No wonder the Psalmist said, “My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him” (Psalm 62:5, NKJV).

The psalmist learned in his life experience with God, “By awesome deeds in righteousness You will answer us, O God of our salvation, You who are the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of the far-off seas” (Psalm 65:5, NKJV).

Do we as believers have the same expectation as the Psalmist in our everyday living? The answer should be a resounding “YES!”

Where can we find the power of God? Scripture tells us, “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God” (1 Corinthians 1:18, NKJV).

We find the power of God in the cross, which is manifested in the person of Jesus Christ: “…to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God” (1 Corinthians 1:24, NKJV).

We also read in Ephesians that our source of power is God: “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us” (Ephesians 3:20, NKJV).

From Philippians we can see that it is God who works in us: “It is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure” (Philippians 2:13, NKJV).

The Scripture make it clear—power belongs to God. When we acknowledge God’s mighty power, he will answer us with awesome deeds. He is able to do more than we could ask, think, or imagine according to his power that is working inside of us. Such a prospect makes for a great and exciting life!

Ask for it, and expect to happen in God’s time and way.

Today, ask yourself:

Do I have a great sense of expectationy and anticipation that God is at work in my life?

The Lord Will Provide

“So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, ‘On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.’” (Genesis 22:14 NIV)

What an incredibly intense encounter with God! Abraham was told by God to sacrifice his son, Isaac, as a burnt offering. Nothing was more precious to Abraham than his son. Abraham had so much faith in God, and was obedient to the point of preparing to sacrifice Isaac when God, at the last moment, provided the lamb needed for the sacrifice.

What can we learn from Abraham’s encounter with God?

We are called upon to sacrifice the BIG “I” or SELF at the foot of the cross. We do this by trusting in God’s provision for our salvation. We renounce, reject, and repent from trusting in “self-justification” by works, behavior, or anything else for our salvation. Instead, through faith, we accept the gift of Jesus’s sacrifice of his own life on our behalf.

Daily, we are called upon to put to death the misdeeds of the body. Daily, we need the power of the cross to crucify the sinful desires that constantly rear their ugly head. Daily, we rely on the Holy Spirit to help us say “no” to the lures of the world that would keep us from presenting ourselves as instruments of righteousness for expanding the Kingdom of God.

Yes, the BIG “I” or SELF, needs to be tightly fastened to the altar of sacrifice. If we consent to obeying God in this exercise, God will provide the substitute of his life of empowerment, blessing, and fulfillment far beyond anything we could ask, think, or imagine. As we give SELF to him, he gives himself and his LIFE to us.

Today, ask yourself:
Have I allowed the Lord to break me so he can live his life through me? Have I placed the BIG “I” at the foot of the cross?

Happy Birthday to our only Papa REV. OBED AHENAFO. We say God bless and increase you.

Good Afternoon, hope you good?

Is God Working in Your Life?

“…—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.”
(Philippians 2:12–13 NIV)

Have you ever tried to push a car by yourself when the engine was not working?

For most of us it is not possible for us to do so in our own strength.

The key to living the Christian life is trusting in the power of the Holy Spirit to live through us, and not trusting in ourselves to do so. The flesh in itself does not have the power to live the Christian life.

The Holy Spirit is like the engine in the car. The car will not move without the engine working.

The Holy Spirit is like the battery in the flashlight. Unless the battery is working, there is no light.

For the car to move and serve its purpose, the engine must be turned on. For the flashlight to shine a light beam, the battery must be engaged.

For us to live the Christian life, we must be filled with the Holy Spirit and be controlled by him. This occurs when we ask him in faith to fill us and control how we think, feel, and act.

Today’s verse says, “… for it is God who works in you to will and act in order to fulfill his good purpose.”

Our attitude and understanding are key in seeing Christ living his life in us. He is the one who prompts us to work and fulfill the purposes of God. He is the one who empowers us to do his work.

Today, ask yourself:
Do I trust the Holy Spirit to empower me to live and work for Christ, or do I trust self-effort?

Ask God to shine the light of the Holy Spirit into your heart, trusting him to control how you think, feel, and act.

Being in the Way
“….As for me, being in the way, the Lord led me to the house of my master’s brethren.” (Genesis 24:27 NKJV)

For our life to echo into eternity properly, we have to make sure we are on the path the Lord has established for us to follow.

Most of us have experienced being lost or heading in the wrong direction because we have taken a wrong turn. Life is full of “detours” that lead us astray and hinder us from being the effective servants God wants us to be.

The Lord has specific plans for each of us while we are on this side of eternity. In this passage, the servant of Abraham was sent on a mission to obtain a wife for Isaac, the son of Abraham. The servant acknowledged that the Lord had led him since he was in the way God planned for him.

A practitioner of KingdomNomics is not only focused on the mission God gives, but also is sensitive to the importance of doing things God’s way. This is another reason why it is critical for us to follow the principles of soaking our heart in the Word of God, sowing to the Spirit, and flowing with the Spirit as we navigate our way through this world.

By following this path, we have a much clearer focus of how and what God wants us to do as he reveals his will to us. The Psalmist said God’s Word was a lamp to his path. This truth is applicable today.

Today, ask yourself:
Am I confident of being in the way God has planned for me? Am I looking to his Word to guide me?

Ready to Do Good Works?

“Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.”
(2 Timothy 2:21 NIV)

In order to perform effective and safe surgeries, a surgeon must take extreme caution to ensure that instruments are properly sterilized. Otherwise there is a risk of serious infection occurring. Uncleansed instruments are not useful to the surgeon.

One function of God’s Word is to cleanse us as we soak our heart in it. This is vitally necessary if we are to be effective instruments fit for use by God. God has a special purpose for each Christian. He wants to work through us; however, he must have cleansed “instruments” so he can use us for noble purposes.

Scripture tells us, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9, NIV) We can think of this core verse as a spiritual “bar of soap” and embed it in our heart.

Today, ask yourself:
Do I have unconfessed sin in my life? Am I ready to repent of it now?

When we repent of our sins, we will be cleansed, fit for use by the Master, and prepared for the good works he has for us to do.

Soak up God's Word
"Submit to God and be at peace with him; in this way prosperity will come to you." (Job 22 NIV)

The 22nd chapter of Job confirms a few of the basic principles of KingdomNomics for making the Word of God personally operative in our lives.

In verse 21 we are encouraged to acquaint ourselves with God so that we will be at peace with him and have the prospect of good coming our way. It is emphasized for us to receive instruction from his mouth, and then to be sure to lay up his words in our heart.

This confirms that we must soak our heart in the Word of God, treating it like our spiritual M & Ms, that is, memorizing and meditating on it. How good it is to feel and know that God is planning to have good coming our way! These truths point us in the direction of the truth stated in Job 23:14, “For He performs what is appointed for me.” (NKJV)

Wow! This tells us that God is taking an active and working part in our lives as we acquaint ourselves with him and store up his word in our heart.

Today, ask yourself:
Am I acquainting myself with God by memorizing and meditating on his Word?

Doing this will help you store his Word in your heart, and will stimulate you to look for the finger of God working in your daily life.

Obey God in Giving

"All these blessings will come upon you and accompany you if you obey the voice of the LORD your God." (Deuteronomy 28:2)

“The LORD will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The LORD your God will bless you in the land he is giving you.” (Deuteronomy 28:8)

According to these passages, obedience to God results in blessing. It appears that blessing will chase us andeven overtake us when we obey him. Since God’s principles are eternal, they never change. Passages like these are “button pushers” that God uses as incentives for us. When I read these passages, they make me want to test them, to see if they will be operative in my own life. God wants us to try them in faith, believing that he will fulfill his promises in response to our obedience. Our giving is always an act of obedience. We respond to the Holy Spirit’s direction.

There is aworld of opportunity out there for giving to the various interests of God. We live in a desperate and dying world, and we as believers are compelled to do something about it. There are as many ways to do this as there are people in the world. Part of the transformation process for us as believers is that we move from being self-centered to being God-centered. We must replace the consumption mentality that is so prevalent in our culture to a giving mentality that is often misunderstood.
