CHRIST: HUMANITY'S PRAYER ANSWERED
The sinner is, in truth, a walking prayer; a living cry, though often unspoken. In his weakness, his emptiness, and his wandering, his very life is a constant asking, seeking, and knocking after something he cannot name.
As the Scripture declares:
“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” — Luke 19:10 (KJV)
Even before man forms the words, heaven has already heard the cry hidden within his condition. The brokenness of humanity is itself a prayer rising to God.
And the answer is not a thing; it is a Person.
For the Father answers the sinner not merely by giving something, but by giving Himself in the revelation of the Son:
“No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.” — John 1:18 (KJV)
Thus, Christ is the answer to the sinner’s existence. He is the fulfillment of that silent prayer; the embodiment of all that man was reaching for without knowing.
So when man is given the revelation of the Father in Christ, his lifelong prayer is answered:
“Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father…” — John 14:8–9 (KJV)
This means the cry of humanity was never for things, nor for relief alone; it was always for the Father. And in Christ, that desire is fully met.
In this light, we begin to see something even deeper:
we are not only those who prayed—we are also what God desired.
For God did not merely respond to our need; He fulfilled His own heart in us:
“Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ… and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.” — Ephesians 2:5–6 (KJV)
We are, therefore, both the prayer and the answer.
The sinner is a walking prayer, and the redeemed man is that prayer fulfilled in Christ.
And beyond this, we are God’s own dream made visible—His desire brought to life through His Son.
As it is written:
“For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” — Philippians 2:13 (KJV)
So in Christ, something beautiful is revealed:
Man’s cry becomes “Abba, Father,” and God’s desire becomes a family of sons.
“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God…” — 1 John 3:1 (KJV)
Therefore, we are God’s prayer and dream come true; not by our striving, but by His giving.
For in giving us Christ, He answered every cry of man, and in raising us in Christ, He fulfilled every desire of His own heart.
