*MAKE YOUR HOME MISSIONS FIELD*
~_*On the missions field and home*_ ~
On the missions field, we proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ as lord and saviour unto the community folks, we do follow ups, disciple new converts through *devotions, Bible reading, life coaching, mentoring, prayer meetings etc* to conform them into the image of Christ (Romans 8:29-30; Gal. 4:19).
But have we forgotten that our home is also a community as well? It's time we engaged our families with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, do regular follow up checks on them to see how best are they growing in the faith, encouraging them to have regular devotion life etc.
Do the missionary work in your home as well. It is good to go out to tell people about Jesus Christ but start from your home.

*Make your home a missionary field.*

*USE YOUR HOME...*
*PARENTS/ GUARDIAN*
When was the last time you personally talked or witnessed to your children or child about God? Our children are the immediate souls God brings our way to make ready for His Kingdom. God gave those gifts to you to serve as a care taker and expects you to render account of them when He calls you home. God commands parents/guardians to teach and talk about His commands to our children at home,- morning and evening. The below verses expands this very well.
… *Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates, so that your days and the days of your children may be many… Deut. 11:18-21*

We should not look far, look close to your home. They are the immediate souls to win before you can go out. *Make your home a missionary field as a parent.*

*TYPES OF MISSIONARIES*
Missionary work sounds awkward in the ears of many but as we assess some forms of missionaries, I believe your doubts would be cleared and decide today to be a missionary now.

*1.Givers* – Acts 10:10-15, Emphasis vs 14
You can resolve to give a percentage of your income regularly to support missions. It is not the volume or size of the gift that matters. You can be a fundraiser for missions. One of the greatest fundraisers who ever lived is Oswald J. Smith.

*2.Goers* – Acts 10:10-13, Mark 16:15-16
You can decide to volunteer to reach out to places to minister to the underprivileged in diverse ways whilst ministering the gospel to them. You can also come on board with what I call the carrier missionary model. With this, your professional training becomes your tool for impacting communities with the gospel and deeds whiles you practice your profession. Your profession can buy both present and future rewards for you in the kingdom of God. Eg. Medical missions, agricultural missions, teaching, sports, etc.

*The Diary of JIM ELLIOT*

Jim Elliot was among a group of US missionaries who felt called to share Christ's teaching with the Waodani tribe in Ecuador in the 1950s. At the time, the Waodani were one of the most violent known people groups on earth, who regularly practised homicide and fiercely defended their territory against those wishing to exploit the rich Amazonian land.

Elliot and his fellow missionaries initiated contact with the tribe after being taught some of their language; first by dropping gifts down from a plane and later establishing a camp not far from the Waodani settlement.

In January 1956, however, the five men were killed by members of the tribe as they approached them in person for the first time with the hopes of sharing the gospel.

The story generated worldwide news coverage, and Elliot's wife, Elisabeth, has since written a bestselling book entitled 'Through the Gates of Splendor' about her husband's journey. Jim's journal, which famously features the quote "He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose", has also been read by thousands of believers around the world.

Amazingly, Elisabeth and the sister of another of the missionaries, Rachel, were introduced to the Waodani just two years after their murder, and were invited to live among the tribe. Many of them came to faith.

*Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.*

From the above, we're admonished to be careful of how we handle the people we're serving but not they serving us. God placed you there for a purpose but not to abuse,use them for our own gain, take advantage of their weakness and abuse them. God placed you there to be a missionary but not an ammunition to destroy.
*Make your workplace your missions field* Let your subordinates, students, colleagues know the Jesus Christ you have and testify about him to them. Join God's train of soul winning now!

WHAT IS MISSION(S)
Mission is God’s mission. God’s mission is to REDEEM man from the fallen estate (Gen. 3:15).
Mission can therefore be defined as the purpose of God on earth – to Redeem lost man into fellowship with the Godhead. This is what is called the GRAND AGENDA.
Missions is therefore the activities God’s people do to accomplish the purpose of God on earth (Chris Wright,2010).
According to John Stott, mission arises from the heart of God Himself and is communicated from His heart to ours. Mission is the global outreach of the global people of a global God.

Jesus was the first missionary of the Gospel. He is the missionary on which all missionary work is to be modeled, for He said: “As the Father has sent Me, so I send you” – John 20:21.
