Devotion

Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
Luke 23:42–43, NIV

When Jesus was dying on the cross, there were two thieves crucified on each side of Him. One mocked Him and said, “You can’t even save yourself.” The other thief said, “Jesus, when You come into Your kingdom, please remember me.” He believed Jesus was the Messiah, that He was the King of God’s kingdom. Jesus didn’t respond, “I don’t know you. You didn’t follow Me or My teachings. You’re a thief.” No, Jesus said, “This day you will be with Me in paradise.” Down to His last breath on this earth, Jesus was showing us that He chooses strangers, that our past doesn’t determine our future, that when we’re at our worst, God is at His best. That’s when His mercy shows out. Jesus was saying, “By grace you are saved, through faith—it is a gift from God.” The tragedy is to go through life being chosen and never recognize it. You have to accept that God has a calling on your life. He’s put seeds of greatness in you. He’s given you a purpose, a divine assignment. And it’s all by grace. Remain blessed.

Devotion

“Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.
Jeremiah 32:17, NKJV

Do you ever have thoughts that the God who is so precise, so detailed, that He causes the earth to rotate down to the millisecond and has stars, planets, and galaxies fit perfectly in place and stay in order is somehow going to falter in His plan for your life? Do you think He would ever let something happen that wasn’t designed, a bad break or a messy situation, keep you from your destiny? If He made a mistake with you, you would be the first one. You’re going to go through some messy places, things you don’t understand, weaknesses that you haven’t overcome, but it’s all a part of the process. It may be uncomfortable, you may have brought the trouble to yourself, but it’s not a surprise to God. When He designed your plan, He took it into account. Despite the wrong choices, despite the dysfunction, despite the delays, what makes you think God4s not going to bring to pass what He promised you? You’re under construction. That’s part of the process. It doesn’t mean God’s not going to finish what He started. Let your joy be full in the Lord. Remain blessed.

Devotion

Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward Him, and said of him, “Here is an Israelite indeed [a true descendant of Jacob], in whom there is no guile nor deceit nor duplicity!” John 1:47 AMP

One of our personal goals should be that we are so honest, so above board, so full of integrity that Jesus can describe us as He did Nathanael. “That’s not me,” you say. Maybe not yet, but it can be. You can become a person of integrity who does the right thing when no one is watching. It starts in the home. When you have integrity, you’re the same in private as you are in public. You don’t treat people at work nice and kind and come home and be rude and harsh to your family. You should treat your family better than you treat anyone else. Don’t be kinder and more considerate to coworkers than you are to your spouse and children. You don’t have to be perfect, but you have to be real. You can’t change if you don’t acknowledge that you need to change. Ask yourself, “Where is my love and care falling short? If I was standing before God, what attitude would I bring?” Let your joy be full in the Lord. Remain blessed.

Devotion

Be prepared in season and out of season.
2 Timothy 4:2, NIV

When Paul told Timothy to “be prepared in season and out of season,” he was talking about ministering, but the principle is true when you’re waiting for God to do something. Stay prepared in your mind in season, when things are going your way, and out of season, when the medical report is not good, when your business slows down. Don’t live discouraged and put God in a box that limits how He does it. Don’t tell Him how or when to do it. No, get ready for God to show up out of season. God knows how to bring what you need. The odds may be against you, and you don’t see any sign of things changing. God is asking you what He asked Moses in Numbers 11: “Is there any limit to My power? Do you think the conditions can hold Me back? Do you think the seasons can stop Me from doing what I want to do?” Take the limits off God. Start expecting, start believing. Don’t be surprised when God shows up when you don’t see Him coming. Let your joy be full in the Lord. Remain blessed.

Devotion

“We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing.”
2 Thessalonians 1:3, NIV

God’s desire is to see you grow and increase in every area of your life, especially in your love for others. That’s because love is the greatest thing, and it is all that matters in eternity. At the end of the day, at the end of our lives here on earth, love is what will last forever! Notice this verse tells us that love and faith are connected. It says in another verse that faith works by love. Love isn’t about feelings and emotions; it’s about the choice to treat people the way God tells us to in His Word. We are never more like God than when we are walking in love—when we are being patient and kind; when we are extending grace and mercy and forgiving others the way Christ has forgiven us. The more we know Him, and the more we know His Word, the more we will walk in love. Let your joy be full in the Lord. Remain blessed.

“A man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before great men.” Proverbs 18:16, NASB

When people hear the story of David and Goliath, sometimes they think, “That was all God.” And yes, in a sense, it was all God; but God didn’t sling the stone. David had a role to play, too. God gave David the skill that he had to develop in order to be prepared for that defining moment.” Like David, God has put in you skill that can slay a giant. You have skill that can open new doors, skills that can lead to an abundant life, but the key is that your skill has to be developed. Every day that you spend growing, learning and improving, you’re getting prepared for that new level.” Today, while you’re waiting for that new opportunity, start sharpening your skills. Study your boss. Study your fellowship leader. Learn on the job. Be able to step into their shoes. When God sees that you are prepared, He can open new doors. The Scripture says, “Your gifts will make room for you.” Keep developing your skills because there is a giant slayer in you! Let your joy be full in the Lord. Remain blessed.

Devotion

When darkness overtakes him, light will come bursting in. He is kind and merciful.
Psalm 112:4 TLB

Anytime you are going through difficult, dark times, know that God already has a plan to bring you through to victory. When you call on His name, when you surrender your circumstances to Him, that’s when His light will come bursting through the darkness. Notice, it’s not going to trickle in, it’s not going to just barely get there. No, like a flood, like the breaking forth of waters, it’s going to come bursting in! I believe it means that suddenly, you’re going to get well. Suddenly, you will meet the right person. Suddenly, you’re able to pay your debts off. Our attitude should be, “My healing may have been delayed but I’m expecting a flood of God’s mercy to bring total restoration back to me.” Or, “My business may not be doing so well for a year and hasn’t been lucrative, but I’m expecting a flood of favor to cause a positive business turnaround and start making profits.” In the midst of all these difficulties, don’t get discouraged. You’re in a prime position to see a flood of God’s goodness. Keep praising Him. Keep thanking Him and stay in faith because His light will break through the darkness! Remain blessed.

Devotion

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”
Matthew 7:7, NIV

Is there an area of your life that you need God’s help in? A lot of times, it’s easy to think that we’re not supposed to ask for too much, but the Scripture encourages us to go to God with all our needs. He longs to give you the desires of your heart and pour out His favor and blessing on you. In fact, the apostle James said, “You have not because you do not ask” (James 4:2). When you step out and ask for God’s favor, His blessings and His increase, you are activating your faith. And when you pray, ask Him to search your heart and mind. See if there is any unforgiveness that is blocking your prayers and affecting your relationship with Him. The other person may have been wrong, they may have hurt you deeply, but there is nothing on this earth that is worth losing your peace with Almighty God. Today, when you pray, choose forgiveness and don’t let anything stand in the way of the good things God has in store for your future! Let your joy be full in the Lord. Remain blessed.

..Then Moses said, “Now show me your glory.”
Exodus 33:18, NIV

Moses was talking to God and said, God, show me Your glory. “God responded by saying, in effect, “Okay, Moses. I’ll show it to you, but you can’t see My face. The way you’ll know that I’ve been here is that you will see My goodness.’ Whenever something good happens, large or small, God is saying, “That’s a sign of My presence.” If you’re seeing goodness in your life, you’re seeing God. You’re seeing a sign of His presence. I’m convinced that we see God at work all day long, but many times we don’t recognize it. Today, be on the lookout for God’s goodness. Thank Him and praise Him for the little things as well as the big things. As you acknowledge His goodness, you’ll see Him more clearly and know His love in ways you never have before. Let your joy be full in the Lord. Remain blessed.

Devotion

“...While he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him...”
Luke 15:20, NIV

MHB 338 says RESCUE the perishing, care for the dying, Sn**ch them in pity from sin and the grave; Weep o’er the erring one, Lift up the fallen, Tell them of Jesus the mighty to save. Rescue the perishing, care for the dying; Jesus is merciful, Jesus will save.

Most of the time, we believe that God loves us as long as we’re making good decisions, resisting temptation, and treating people right. But there will be times when you compromise, times when you have doubts, times when you fail. When we don’t perform perfectly, it’s easy to think that God is far from us. I say this respectfully, but sometimes religion pushes people down. It says, “If you make poor choices, you’re on your own.” But the truth is that when you fall, God doesn’t turn away from you. He comes running toward you. When you blow it, God doesn’t say, “Too bad. You had your chance.” Rather, He comes after you with a greater passion. When you make a mistake, God loves you so much that He pursues you. He won’t leave you alone until He sees you restored and back on the right course this year 2026. That’s the mercy of God coming after you. God loves imperfect people. Let your joy be full in the Lord.
