Come Closer, Let’s Learn…
The Scatter Effect- A Leader’s Nightmare ( 30-sec read)
Let me tell you something I learned the hard way.
I used to have so many ideas. Being an early riser, even before the day fully breaks, I’m already brimming with ideas on new projects, bold strategies, creative concepts- my mind was constantly on fire.
Sounds great, right? Well… not exactly.
Because there’s something important nobody tells you- too many ideas can actually trap you.
Not in a dramatic, obvious way. Rather in a quiet, sneaky way where you feel busy, look busy, but somehow… nothing is actually moving.
This is the Scatter Effect.
Think about light passing through a cracked lens. The light and brightness is real. But instead of cutting through like a laser, it spreads everywhere like a touch light, illuminating nothing fully, penetrating nothing deeply.
That was me. Everywhere in my mind; nowhere in my results. Are you like I used to be?
Two ways it shows up:
∙ You feel productive but you’re just busy. Nothing’s growing deep roots.
∙ Those you lead can’t follow you because your vision keeps shifting. And confused followers don’t stay followers for long.
Two ways out:
∙ Give your vision a container. Write the ideas down- but only build what belongs to this season.
∙ Protect your focus like it’s sacred. Because it is.
Jesus said it plainly in Matthew 6:22.- “if thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.” One focused eye. Not ten.
Here’s the bottom line: a scattered leader influences no one deeply. A focused leader changes everything they touch.
The world doesn’t need another leader with a thousand ideas. It needs one who finishes. Be that one and start now!
I pray this simple but strategic information helps you in your assignment journey. Read again & do enjoy your weekend!
