SIN HAS NO DOMINION OVER YOU! 5

This means that acts of sin should not have dominion over a child of God. Why? It's because he's not under the law but under Grace. Glory! By virtue of his being under Grace, he's under the dominion of righteousness. He's as righteous as Christ.

However, a believer can still be dominated by acts of sin and that's not because the Word is not the truth. It is only because he is yet to come to the consciousness of the truth that he has been delivered from the dominion of sin into the dominion of righteousness. He's yet to fully grasp that he's no longer under the law where sin is Lord but under Grace where righteousness is Lord.

This, however, is not a big issue, for with developing a consciousness of his new state of being in righteousness, those acts of sin will fall away and he will manifest the deeds of his righteous nature.
Developing consciousness of this truth can be done through continual study of the Word of Grace, declarations and praying for the spirit of wisdom and revelation (Ephesians 1:17-18). It is a process so it may take time but it sure is powerful. This is also referred to as renewing the mind and it is the way transformation occurs (Romans 12:2)

When the child of God under grace becomes conscious of this reality, that he is just as Christ in the spirit, separated from sin and alive unto God, he won't yield to sin anymore and his experience will be "Sin has no dominion over me, for I am not under the law but under Grace." So what are we to do? To strive not to sin? No! We are to simply consider ourselves as Christ; dead(separated) to sin but alive(in union) unto God. And the fruit is right living which abounds in glory to God.

You are deeply loved!

SIN HAS NO DOMINION OVER YOU! 4

This means that the child of God who has received the gospel has partaken of the deliverance from the dominion sin that Christ purchased for him. He has been translated into the realm where righteousness is Lord. This child of God is under Grace and is not a slave to sin. No! The law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set him free from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:2)

Therefore, sin has no dominion over him. He has left the realm where sin is Lord. Sin can no longer dictate to him. Why? It's because he has left the realm where sin is King. He has a new Lord called righteousness. This new Lord dictates his moves. He's now a willing slave of this new Lord called righteousness.

This means that acts of sin should not have dominion over a child of God. Why? It's because he's not under the law but under Grace. Glory! By virtue of his being under Grace, he's under the dominion of righteousness. He's as righteous as Christ....

SIN HAS NO DOMINION OVER YOU! 3

We are made right with God(righteous) by trusting in Christ and not in the works of the law.
This shows that all who were under the law were sinners; slaves to sin and only salvation through the faith of Christ could save them.

Romans 6:17-18 (NLT)
Thank God! Once you were slaves of sin, but now you wholeheartedly obey this teaching we have given you. Now you are free from your slavery to sin, and you have become slaves to righteous living.

They were once slaves to sin under the law but by obeying the teachings they got from Paul, they were delivered and were now slaves of righteousness under Grace. What teachings did they obey?.

1 Corinthians 15:3-4
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

He delivered the gospel of Christ to them as he did in all the places he preached and they obeyed it by responding in faith. As a result, they were delivered from sin into righteousness. They were delivered from the law into Grace.

This means that the child of God who has received the gospel has partaken of the deliverance from the dominion sin that Christ purchased for him. He has been delivered from under the law where sin is Lord and has been translated into the realm where righteousness is Lord. This child of God who's under Grace is not a slave to sin. No! The law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set him free from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:2)....

SIN HAS NO DOMINION OVER YOU! 2

This shows something remarkable about Paul's statement in Romans 6:14. He said that sin shall not have dominion over you. Why? it's because you are not under the law. Under the law, sin had dominion over all. The man under the law by virtue of his consistent failure to continually obey all that is written in the law was already under the dominion of sin.

Paul touched on this when he talked about those the law was made for;

1 Timothy 1:9-10
knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

If the law is not made for the righteous but for the lawless, then it means that all who were under the law were not righteous. Of course, the law couldn't make anybody righteous.

Romans 3:20 (NLT)
For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are.

Righteousness is only by the faith of Christ.

Romans 3:21-22 (NLT)
But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago. We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.

We are made right with God(righteous) by trusting in Christ and not in the works of the law.
This shows that all who were under the law were sinners; slaves to sin and only salvation through the faith of Christ could save them....

SIN HAS NO DOMINION OVER YOU! 1

Romans 6:14
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Why was this statement made? What is it about being under the law and the dominion of sin? In earlier verses of Romans, Paul showed us how all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. The Jews who had the law had sinned and the Gentiles too who did not have the law had sinned. He, then, went on to reveal that the law was actually given to show that all are guilty before God. (Romans 3:19)

The Israelites were under the law and thought they were righteous in the sight of God, little did they know that the were in bo***ge to sin. The Gentiles were not given the law, yet they were condemned, for it was written on their conscience.

Romans 2:14-15 (NLT)
Even Gentiles, who do not have God’s written law, show that they know his law when they instinctively obey it, even without having heard it. *They demonstrate that God’s law is written in their hearts, for their own conscience and thoughts either accuse them or tell them they are doing right.*

So the Gentiles too were condemned because they could not match up to the standard of the law.

Romans 2:12
For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;

So the verdict under the law was that all, whether Jews or Gentiles had sinned and come short of the glory of God. Everyone under the law was under the dominion of sin.

This shows something remarkable about Paul's statement in Romans 6:14. He said that sin shall not have dominion over you. Why? it's because you are not under the law. Under the law, sin had dominion over all. The man under the law by virtue of his consistent failure to continually obey all that is written in the law was already under the dominion of sin...

In this month of February, we are looking at ETERNAL REDEMPTION in our whatsapp group page. So far we have seen lovely pictures of Christ our redeemer through the Old Testament in the story of Ruth. Here are few highlights.

1. The Lord Jesus Christ is our kinsman Redeemer.

a. He is our Kinsman by his incarnation!

b. He is mighty, for he is God.

c. He is a Kinsman of great wealth - All the fulness of grace and glory is in him!

2. As Boaz loved Ruth, so Christ Jesus loved us without a cause, freely.

“I have loved thee, with an everlasting love!”

“Herein is love…”

“We love him, because he first loved us!”

“I have drawn thee with the cords of love!”

3. As Boaz promised to redeem Ruth, so the Son of God promised to redeem us in the covenant of grace before the world began (Heb. 7:22).

4.. But, as with Ruth, there was one who had first claim upon us.

a. The law of God held us as its captors (Job 9:2; 25:4-6).

b. But the law of God says, “I cannot redeem the fallen one, lest I mar my righteousness.” The law has claim upon us, but not the ability to redeem us. The law is our kinsman condemner, but could never be our deliverer

5. As Boaz took Ruth to be his wife, so the Lord Jesus has taken us to be his bride (vv. 13-15).

FAVOR TO THE UNDESERVING

Throughout Genesis, we see God showing forth his desire to favor the undeserving and weak ones. There was Leah, though, eldest was not chosen by Jacob because there wasn't any thing attractive about her.

Genesis 29:17(NLT)
There was no sparkle in Leah’s eyes, but Rachel had a beautiful figure and a lovely face.

It was no wonder Jacob chose Rachel over her. However, she was made to marry Jacob first and was favored to bear many children than Rachael, her younger sister who had all the attractive features.

Then there was Jacob himself who didn't deserve the blessing because he wasn't the first born. He was a swindler as his name suggested. But he was favored to get the blessing and give birth to the nation Israel from whom the seed(Christ) came forth. Then there was Joseph who was made King over his parents and elder brothers. These and many others throughout the Old Testament were favored though they were undeserving.

In this day, God is still gracious and has already poured out his favor on you. You are highly favored of the Father even if you do not have any distinguishing quality. See yourself favored in all you do. See yourself as the chosen one among a million people. Abba Father has chosen to favor you because you are in Christ!

You are deeply loved!

Sickness and health doesn't come from one source.

Gen 1:31
And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Scripture makes it emphatically clear that everything that God made Was *PERFECT*, without Sin and sickness and that reveals the purpose of God. His purpose is for us to live in perfection. Christ in you means healing and health in you. Don't embrace sickness anymore.

SICKNESS IS NOT OF GOD

James 3:10
Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. 11Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet waterand bitter? 12Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.

Sickness and health doesn't come from one source.

Gen 1:31
31And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Scripture makes it emphatically clear that everything that God made Was *PERFECT*, without Sin and sickness and that reveals the purpose of God. His purpose for us to live in perfection.

3John 1:2
2Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Acts 10:38
38how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

When God is somewhere, healing is there
Why? It's because that's his nature and he is the giver and creator of Life. And healing is nothing less of releasing LIFE OR ENERGY. Christ in you means healing and health in you. Don't embrace sickness anymore.

UNION WITH DEITY

In Job 9, Job expresses the futility of man ever becoming right with God. He says that even if man does the most upright thing ever on earth, God was still going to find him guilty. Then he expresses what passes as the heartcry of humanity. He says that God is not a man like himself so he can't plead his case before him. He goes on to say that if he had a mediator between himself and God, then at least, he could come to terms with God and perhaps God might not punish him for his sins. But he found none and so his desire could not come to pass.

We all feel the same. Perhaps, if God was a man, we think, he could feel what we feel and be merciful. But since he's God far up there and we are men down here, then there's no hope.

Like Job, we express:
“God is not a mortal like me, so I cannot argue with him or take him to trial. If only there were a mediator between us, someone who could bring us together. (Job 9:32-33 NLT)

In Christ, however, this age long
desire has been met. God emptied his fullness into a human body (Christ) and became sin with mankind's sin. He identified with humanity and felt what we felt and experienced what we experienced.
By doing away with sin, he made it possible for man to be identified with God as his very children.

Now God is not distant and far from any of us, as children of God. He dwells in us and we dwell in him. We find our being in him and he find expression through us. As he's said, "He will never leave us nor forsake us", because we are one body. In Christ, we have a mediator who has brought man and God together in everlasting union. Everyone can partake of this union simply by accepting Christ.

YOU ARE ALTOGETHER PRECIOUS TO GOD!

The teaching on spirit, soul and body can be confusing sometimes if we do not understand it properly. When we say your spirit is righteous for instance, we do not mean your soul and body are sinners. This gives the idea of two natures. That's not so. All that it means is that the part of you that has experienced the reality of righteousness fully is your spirit. If you had no soul or body, you would think and live righteously as Christ.

It doesn't mean your soul or body is evil. It just means that they are so accustomed to the ways of the old man so much so that if they are not directed through renewing of mind, the righteousness in your spirit cannot flow through your soul into your body; you will still think and act wrong.

This being said, your spirit, soul and body are precious to God; he actually wants to be known through them. Your soul is the avenue for expressing the will, thoughts and emotions of your spirit and your body gives permission for your existence here on earth. Without these two, your spirit will have no influence on the earth.

This means that the reason Christ dwells in you is to move through your soul into your body to the outer world. Renewing your mind with the knowledge of who you are in the spirit allows for that.

OUR MERCIFUL HIGH PRIEST

The High Priest of the Old Testament had to be taken from the people. This means that he had to be a man who had infirmities so that he could bear with the sins of people.

Hebrews 5:1-2
For every high priest TAKEN FROM AMONG MEN is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins: who can have COMPASSION on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.

This was the reason it was necessary that Jesus became a man. By becoming a man, he experienced what men experienced. As a result, he's now a merciful and faithful High Priest who's able to come to the aid of people who sin. When you have gone through what someone is currently going through, you reaction isn't condemnation but compassion.

Hebrews 2:17-18
Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be MADE LIKE UNTO HIS BRETHREN, that HE MIGHT BE A MERCIFUL AND FAITHFUL HIGH PRIEST in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to SUCCOUR them that are tempted.

Today, if you have done any wrong or are struggling with any sin, Christ isn't going to condemn you. Not at all. He's the one who became like you and died for you. He knows what you are feeling and he's in the presence of God as a living testimony that your sins are all paid for. He's willing to come to your aid with the knowledge of his finished works because that is what will set you free.
