MATURITY, THE GOD GIVEN WAY.......
many a times, we link maturity with age and experience and think that, these two work hand in hand and that maturity only comes with age. well, I beg to differ. Maturity never comes with age. as a matter of fact you can be a youth and still be matured, depending on how you think, act and react. According to the Collins Dictionary, Maturity is the state of being fully developed. In this sense, one can liken maturity to experience( a topic for latter discussion). As humans, the way you think, definitely is evident in the way you act and react. Actions and reactions are a part of our human behaviors and no one can begrudge that. The issue is how does your actions and reactions define you. I'm not saying that, one has to live his or her life to please people, NO, but its a web world we live in. I'm only saying that in all we do, we have to consider the repercussions on other people around us. This to a large extent shows maturity and you don't need to be a Grandpa or a Grandma to know this. The Christian Bible talks about a young man or should I say boy, who God Himself chose and anointed to become king over all of Israel.. This boy is David. You and I know the exploits of this young shepherd boy. He was very young but was matured in mind. He tendered his father's flock in the wilderness and had several encounters with wild and very dangerous animals. He never left his father's sheep at the mercies of the lion's and the bears, He slew these wild animals to protect his father's sheep. Technically, they were not his, they were his father's. he wasn't even really loved by his father(if he was, why didn't his father call him when the Prophet, Samuel came to anoint one of his sons, till the Prophet inquired if these were all the sons he (Jesse) had? Nevertheless, David showed maturity and wasn't deterred from what he went through at home to affect his love for his father and his flock. He laid down his life even for his father's sheep. That's a matured mind here people. It is no surprising that God, The Father, Our Father chose him to take care of His Flock,Israel. If he could lay down his life for Jesse's sheep how much more wouldn't he do for God's sheep. ( remember we are the sheep and God is the shepherd,-Ps. 23. His maturity led him to deliver the Israelites from the shackles of the Philistines, when with a sling and a stone, He made a Mighty Man and Giant in the shape of Goliath fall.He wasn't the oldest man in the camp of the Israelites, in fact he wasn't even called for the war, he was just a delivery boy turned champion warrior.
Friends all I'm saying is that, Maturity is a God given gift. All you need to do is to ask God and let him direct your affairs. In the Natural sense, David was no match for Goliath, no way! but because David sought for maturity from God, Goliath became no match for him.. John 16: 24 says, But for until now, You have not asked anything in my name,ASK AND RECEIVE that your joy may be full. God knows you need to mature but He was you to ask, so just do that. After all He has said, Ask and it shall be given, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened unto you.. Matt 7:7... People, don't sit down and cry over split milk, let the past go, you have lots of greater things to achieve ahead of you, if you failed before or people think you cannot make it, just let them sit and see you rise above the challenge. You can do it, its just that you think you might fail again. You know what failure is? Failure is not succeeding, it is sitting down doing nothing.... Before you climb a mountain, you need to clear the path and start. that's what I'm expecting from you. Clear the area, clear the negative attitudes, clear the pessimistic friends, clear the negative family background and start to climb. I would love to see you up there on top of the mount... HAVE A BLISSFUL DAY....... gud morning
