OPIC THE UNHEEDED PROMISE 4

John 16.33

Jesus said the devil is a thief but he will never come as a

1. Burglar: Breaking in at times you aren't aware, not at home or asleep
2. Armed robber With guns at broad daylight and kill at any given opportunity

3. The devil always comes like a pick-pocket... Very difficult to catch... Not knowing the time and the style they use in picking....

Jesus explained in Luke 12:50 how He had a suffering to undertake and could not wait. That suffering was all shame but He said "I can't wait." Compared to Christians today, we hate anything suffering...

Today's Christian seek to dictate to Christ how to live and what to do not what He Christ wants

The Apostolic Witness
Acts 14:22; Philip. 1:29

Paul was speaking to people who have just come to Christ and he indicated that they should know that in Christ and before one get to be with Christ, there will be Many tribulations.

In the book of Philippians, Paul again says we should not only accept that we have not been granted to believe but to also partake in His suffering.

1 Thess. 3:3-4
Here again Paul is telling Christian that it's destined that Christians suffer.

We must all get it right here and then that suffering was part of the promises Jesus gave before departing.... That is why we are told in James 1:2-4

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything".

TOPIC: THE UNNEEDED PROMISE

John 16:33
There's a promise within all the promises which seems to be hidden from the church . That's why
- There's so much churchianity
- So much worldliness I'm the church
In this sermon three things shall be looked at
* Testimony of Jesus
* The Apostolic Witness
* Testimony of the Martyr's
JESUS' VERDICT
John 16:33; Matthew 10:32-39; John 15:18-20; Matthew 5:10-12
* The church is sick
* What the church seeks after are riches
Jesus said we are the salt meaning
* We are unique
* We are distinctive
* We bring peace where there's chaos
* We come to normalize situations

Jesus never promised us the world but told us in plain how the world was going to be a nemesis to our following

Look stay in Christ as long as you live and in humility away from those who acting as though all we see is all that matters - that is a failure.

What does it mean to set a brother against a brother?

It is all about one standing for the truth in Christ and suffering for it. What Jesus is saying is this:
* Relationship might collapse because some stood for me and became outcasts
* Fathers may disown children and vice-versa because one stood for God
* Divisions will come because some will stand on the side of God

Remember these are NOT the creations of Christ, they will come about the actions of man and by the conviction based on the 'little' love we have in Christ. I say 'Little' because man's love is really 'little.'

Sermons and teachings have been built around these scriptural verses but it seems man just did not see this is one of Christ's Biggest Promises.

May God have mercy on us

PRAYER: Father thank you for your Word. Please give me an understanding ear to rasps all these mysteries in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen

- There's so much churchianity instead of Christianity
- So much worldliness in the church

Jesus said we are the salt meaning
* We are unique
* We are distinctive
* We bring peace where there's chaos
* We come to normalize situations

Jesus never promised us the world but told us in plain how the world was going to be a nemesis to our following Him

The real failures in Christianity are those who are acting as though all we see is all that matters

So the question is "When does a man stand stand against his father?"
When a son will not do as the father say because it is against the principles of God, he has stood against his father.

If the other couple reject to the bidding of the other because it is against the Will of God, which possibly can lead to disturbances in the marriage and possibly divorce, it is the one against the other.

This issue of setting against is NOT a creation of Christ but the actions of man and especially when acting or standing FOR or AGAINST Christ.

So if you are persecuted for doing the RIGHT THING then understand it is one of the PROMISES OF CHRIST.

Up till now, these verses are sitting in the Bible, sermons are built around them but they are really not spoken about and to even say to be regarded as PROMISES

May God have mercy on us.

Henceforth we shall ensure that we pick a topic and discuss. These topics are about our lives as Christian and how best we can live the life which would be worthy to Him who has called us.

Luke 21:1-4: 1Kings 17:7-16

LET YOUR FAITH WORK FOR YOU

Many people have that feeling of inadequacy; A feeling of having nothing but Jesus in thus encounter at the temple with the widow showed the EVERYONE gas something.

Can you imagine a labourer challenging the Finance Director about money?

Jesus is MORE than any position or thing. So if He says YOU HAVE, just BELIEVE.

The woman was a widow. All she had were 2 pesewas which was/is NOTHING. But she rather became the BEST GIVER. Why? Not because she had everything but she BELIEVED she had something - 2 Pesewas.

In the case of Elijah, the famine and poverty which had come because he Elijah prophesied could have made the widow tell Elijah, are you new in town, look at me and see if I can do something...?

She AGREED to give water, on her way Elijah asked her to add bread. Even after her response he said DO MINE FIRST.

The widow did nit because she had but SHE BELIEVED and did as she was told.

Brethren it's all about BELIEVE. UF YOU BELIEVE YOU HAVE, SO SHALL IT BE but if you believe otherwise so shall it be.

LET YOUR FAITH WORK FOR YOU.

Good day Brothers and Sisters

Hope you were at auditorium with other ekklesia (church) CALLED OUT to Honour Our Lord and Saviour. I also hope you took something valuable home in the sermon given today.

Today I discovered something at a place of worship during the Praise and Worship time. The leader was like "Nose mop3 praises, praises na mob3nya.... (You said yiu want praises. That's what you'll get)

I was confused.
WHO SAID?
WHO US GIVING?

Such language in itself is sarcastic in a way. It's like someone has been pestering you for something and out if desperation you say TAKE IT ...

I git to know it's a recorded song being played around. My question still stands ...
Who said that? God? When did He pester humains that He wanted praises such that we giving it to Him that way?

Giving by whom? Jesus said He isn't FORCING anyone to praise Him because He can cause stones to do that...

Let's assume without admitting that He really wants it from us, is that how we talk back or express it?

On the other thought it maybe for man, do we now praise man in the arena of God's abide or in the name of Gospel- GOOD NEWS?

We should all be careful of the songs we might think is godly but which in reality, maybe the opposite.

I have heard people sing this Nigerian generated song, "Baaba oluwa oshe...." albeit without understanding. This song was composed to Baaba Olumba Olumba Obu OOO, a Nigerian spiritualist by his church members fir the exploit they saw in him.

It comes nowhere to praising the Lord. The next time you draw your handkerchief to wave abd dance to "Baaba oluwa oshe..." Remember you just saying THANK YOU BAABA OOO....

SHINE YOUR EYES in whatever song that might sound Christian but......

WHAT IS LOVE
This question has been bothering a lot of people. A lot interpretation and misinterpretation has been given to it.

But it remains the MOST POWERFUL COMMAND TO OBEY. Love God, Live your neighbor. It sounds so so simple

People JOKE about it
People profess it SARCASTICALLY
People just ADMIRE IT
People SING about it
People TALK it

WHAT IS NOT LOVE
Love isn't TALKING, it adds nothing. It remains a mere sometimes foolish talk

Love isn't EXPECTATIONS. Love has never looked back because it did a deed. Expectants aren't lovers

Love isn't the songs you hear or sing. They are mere talks relayed in lyrical form

Love isn't a FEELING. Please check that feeling well. It's an arousal sometimes of something stupid. Don't misinterpret as Love etc etc

WHAT IS LOVE
Love is NONSENSE! I know you'll be ASKING WHAT? Yes love is non sense. It's that which make people ask IS HE/SHE OIT OF MIND. This is not about man/woman relationship. It's a general expression showed by a fellow han being that always sounds nonsensical in all senses.

Love is a WAY OF LIFE. When you hungry, nobody tells you and you go out to ensure you eat. You wake up at that time because you know it's time to work etc. That's how love should operate

Love is an EXPRESSION IN DEED. Mist fine musicians have Beautiful songs about love but they are WORST LOVERS. Love expresses herself to all in deeds.

THE NATURE OF MAN
Man will forever has difficulty in loving because he's always expectant. Imagine Christ expecting something from us ......

Shalom Family

I hope we were at our various places of worship to APPRECIATE God and His GOODNESS.

I pray that as the servant of Elisha's eyes were opened for him to see that the armies for them were more than those against them, God will OPEN OUR EYES to see that we are MORE THAN CONQUERORS.

This week will bring God's PERFECT WILL to fruition in our lives. We shall LIVE TO PROCLAIM HIS FAVOURS.
