NOT THE SPLASH, BUT THE DROP: THE POWER OF PERSISTENT FAITH
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” — Matthew 7:7 (KJV)
Not every answer comes as a sudden splash. Many times, God works through the constant drop — the steady, repeated, faithful pressing into His presence. There is no shame in coming again. There is no guilt in praying again. There is no weakness in seeking again. In fact, persistence is often where real faith is seen. The Greek idea behind ask, seek, and knock carries the sense of continuing action. It is not a one-time moment; it is a life of reaching out to God with trust that does not quit.
Jesus taught that men ought always to pray and not to faint. That means faith is not only in the first prayer, but also in the second, the third, and the many times we return to God with the same heart. Sometimes the yoke is heavier than we thought. Sometimes the breakthrough is not in one loud moment, but in many quiet drops of grace. The constant drop wears away what the splash cannot break. That is why perseverance matters. Faith that keeps coming is faith that keeps conquering. Selah.
PRAYER
Father, strengthen my faith to keep coming to You. Deliver me from discouragement, impatience, and giving up too soon. Teach me the power of persistence until every yoke breaks and Your will is done in my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
