Partakers of the Promise

_Galatians 3:29_
_And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise._

A Jewish peddler was taking a train from Minsk to Pinsk. Stuffed with his wares into his tiny cabin, he was surprised to see an officer of the army join him there. The officer, recognizing this peddler was a Jew, asked him "why are you Jews so good at business?" The answer was shocking. Schmaltz herring, the peddler said. We eat a lot of it all the time.

There are plenty of theories why the Jews are so successful in what they do especially in business. From the theory of genetics to cultural sensibilities to the herring theory. The Jews make up 0.2 percent of the world's population yet they represent more than ten percent (10%) of the Forbes 400 list of the world's wealthiest people.

Why am I bringing all these stories and facts? The Jews are a blessed breed of people with notable signs and wonders because of God's promise to their ancestor Abraham. But thanks be to God that Abraham is also our ancestor through faith in Jesus Christ. You're a Jew inwardly by the circumcision of your heart in the spirit. The Abrahamic blessings are also ours. GO AND BECOME SUCCESSFUL.

It is often said that pride goes before a fall. Before a man becomes a victim of a sudden fall, there may have been signs and indications showed him which he ignored or belittled.

This story of King Nebuchadnezzar depicts a scene of inattentiveness to obvious indications of a looming tragedy. Most people in life just like this king wait till the inevitable has occurred before they make amends whiles they could have avoided trouble by simply paying attention to the handwritings on the wall.

The love of God is so big but He can't take certain decisions for us. He'll always give us cues in dreams, visions and through His word to warn us. Even though God in his omniscience allows people to commit blunders just like He hardened the heart of pharoah, that's rare because He always makes enough room for change of heart and repentance by giving us the signs of danger. Nebuchadnezzar received his greater share of God's warning but decided to heed to it the painful and hard way.

Beloved, delayed obedience can be tantamount to disobedience. What you must do, do it now and whatever you must stop, stop it now. Don't wait to become a beast for seven years to learn your lessons just like Nebuchadnezzar did. You can imagine all that he could have achieved with all the time he wasted in the field eating grass, which could have been avoided.

Time waits for no man. A wasted time is very difficult to recover, even if you want to pray. When you see the signs for change on the wall, DO IT QUICKLY. Don't procrastinate. Don't make God do it for you, it may come the hard way. And mind you, it's out of LOVE.
