Leviticus 23:1-4 KJVS
And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the Lord , which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts. Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein : it is the sabbath of the Lord in all your dwellings. These are the feasts of the Lord , even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.
Many believers hold in their hearts the notion that the feast of the Lord which has been upheld by the nation of Israel is a thing of the old covenant and so should not be attended to in the new covenant era. The Bible emphatically says these feasts are the feasts of the Lord but not just a feast of the old covenant. The bible says Jesus, after his resurrection, was made both Lord and Christ ( Acts 2:36). This tells us how that the feasts have become the feasts of our Lord Jesus Christ, and hence still holds in this era of the new covenant.
The feasts as instructed in the writings of Moses were seven (feasts of Passover, unleavened bread, first fruits, Pentecost, trumpets, atonement and tabernacles) and in the advent of time, two other feasts were brought in the scene; the feasts of Purim and Hanukkah. Upon a critical study of the word of God and the leadings of the spirit of God, we notice how these two feasts have been in existence as far back as the seven feasts. Feast of Purim is about the casting of lots and Hanukkah is about the celebration of lights. The scriptures describe Christ as being the ram without blemish chosen before the foundation of the world. This then presupposes that, just as by the casting of lots the ram for the sacrifice by the high priest is chosen, so, in similitude, was Christ chosen before the foundation of the world. This is clearly the feast of Purim.
In the book of Genesis, the Bible speaks of how God spoke forth Light by means of the Amen. This speaks of the feast of Hanukkah. These nine feasts are the nine illuminations or journeys the born again has to go through for the birthing forth of the Man child in us. This is the journey of overcomers. Observing them helps your inner man to be energized by the vibrations of the divine energies released into the world during these seasons. Walking in the light of this reality lightens our heart with the light of divine wisdom for the accomplishment of our assignment and ministry here on earth.
MAY THE WISDOM OF GOD BE STIRRED IN US FOR AN ACTIVE AND PRODUCTIVE LIVING AS OVERCOMERS. IN JESUS NAME!!!
