It’s Thursday, August 27, 2026.
As we push toward the end of another busy workweek, it is easy to let weariness or the noise of the world quiet our spiritual voice. When we face long-standing struggles, sickness, or unanswered prayers, people around us, and even our own doubts, often tell us to pipe down, accept our plight, or stop making a scene. We run the risk of letting public opinion or spiritual fatigue silence our cries for help.

But to know Jesus is to understand that He is moved by persistent, bold faith. He never ignores a sincere cry for mercy, no matter how loud the crowd roars to shut you down.

> “And behold, two blind men sitting by the road, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, saying, ‘Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!’ Then the multitude warned them that they should be quiet; but they cried out all the more, saying, ‘Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!’ So Jesus stood still and called them, and said, ‘What do you want Me to do for you?’ They said to Him, ‘Lord, that our eyes may be opened.’ So Jesus had compassion and touched their eyes. Closing Matthew chapter 20 for today’s Thursday liturgy, two blind men are sitting beside the road near Jericho as Jesus passes by with a large crowd.

Hearing that it was Jesus, they began shouting at the top of their lungs for mercy. The crowd sternly told them to keep quiet, viewing them as a noisy nuisance to the Master's journey. But instead of shrinking back in embarrassment, they cried out all the more! Their persistent, unyielding faith stopped the Savior in His tracks. Jesus stood still, called them over, and asked them directly what they desired. Moved with tender compassion, Jesus touched their blind eyes, instantly restoring their sight, and they immediately chose to follow Him down the road.

To know Jesus intimately through walking in "Persistent Faith" this Thursday, consider the following:

* Refuse to Be Silenced: Never let discouragement, fear of what others think, or past delays stop you from calling on the Lord. Bold faith presses through the crowd until it reaches Jesus.

* The Compassion of Christ: Jesus is never too busy to notice your pain. When you cry out from the depths of your heart, He stands still, listens, and responds with deep, divine empathy.

It’s Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
We have reached the middle of another workweek. In our modern world, greatness is constantly measured by position, influence, authority, and how many people serve us. It is natural to crave recognition, climb corporate or social ladders, and seek self-promotion. Even in religious circles, spiritual pride can quietly entice us to seek prominent seats rather than lowly tasks.

But to know Jesus is to have our concept of status completely inverted. In His Kingdom, true greatness is not found in stepping on others to reach the top, but in bending down to wash the feet of those around us.

> And when the ten heard it, they were greatly displeased with the two brothers. But Jesus called them to Himself and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave, just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”_ Matthew 20:24-28 NKJV

Reflecting on the middle of Matthew chapter 20, a mother comes to Jesus asking for her two sons to receive the highest positions of honor at His right and left hand. The other disciples become indignant when they hear this, revealing that they all shared the same secret desire for earthly status.

Jesus calls them together to correct their understanding of power. He contrasts the Gentile rulers, who lord authority over their people and push others around, with the culture of God's Kingdom. Jesus plainly declares that among His followers, whoever desires to become great must become a servant, and whoever wants to be first must be a slave. He then points to His own life as the ultimate model: the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.

To know Jesus intimately through practicing "True Kingdom Greatness" this Wednesday, consider the following:

* Redefining Success: God does not evaluate your day by how many people answered to you, but by how faithfully and humbly you served others with love.

Title: Know Jesus; The Purpose of the Cross

It’s Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
As we push forward into the workweek, it is so easy to get wrapped up in our own immediate worries, career goals, and personal comfort. When life gets stressful or plans get disrupted, we wonder why things aren't going smoothly. We naturally seek paths that avoid pain, sacrifice, and inconvenience, often treating our faith as a tool to make our earthly lives easier and more comfortable.

But to know Jesus is to understand that the center of our faith is not our comfort, but His sacrifice. He willingly set His face toward Jerusalem to fulfill a rescue mission designed from the foundation of the world.

> “Now Jesus, going up to Jerusalem, took the twelve disciples aside on the road and said to them, ‘Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death, and deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify. And the third day He will rise again.’” — Matthew 20:17–19 (NKJV)

Continuing in Matthew chapter 20 for today’s Tuesday liturgy, Jesus pulls His twelve disciples aside as they walk the road to Jerusalem. For the third time in Matthew’s Gospel, He plainly predicts His upcoming suffering, betrayal, ex*****on, and resurrection.

Notice the deliberate focus and clarity in Jesus’ words. He was not walking blindly into a tragic accident or falling victim to human political schemes. Jesus knew every agonizing detail that awaited Him, the betrayal, the false condemnation, the public mocking, the brutal scourging, and the agony of the cross. Yet He walked straight toward Jerusalem anyway. Why? Because His love for us was stronger than His desire for self-preservation. He endured the ultimate sacrifice so that we could be redeemed, ending His prediction not on the grave, but on the glorious promise of resurrection on the third day!

To know Jesus intimately through understanding "The Purpose of the Cross" this Tuesday, consider the following:

* Intentional, Sacrificial Love: Jesus wasn't forced onto the cross; He chose it freely out of love for you. Every lash He took and every nail He endured was a conscious step to buy back your soul.

* A Faith Beyond Personal Comfort: Walking with Jesus means understanding that true growth often involves carrying our own crosses, choosing obedience, integrity, and selflessness over easy worldly comfort.

It’s Monday, August 24, 2026.
We are stepping into a fresh workweek. As we begin our daily responsibilities, it is so easy to evaluate our worth based on how long we’ve been working, how much effort we’ve put in, or how our contributions compare to those around us. In our workplaces, churches, and social circles, we often compare our progress with others, feeling bitter when someone who put in less effort receives equal recognition, or feeling anxious that we haven't done enough to earn God's favor.

But to know Jesus is to enter a Kingdom driven by unearned grace rather than human merit. God does not measure His love or generosity by our timecards, but by His own sovereign, overflowing goodness.

> “For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard... And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing idle... He said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard.’ ... So when evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his steward, ‘Call the laborers and give them their wages, beginning with the last to the first.’ And when those came who were hired about the eleventh hour, they received a denarius. But when the first came, they supposed that they would receive more; and they likewise received each a denarius. And when they had received it, they complained against the landowner... But he answered one of them and said, ‘Friend, I am doing you no wrong... Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with my own stuff? A landowner hires laborers at various points throughout the day, some at dawn, others at noon, and some at the eleventh hour (just one hour before quitting time). When payment comes, every worker receives the exact same generous wage: a full denarius. Those hired early in the morning grumbled, feeling they deserved more because they endured the scorching heat of the day. But the landowner gently corrects them: His generosity to the latecomers did not cheat the early workers out of their agreed-upon wage. Jesus exposes the human heart's tendency toward entitlement, envy, and spiritual scorekeeping. In God’s Kingdom, salvation and grace are never earned wages, they are gifts freely bestowed by a good God.

To know Jesus intimately through understanding "Laborers in the Vineyard" as you start this workweek, consider the following:

* Grace Over Merit: Whether you have walked with Christ for fifty years or turned to Him fifty minutes ago, His grace and salvation are equally complete. Stop trying to earn what can only be received as a gift.

* Guard Against Envy: Comparing God's blessings in other people's lives to your own brings bitterness. Rejoice when God extends grace, advancement, or mercy to someone who seems "less deserving", it proves just how good our God is!

* Focus on the Privilege of Serving: Being called into God's vineyard early is not a burden to complain about; it is a privilege to enjoy! Serve Him this week out of gratitude, not out of a desire for human praise or comparison.

As you step into your work and duties this Monday, drop the scorecard. Rest in the breathtaking truth that God’s grace toward you is infinitely greater than anything you could ever earn.

We have reached the end of another workweek. In our modern culture, success is often defined by what we accumulate, our wealth, professional accomplishments, good reputation, and moral track record. Many people live good, respectable lives, checking off all the right ethical boxes, yet still experience a quiet, lingering emptiness inside. They wonder: "I do everything right, so why do I still feel so unfulfilled?"

To know Jesus is to discover that eternal life is not a prize earned through our moral achievements or possessions, but a complete surrender of our hearts to Him as our ultimate treasure.

> “Now behold, one came and said to Him, ‘Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?’ ... Jesus said to him, ‘If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.’ But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.” — Matthew 19:16, 21–22 (NKJV)

Continuing in Matthew chapter 19 for today’s Friday liturgy, a wealthy, moral young ruler approaches Jesus asking what "good thing" he must do to secure eternal life. When Jesus points him to the Commandments, the young man proudly replies that he has kept them all since his youth. Yet he senses something is still missing: "What do I still lack?"

Jesus looks into his heart and pinpoints the one idol holding him captive, his wealth. Jesus challenges him to sell his possessions, give to the poor, and come follow Him. Tragically, the young man turns and walks away sorrowful, because his possessions possessed him. Jesus wasn't teaching that money itself is evil, nor that we earn salvation through poverty. He exposed that this man's ultimate trust, security, and identity were anchored in his riches rather than in God. He wanted eternal life, but not at the cost of dethroning his idol.

To know Jesus intimately through addressing "The One Thing Lacking" this Friday, consider the following:

* Exposing Hidden Idols: An idol is anything you rely on more than God for your ultimate security, worth, or joy, whether it's money, career status, approval, or control. What is the "one thing" you hesitate to surrender to Christ?

* Surrender Precedes Treasure: Jesus didn't ask the young man to give up his wealth to impoverish him, but to free his hands so he could receive indestructible "treasure in heaven." True gain begins with surrender.

* Follow Me: Christianity is not merely a checklist of rules kept; it is a personal, wholehearted relationship of following Jesus wherever He leads.

As you close out your workweek today, open your hands before the Lord. Let go of whatever you've been clinging to for security, and find your true wealth in Jesus alone.

As we push toward the end of another busy workweek, life often feels crowded with heavy responsibilities, tight deadlines, and serious adult concerns. In the midst of pressing schedules, it is easy to view interruptions as annoyances, or to treat simpler, weaker, or less "productive" people as distractions from the real work at hand. We easily prioritize status, efficiency, and big achievements over quiet, tender moments of grace.

But to know Jesus is to realize that His heart is always accessible to the simple, the humble, and the small. He never considers the weak a distraction, in fact, He welcomes them with open arms.

> “Then little children were brought to Him that He might put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.’ And He laid His hands on them and departed from there.” — Matthew 19:13–15 (NKJV)

The disciples, likely believing they were protecting the Master's precious time and energy for "more important" theological teaching and ministry, sternly rebuked the parents. But Jesus immediately stops His disciples. He turns their rigid priorities upside down, commanding: "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven." He takes time out of His busy schedule to personally lay His hands on them, bless them, and pray for them. Jesus shows us that in God’s eyes, no one is too small, too insignificant, or too much of an interruption to receive His love.

It’s Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
We have reached the middle of the workweek. In a culture where promises are easily broken, contracts are routinely renegotiated, and relationships are often discarded when inconvenience arises, it can be hard to understand the concept of absolute, lifelong commitment. We live in a world that promotes quick exits and disposable relationships whenever feelings fade or hardship hits.

But to know Jesus is to understand that God values covenant relationship over temporary convenience. He calls us to honor our vows, value marriage, and reflect His unwavering faithfulness in our relationships.

> “The Pharisees also came to Him, testing Him, and saying to Him, ‘Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for just any reason?’ And He answered and said to them, ‘Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning “made them male and female,” and said, “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh”? So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.’” — Matthew 19:3–6 (NKJV)
